The talented forward of Athletic Club, Gorka Guruzeta made known that he is excited on his return to the field against Bilbao. The forward is one of the important players in the match in three of the Lions’ first four matches of the season, on his substitution; he registered two goals in the 04 win against Cadiz CF on Matchday 3.
Los Rojiblancos were defeated last weekend, they were unable to win RCD Espanyol at San Mamés, but they look forward to being in good form and bouncing back especially now they will be meeting with face Elche CF at the Martinez Valero this Sunday (16:15 CEST).
“It’s exciting. The manager has put a lot of faith in me as well as my teammates,” Guruzeta made this known to the media outlets on Wednesday evening.
“I had no idea; I would score two goals in the first four games on my return to Athletic Club. I have always wanted and dreamed to score in LaLiga and now it’s done, it has given me a lot of confidence. I’m here to work with and assist the team want in wining especially to Sunday.”
The striker made it known that the team needs to change their technique in their meeting with Elche, he is always available to play in any position so long as the team wins.
He said: “We have to put in our best efforts on our clash with Elche, because we have a lot of advantage and we need to win and secure the three points. Although we lost to Espanyol, the team will always do their best.
“On my debut, I played close to a striker, then after that as a centre-foward, I have adapted and confident that I can play both positions. Wherever I play, my objective is to make sure the teams wins.”
I appreciate the love shown at San Mamés, Gorka expresses confidence that he will do his best and won’t disappoint the fans.
“The love from the fans on the field the previous day, brought back nostalgia on when I made my debut,” he said. “Its extra ordinal to see the Standing Section, it motivated us. Luckingly before the year ends, we will win a lot of matches at San Mamés and return all that support.”
