The club’s name was officially changed from Akwa Starlet FC to Dakkada FC on October 31, 2019, by the management of the organization.

In Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom, there is an all-seater national sports stadium called the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (formerly known as the Akwa Ibom International Stadium). A white triangular-shaped exterior covering encloses the entire spectator stand. The stadium building is in two phases and contains a 400-meter running track for sporting events. It is the pilot element of the development of Uyo Sports Park. There are roughly 22,500 seats available in the East Stand and Curves. The Governors’ Lounge is in the Grand Stand on Level Two and includes seating for 30 to 40 VVIPs.
