High School and College Career

Damian started his career as a youngster in High School.  As a senior, he averaged 15.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.0 assists. He was rated a four-star recruits by a site “Rivals.com” and eventually committed to Vanderbilt University for his College education.

Damian spent 3 seasons at Vanderbilt and averaged 13.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.69 blocks and 27.2 minutes in 99 games. Thus as a sophomore and junior, he garnered first team All -SEC honors. In addition, Damian hit the Third best field mark in the history of the school and also finished second on the school’s all time block list.

On the 14th of April, Damian declared for the NBA draft thus forgoing his final year of college.

Professional Career

Damian’s Career as a professional Basketball Player began with the Golden State Warriors who drafted him for the NBA. He signed with the Warriors on July 13, 2016 and made his debut on December 10,2016. Damian scored his first career NBA point in a match against Charlotte Hornets on February 1,2017 which they won by the way. Eventually, Damian led the Warriors to their first Championship in the NBA Finals after defeating Cleveland Cavaliers. They returned the following year and won a second championship – that is two straight championships! Damian suffered a torn left pectoral muscle on December 1, 2018 and had to go to surgery. The Warriors lost the next year despite his comeback.

Damian was eventually traded to Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Omari Spellman in July 2019. However, he signed a two year deal with Phoenix Suns on November 30, 2020. He averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in 14 games. Damian was released by Suns on February 23, 2021 and he signed a 10 day contract with the Lakers on February 26,2021. He signed a second one on March 11 before moving on to Sacramento Kings where he did same.

On July 1, 2022 Damian signed again with the Los Angeles Lakers fully.
