NK Slaven Belupo

Nogometni klub Slaven Belupo, also recognized as NK Slaven Belupo, Slaven Belupo, or merely Slaven, and sometimes recognized internationally as NK Slaven Koprivnica, is a professional football team from Croatia with its base in the northern city of Koprivnica. They hold their home games at Koprivnica’s Gradski Stadion.

NK Slaven Belupo’s past

When a student squad was organized and given the name “aki nogometni klub,” which is Croatian for “Students’ Football Club,” it became the first football club in Koprivnica. The Friedrich family members created a sports club on August 20, 1912, and this date is regarded as the club’s official founding date. This is when the name Slaven first appeared. One of the Yugoslav regional championships was the Croatian championship, which the club claimed in 1920. After changing its name to HK Victorija, Slaven was dissolved 6 years afterwards because of monetary issues.
