Register through our online academy trials system here if you have interest in becoming a youth player at the Korona FC Youth Academy. If you are under the age of 13, your parent or legal guardian must fill out the registration form on your behalf if you choose to create an account and register independently. Youth Academy of Korona FC

You have to satisfy the Korona FC Youth Academy registration conditions first before you may register. The following criteria apply:

About Korona Kielce

Polish football team Korona Kielce, pronounced [krna kjlts] (Korona – Crown – symbol of club and city, Kielce – name of city where club is headquartered), will play in Ekstraklasa in the 2022–23 season. The club experienced it’s greatest success in 2005 when it earned promotion to the first division while being owned by the Polish holding company Kolporter Holding from 2002 to 2008. (Ekstraklasa). Since then, Korona has played five seasons at the top level of Polish soccer. Korona took part in the Polish Cup final in the 2006–07 season. The club, previously found guilty of match-fixing, demoted to I liga after the 2007–2008 campaign. Korona became exiled for a year before coming back to the Ekstraklasa.  Korona concluded the 2019–20 season in 14th place and demoted to I liga. After defeating Chrobry Gógów 3-2 in the promotion play-off final, Korona earned promotion back to the Ekstraklasa on May 29, 2022.

History

They established the club in 1973 as a result of the merger of the Iskra and SHL teams from Kielce. In 1975, the brand-new team received their initial promotion to the Polish 2nd league. Unfortunately, the team played poorly and quickly demoted. 1982 saw the next promotion. Before their demotion once more in 1990, Korona competed in the second level. There were several changes in 1996. Nida Gips of Gacki now sponsored the club and its name changed to Miejski Klub Sportowy Sekcja Futbolowa Korona. Korona participated in the second league once more during the 1998–1999 campaign before their demotion at the conclusion of the year. In 2000, Korona joined with Bkitni Kielce, another team from Kielce, and adopted the name Kielecki Klub Pikarski Korona.

The heyday of Korona had arrived in 2002. Kielecki Klub Pikarski Kolporter Korona was the new name of the club, with Kolporter as the new sponsor and Krzysztof Klicki as the new chairman. They changed the team’s name once more in 2003, to Sportowa Spólka Akcyjna Kolporter Korona. The objective was to be the best football team in Poland. When Korona won the 2nd league and granted promotion to the Polish premier league for the first time in club history in 2005, the dream began to materialize.

First-round Ekstraklasa match between Korona and Cracovia ended in a scoreless draw. The 2005–06 season saw Korona finish fifth in the standings. At a meeting with fans before the 2006–07 season, the club’s chairman declared that the club will return to its former coat of arms. With a victory away at Arka Gdynia, Korona’s second Ekstraklasa campaign got off to a great start (3–0). The 20th of September 2006 held a special place in Korona’s history.

Despite finishing the 2006–07 campaign in seventh place, the club moved to the top of the league standings for the first time in its history after an away victory against Odra Wodzisawlski. It finished sixth in its third and last season in the top league in 2007–08 but demoted due to its involvement in match-fixing in the 2003–04 campaign. For a small sum, Klicki sold the club to the city of Kielce in August 2008.

Korona Kielce elevated to the Ekstraklasa on July 14, 2009. They demoted back to I Liga in 2020. They received another promotion to the Ekstraklasa in 2022.

Stadium

As a result of Korona’s accomplishments and club owner Krzysztof Klicki’s declaration that the team would compete for European Cups and play in the premier league, Kielce municipal officials approved the building of a new stadium. Unfortunately, it turned out that the stadium was far too tiny. In order to facilitate continued construction on the new facility, the club played its first round of the highest level at its old stadium (now used by reserves and young teams).

They formally gave the keys to the new stadium to the club just 18 months after the construction process began. On April 1, 2006, they played the inaugural game of the Premier League against Zagbie Lubin.

They constructed the Korona stadium in accordance with UEFA regulations and contemporary design principles, despite being erected on the same location as an earlier stadium. It varies from the majority of other football stadiums in Poland in this regard, which were constructed during the communist era or earlier and only marginally modified to fulfill fundamental UEFA requirements.

Kielce Stadium can handle 15,550 spectators, however league matches may only hold 13,823 Korona supporters and 777 guests due to Polish regulations, which demand a buffer zone between home supporters and the visitors section. This happened in the 2006–07 season when fans of Legia Warszawa, a visiting team, got turned away because so many of their “red brigade” supporters traveled to Kielce to support their team.
