Anadolu Efes’s  (2013–2017)

Korkmaz played for the Efes junior and youth teams during his first year in the club infrastructure. For the 2013-14 season, he was loaned to the Turkish 2nd-tier level TB2L team Pertevniyal, which was Anadolu Efes’ farm club at the time. Korkmaz was promoted to the senior men’s Anadolu Efes first team in the summer of 2014. His Efes contract included a $2 million buyout clause for the NBA.

Korkmaz was one of 13 international underclassmen selected in the 2016 NBA Draft on June 13, 2016. The Philadelphia 76ers selected him 26th in the first round.  Following his selection, Korkmaz decided to stay with Anadolu Efes for at least another season.

Banvit (2016–2017)

During his rookie season, he was assigned to the NBA G League’s Delaware 87ers on multiple occasions.

Korkmaz scored 40 points (including eight three-pointers) in 28 minutes against the Boston Celtics in Philadelphia’s first game of the 2018 NBA Summer League. It was the Summer League’s fifth-best scoring performance. Korkmaz scored 18 points off the bench in a win over the Detroit Pistons on December 10, 2018. He made his first career start on December 12 in place of the injured Jimmy Butler.

Korkmaz re-signed with the 76ers on a two-year contract on July 25, 2019.

He hit the game-winning shot against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 2. Korkmaz set a career-high with 34 points off the bench against the Memphis Grizzlies on February 7, 2020. Korkmaz went off again one game later, scoring 31 points off the bench against the Chicago Bulls. [16] Korkmaz started 12 games, averaging 21.7 minutes per game, and setting career highs in points and rebounds per game at 9.8 and 2.3, respectively, while shooting a career-high 40.2% from three-point range.

Korkmaz made 11 starts in the shortened 2020 season, averaging 9.1 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, and 37.5% three-point shooting. He set career highs in assists and steals per game, with 1.5 and 1.5, respectively.

Korkmaz was a member of Turkey’s junior national teams. He competed for Turkey’s junior national teams at the 2013 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship, where he led the team in scoring, the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, where he won a gold medal, the 2015 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, where he won a silver medal and was named to the All-Tournament Team, and the 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, where he won a bronze medal and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

He also competed in the 2017 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship, averaging 12.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.6 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 30.3 minutes per game.
