Joining GIF Sundsvall Youth Academy

The GIF Sundsvall Youth Academy tryouts are a fantastic chance to show off your skills if you’re a young footballer who wants to play professionally. How to enroll in the GIF Sundsvall Youth Academy and advance to the professional level is provided here.

Requirement for GIF Sundsvall Youth Academy Registration

Criteria for Admission to GIF Sundsvall Youth Academy

Although it is not a must, GIF Sundsvall suggests that athletes have some prior football (soccer) experience. Finally, all athletes must give commitment to routinely showing up for both training and games.

Can I still register if I’m not from Sweden or the surrounding area?

All players who meet the age and nationality requirements are eligible to participate in the GIF Sundsvall Youth Academy Trials. You can still sign up for the trials even if you are not from Sweden or the area. Filling out a registration form and sending it in with a copy of your passport are all that are required. A registration fee is also required. After registering, you will be able to take part in the trials.

GIF Sundsvall

A professional football team from Sweden with its home base in Sundsvall is called Gymnastik- och Idrottsf reningen Sundsvall, also known as GIF Sundsvall, Giffarna, or just Sundsvall. The team competes at the NP3 Arena, which seats about 8,000 people, for their home matches and is a member of the Medelpads Fotbollf rbund. The team was founded on August 25, 1903, and has participated in 19 seasons of Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top football league.

In the Allsvenskan table maratontabellen, GIF Sundsvall ranks twenty-second overall. Blue, yellow, and white are the club colors, which are also reflected in their crest and uniform. White has a long history with the club, despite the fact that it is not overtly present in the current uniform.

History of GIF Sundsvall

On August 25, 1903, at Matilda Anderssons Caf , the club was established. “Godtemplarnas Idrotts F rening Sundsvall” was the name of the organization at the time, which was mostly for Teetotallers until the alcohol requirements were loosened in 1920. The letters eventually came to stand for “Gymnastik och Idrottsf reningen Sundsvall,” which they do to this day (Gymnastics and sports club Sundsvall).

In 1965, the club advanced to the top division of domestic football. Since then, the club has been a “yo-yo squad,” primarily competing in the second tier but also spending time in the Allsvenskan in 1975, 1987 1989, 1991, 2000 2006, 2008, 2012, and 2015 19. Women’s football, bandy, and ice hockey were once featured on the schedule of GIF Sundsvall. In 1921, the bandy squad won the V sternorrland district championship. In the late 1960s, the hockey team disbanded. The women’s squad later moved to Sundsvalls DFF in 1985. This is primarily due to the women’s team’s disappointment with the men’s team’s lack of support.

Stadium

NP3 Arena, originally known as Idrottsparken and Norrporten Arena, serves as GIF Sundsvall’s home field. They opened it on August 6, 1903, with it’s location in Sundsvall’s center. After being refurbished in 2001 2002, it can currently accommodate 8,000 people, with 5,000 of them under roof. Norrporten Arena served as the name of the stadium from 2006 to 2016, and the club anticipates announcing a new sponsor and name for the venue in 2017. Since 2004, the grass in the stadium has become artificial turf.

On October 15, 1961, against Högadals IS, 16,507 people attended, setting a record. The facility contained tennis courts as well as jogging, skittles, shooting, and shooting lanes when it opened in 1903, the same year as GIF Sundsvall. Idrottsparken underwent a significant makeover in the early 2000s and was re-inaugurated on June 9th, 2002 by Carl XVI Gustaf. When the football field transitioned to artificial turf in 2004, it was primarily owing to the poor quality of the grass turf caused by the chilly environment.

Supporter

Patronerna is the name of GIF Sundsvall’s recognized supporters group. The club was founded in 1999, primarily as a joke by some friends who were backing a friend, and it has quickly built up a solid reputation.
