What level of cover do I need?

We offer three main levels of car insurance options that cover you for accident and damage costs.

Comprehensive car insurance
The greatest level of insurance is offered here. It covers the cost of repairing or replacing your automobile if it is involved in an accident or intentionally destroyed. It also covers third parties, fire, and theft. You may also use our courtesy vehicle. Aside from the Essential category, it also includes added advantages including extended coverage for driving outside the UK and windscreen coverage.

Third-party, fire and theft
As well as paying out to a third party if you’re involved in an incident, this level of cover protects your car from damage caused by fire or theft. However, it doesn’t cover the cost if your car’s damaged in another way, such as a crash.

Third-party only
This is the lowest degree of protection that is necessary by law. We will compensate the other driver if you are in an accident, but you cannot make a claim for damage to your own vehicle.

How we calculate your car insurance cost

Which type of cover is right for me?

Van Insurance – sometimes called commercial van insurance or business van insurance – is the cover you need to keep your business running smoothly.

We have four levels of cover for you to choose from – Social, Social and Commuting, Own Goods and Carriage of goods for hire and reward.


Social insurance can be your best choice if you solely want to use your vehicle for personal travel and not for commuting. This cover is ideal if you want to use your van for leisure pursuits like fishing and surfing which call for a little additional room.

Social and Commuting

Planning to use your van for travelling to work and while doing day to day trips? If yes, then you’ll need Social and Commuting cover. You’ll be covered for travel to and from a single place of work.

Own Goods

Tradesmen such as builders, carpenters and plumbers who use their van in connection with their business will need Own Goods cover. This cover will also suit people who need to drive between more than one place of work such as social workers or classroom assistants.

Comprehensive cover is the highest level of cover you can buy. It includes Third Party, Fire & Theft and will pay out to repair or replace your van if it’s damaged in an accident or suffers malicious damage.


If you don’t feel you need comprehensive cover for your van, you can choose between Third Party, Fire & Theft or Third Party Only cover.

Third Party, Fire & Theft

You may feel Third Party, Fire & Theft is enough to cover for you – it protects your van from damage caused by fire or theft. However, not if your van’s damaged in another way such as a crash. Admiral insurance will pay out to the other driver if you’re involved in an incident.

Third-Party Only

This is the minimum cover you can get. It will protect you if you cause damage to someone’s property or you injure them while driving. Third Party Only cover will also protect your passengers if they suffer an injury while they’re in your van. Also, this type of cover will not pay out if your van is stolen or damaged in a fire.
