Moses Moody started playing basketball in high school for Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. He assisted his team in making it to the state finals during his first year. Afterwards, he transferred to North Little Rock High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas, as a sophomore. Moody then led his team to the Class 7A state championship with averages of 18.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. He was selected for both the Arkansas 7A All-State Team and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Underclassman Team. Moody then changed schools to Florida’s Montverde Academy for his junior year.

During the regular season of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), he played for Bradley Beal Elite.
