Information on the FC Cincinnati Youth Academy
The FC Cincinnati Youth Academy, which was established in 2015 and is run by the club’s foundation, provides gifted players between the ages of nine and 14 with a challenging, training-intensive curriculum. It has produced a number of illustrious alumni who have gone on to play for the first team or have earned professional contracts with other teams. There are several ways to join the academy, and each one offers athletes access to top-tier coaching and growth opportunities. There is an online training option if a player does not reside in the Greater Cincinnati area and is unable to go to practices and games. For individuals who were born in 2004, 2007, and 2008, registration is now closed. Criteria for Entry into FC Cincinnati Youth Academy
The FC Cincinnati Youth Academy only accepts athletes who were born in 2002 or earlier. Additionally eligible are players who will graduate from high school in 2020 or 2021. A player can become eligible by signing up for the U.S. Player Development Program run by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
National Development Teams for soccer. The U.S. Soccer Development Academy League features academy teams (DA). The DA season begins in August and lasts until June of the following year, when the final champion is determined after the playoffs.

During the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on June 14, 2017, FC Cincinnati played their inaugural game against Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer. Baye Djiby Fall, a player for Cincinnati, scored the game’s lone goal in the 1-0 victory. Cincinnati did this by selling 30,160 tickets for the U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round, breaking their previous club attendance record of 35,061.
FC Cincinnati competed in their second game against a Major League. Chicago Fire, a soccer team, in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16. After a 0-0 draw, Cincinnati would win 3-1 on penalties, with goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt saving three of the four attempts. During the game, he made a total of 10 saves. The 32,287 spectators made up the second-largest Modern Era crowd to watch a U.S. Open Cup match. ESPN broadcast the game nationwide.
The New York Red Bulls defeated FC Cincinnati 3-2 at home in front of a sold-out crowd on August 15, 2017, in the US Open Cup semifinal. After halftime, FCC had a 2-0 lead before going on to lose in overtime.
In a 1-0 loss to rival Louisville City on April 7, 2018, the team set the USL attendance record for a home debut with 25,667 spectators.
In its final home regular-season game before joining the MLS, the team shattered the USL attendance record once more on September 29, 2018, drawing 31,478 spectators in a 3-0 victory over rival Indy Eleven.
Stadium
Nippert Stadium, which is also the home of the University of Cincinnati football team, is where FC Cincinnati played their home games. A few months after the football team’s major refurbishment finished, the stadium, built for American football, had a small makeover in 2016 to make room for the soccer team. For USL games, FC Cincinnati set a cap on the stadium’s capacity of about 25,000 with covered upper level seats. The “Bailey” was Nippert’s designated supporters area, with a seating capacity of 1,700 and frequent flag, tifo, and colored smoke displays. Other areas of the stadium, such as those with bleacher seats and club seating, targeted to casual spectators and families.
The club revealed plans to erect a training facility near Milford, Ohio, on June 26, 2018.
