The 1980s–1990s Experiences
Terry Venables was the first-ever manager to take over the club at this period. He brought some new innovations to the club, like the man-made turf pitch. It was around 31 July 2008, that the ABC loan released the funds.
With the release of the loan, the new owners began to make plans. Consequently, they were going to redevelop the Lotus Road and attract sponsors. As a result, the Lotto Sports Italia officially became the club’s kit supplier. Due to the big partnership and Investment of the club, rumors began to spread. However, that didn’t bother the club.
Meanwhile, it was proposed that billionaire Vijay Mallya was interested in buying the club. On the other hand, the club announced Gulf Air as their new shirt sponsor. Apparently, it will be a 3- year deal. Similarly, the club announced a couple of other sponsors like Abbey Financial Services and Lotto Sport Italia. Also, they announced Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia as their shirt sponsors.
However, Flavio Briatore faced some allegations in the F1 sport. This jeopardized his tenure in the QPR Club. As a result, the Football League council was going to invite him for interrogation. Consequently, the club ran into losses. The club owners began to re-strategize to stop the enormous losses. They sold off some shares to see if it could remedy the situation. Certainly, solutions and help will come. But, it was going to take long.
Consequently, a disagreement occurred between Briatore and the company chairman. The conflict was too intended. As a result, both of them left the club in 2011. After their departure, Tony Fernandez bought a big share in the club. This placed him as the leading shareholder. However, the Mittal Family was still holding shares in the club.
