Introducing New York City Youth Academy

How to Join New York City FC Academy
If you want to Join New York City FC Academy, Visit the academy website apply. After completing your application, click submit to download it for screening. Within two weeks, you will receive a call to examine your application and request an interview. Bring a CV or job history, as well as at least one letter of recommendation, if you are invited. This is so that we can provide our services in a manner that is financially viable.
Requirement for New York City Youth Academy Registration
There are a few prerequisites that must be fulfilled in order to be eligible for any NYC Youth programs.
You must first be under the age of 21 in order to be regarded as a youth. This is to make sure that everyone who enrolls in and participates in these programs may get the most enjoyment possible from them. To protect the safety of individuals who live here with us as well as those taking part in our program sites, prospective members must also reside within 30 miles of our Bronx site and be free of any prior felony or assault convictions.

American professional soccer team York City Football Club is situated in New York City. History
Foundation
Major League Soccer was interested in adding a second franchise to the New York City region in the early months of 2006. This came after the exclusive territorial rights of MetroStars, which were a requirement of the club’s sale to Red Bull GmbH and the establishment of New York Red Bulls, had expired.
The league had discussions about who would buy the second New York team in 2007 with a number of entities, including Fred Wilpon and his family, the owner of the New York Mets. Following the family’s losses in the Madoff investment scam, the Wilson’s’ interest in Major League Soccer is said to have diminished, but the league is still looking for investors.
The league’s intention to add a second team in the New York region as its 20th franchise was publicly stated by Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber in 2010. The league’s initial goal was for the new squad to start playing in 2013. Garber also had conversations with the New York Cosmos’ new owners. However, they refused to submit an application for entrance after objecting to the league’s expansion fee and single-entity structure. Ferran Soriano, who was Barcelona’s vice president during the Miami bid, was named CEO of Manchester City in 2012.
Renaming the Club
Unnamed sources told the media in December 2012 that Manchester City was almost ready to be named the new owners of the 20th MLS team and that the name “New York City Football Club” had been registered as a trademark. However, the club quickly refuted the claims.
Claudio Reyna, a former midfielder for Manchester City and the United States, was appointed by the club as its head of football operations on May 22, 2013. Thus, he was in charge of hiring the coaching staff and signing new players prior to the team’s 2015 MLS debut. Reyna, a native of New Jersey, also participated for the close-by New York Red Bulls. He claimed to have started developing a list of potential head coaching candidates for the team, although he would not make an announcement in 2013. On October 3, 2013, the team revealed an agreement with English-language radio station WFAN.
Wins and Transfers
On September 6, 2013, as part of a five-year agreement with the university, the club made its first off-field employment when they appointed Tim Pernetti to serve as Chief Business Officer. Mid-November saw the addition of three experienced administrators who were given vice president positions.
Jason Kreis was introduced as the brand-new franchise’s inaugural head coach on December 11, 2013. He made the move just four days after losing to Sporting Kansas City on penalties, preventing him from winning his second MLS Cup with the Utah squad. On January 10, 2014, Kreis’ official debut took place at a press conference. He announced Miles Joseph, his former assistant, joining him at the club.
Spanish World Cup champion striker David Villa was confirmed as the team’s first-ever player on June 2, 2014. Villa was loaned to Melbourne City, a squad that is also controlled by City Football Group, while the team waited for its 2015 MLS debut. However, he was summoned back after just for the season.
The Conference
At a live news conference in Brooklyn on July 24, 2014, New York City revealed that former England international and all-time leading goal scorer for Chelsea Frank Lampard would be joining their team.
Lampard was praised by Reyna as one. Lampard said, “It is an honor to be able to help build history here in New York City as one of the best players in world history.” “As their third Designated Player, the team acquired former Italian international Andrea Pirlo from Juventus on July 6, 2015.
As an expansion team, New York City had the second overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft and selected Oregon State forward Khiry Shelton as their first pick.
