Southampton Football Club
Southampton is an English football club playing in the premier league. The club football home ground is St Mary Stadium. Nicknamed the Saints Southampton has been able to amass popularity and a global fan base around the world.
Southampton won the Southern League championship for three years running between 1897 and 1899 and again in 1901, 1903, and 1904. Southampton was founding members of the Premier League in 1992–93 but spent most of the next ten seasons struggling against relegation. In 1995–96, Southampton finished 17th with 38 league points, avoiding relegation on goal difference.
In August 2017, Southampton Football Club confirmed that the Chinese businessman Gao Jisheng had completed a multimillion-pound takeover of the club, acquiring an 80% stake for around £210m.
Southampton Football Academy
In their bid to provide a platform that will train the new generation of soccer stars, the Southampton FC soccer school was set up. The academy since it was established has been at the forefront of raising the next generation of global soccer stars. Renowned players including Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, and Alan Shearer are all products of Southampton Youth Academy.
Under the tutelage of professional coaches, Southampton Youth Academy players are put through drills and training to ensure they meet the best standards required in the game. The youngsters also get the needed boost in the form of workshops, Friendly tours, Meet and Greet with soccer stars amongst other extracurricular the academy organizes. In addition to the team of professional fitness and coaching crew, the academy also boasts of cutting-edge facilities and modern technologies used in tutoring youngsters.
Furthermore, the players compete in the developmental league as well as other youth international competitions. Which goes a long way in strengthening their competitive spirit. How to Join Southampton Youth Academy
Through Southampton Youth Academy trials and other football open trials, youngsters can be accepted. However, the academy maintains an open door policy which gives applicants the opportunity of a direct application to Southampton FC Soccer School.
The club also gives room for specially drafted players who come through football scouts in England. Additionally, those who cannot afford Southampton FC Academy Fees are given the opportunity of scholarships provided they meet certain requirements.
