Feyenoord Football Club
Feyenoord is a Dutch top-flight football club competing in the Eredivisie. The Club is one of the most successful Dutch football clubs. Founded as Wilhelmina in 1908, the club changed to various names before settling on being called after its neighborhood in 1912 as SC Feijenoord, updated in 1974 to SC Feyenoord. The home ground of the club is Stadion Feijenoord nicknamed De Juip and is considered one of the largest football stadiums in Europe.
The club boasts of 15 Eredivisie titles, 13 KNVB Cups, and 4 Johan Cruyff Shields. Internationally, it has won one European Cup, two UEFA Cups, and one Intercontinental Cup. The club has played continuously in the top tier of the Dutch football system since gaining promotion to Eerste Klasse (the Eredivisie’s forerunner competition) in 1921, more times than any other club in the country.
Feyenoord commands a massive fan base both in the Netherlands and in the global scene. The club has also produced soccer legends in addition to having records of their name. It is hard to complete the exploits in Eredivisie without mentioning Feyenoord. In addition to their formidable squad of professional top-class players, there is also Feyenoord FC Youth Academy dedicated to grooming youngsters and the future generations of soccer stars in the club.
Feyenoord FC Youth Academy
Just like the main team, Feyenoord Football Academy is also a leading youth development center in the Netherlands. A good number of Feyenoord Academy graduates are signed to top-flight European teams. The club instills discipline and good sportsmanship in the academy players. The state of the art gymnastic and sports facilities makes it more interesting for youngsters.
Additionally, the team of sports education professionals at the club is among the best in Europe. Feyenoord FC Academy also competes in the lower division tier and has been in impressive form with many both home and away wins. Feyenoord International’s training program further affords youngsters the opportunity of meeting with established soccer stars and learn from their wealth of experience.
Youth Academy players showing promising skills and developments can attract strong from other clubs and be subsequently sold on a professional contract. There is a development group for all levels from U-8 to U-23. The summer camp equally opens for Feyenoord Academy Trials.
