Levante UD Academy Scholarship
Levante Unión Deportiva is a Spanish football club based in Valencia, in the autonomous community of the same name.
Levante UD is a Spanish football club that was founded on September 9, 1909, it competes in La Liga and plays its home games at the Ciutat de València Stadium.
Lavente Union Deportiva’s History:
Foundation (1909–1935):
On September 9, 1909, Levante UD was founded as Levante Football Club (it celebrated its 100th anniversary on September 9, 2009).
The east coast of Spain, Levante, is where the sun rises every day (rise in Spanish being levantar). The eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula is named after Levante Union Deportiva (Football Club). Levante wind blows from the east and is reminiscent of the Levante beach near La Malvarrosa. Where Levante Football Club (as Levante Union Deportiva was initially) plays some of its initial encounters. The most senior football club in Valencia, Levante Union Deportiva, has a long history.
The first games of Levante FC were at La Platjeta, a patch of land, which belongs to a perfume entrepreneur near the docks. The club’s next home was also close to the harbor, as the club begins to link with the working class.
The team played Valencia CF for the first time in 1919, losing 0–1; the match commemorated the opening of the newly constructed new ground at Algirós. The Valencian Championship was Levante FC’s first trophy, which they won in 1928.
Gimnástico Football Club was founded in 1909, and it was formally Gimnástico-Patronato since it played at Patronato de la Juventud Obrera. After permission from royal patronage by Alfonso XIII, Gimnástico won the Campeonato de Valencia in 1919, defeating CD Castellón in the two-leg finals; the following year, the club became Real Gimnástico Football Club, and they reached the final of the Campeonato Regional de Levante but lost to Club Deportivo Aguileo. The club deleted the “Real” from its name in 1931 when the Second Spanish Republic came into power.
When the league enlarge from 10 to 24 teams in 1934–1935, both Levante and Gimnástico started in the second tier. In 1935, Levante won the Campeonato Levante-Sur, a competition in which teams from Valencia, Murcia, and Andalusia competed, and went on to win the Spanish Cup semi-finals, defeating Valencia and Barcelona in consecutive games.
Entry Requirements for Lavente FC Academy
Lavente FC Academy Scouts and Open Football trials use to choose recruits for the club. Applicants, particularly international students, can apply through the club’s website or a special drafting process.

Lavente FC Stadium
The City of Valencia Stadium is the stadium of Levante UD and is located in Valencia, Spain. It is the 23rd largest stadium in Spain and the fourth largest in the Valencian Community, with a capacity of 26,354 audiences. The construction of the Stadium was in the year 1969.
Spain’s first match of UEFA Euro 2016 qualification was a 5–1 victory over North Macedonia, which was on the ground on September 8, 2014.

The exciting match was p at the Ciudad Deportiva del Levante UD. The visit of CF Dragon Force to Ciudad Deportiva del Levante UD, a Spanish First Division team that is counting down the days until the Copa del Rey quarterfinals the second leg.
Because of its tight sanitary regulations, which include antigen tests for all players, it can see a wonderful game every week, as Liga Nacional Juvenil is Spanish football’s second-highest division. In the 41st minute, the midfielder took advantage of a wonderful free-kick by Tomás (an SIA Academy player).
For Levante, the passage through the changing room was a breath of fresh air. In an unfortunate action by the visitors, the home team was able to equalize. Cucu pushed the ball into his own goal in the 50th minute while attempting to clear a lateral pass. The score was a huge lift for Levante UD, who seized the lead through Franc Mateu just a few minutes later.
Dragon Force began to take more risks in attack from this point forward, and striker Toti’s boots may have knotted the game. The opponent’s swift response is blocked by goalkeeper Luis’s outstanding performance. Toni’s goal in the 85th minute rewarded the visitors for their efforts. Vila’s excellent individual play led to a one-on-one with the Mexican striker, who scored.
The scoreboard, however, moved back to CF Dragon Force’s displeasure. Levante UD turned a promising counterattack into a superb counterattack.
Soccer Inter-Action hosts a National Youth League Game.
Juvenil A of Dragon Force is already planning their next league game. The eighth-placed SCD Intangco, who will travel to the SIA facilities with their strong morale after their triumph in the Elche derby against Celtic, will receive Pascu Domingo’s children the following match day.
The International Football Academy of Soccer Inter-Action will be a key member of the Juvenil A team once more. Pascu Domingo’s strategy includes players like José Manuel, Tomás, David, and Ethan. Other players from the SIA Academy Annual Program train alongside them daily to prepare and speed up their training by working with players from the second-best group of Spanish youth football.

Francisco José “Paco” López Fernández
Career
Paco López (born 19 September 1967) is a Spanish football manager and former player who played as a forward. Paco López never played in the first level, but he built a solid name as a coach at numerous Valencian clubs, particularly in the Villarreal junior system.
After the dismissal of Juan Ramón Muiz as Levante B manager last spring, Lopez was promoted as first team manager. His debut game in charge ended in a 5-4 loss to FC Barcelona.
Paco López was sacked on October 4, 2021, after earning only four points from as many draws at the start of the season. He had a lower loss percentage in the division than any other Levante manager except Joaquin Caparrós, having handled a club record 133 top-flight games.
Alessio Lisci
Career
Alessio Lisci is an Italian football manager and former player who was born on November 4, 1985. He is the current manager of Levante UD, a Spanish La Liga club.
Alessio was born in Rome and spent most of his professional career with Serie D side A.C.D. Guidonia Montecelio. Following his retirement, he began working at Lazio as a fitness coach for the youth teams.
In 2011, Lisci auditioned for youth coaching positions at several Spanish clubs, but only Atlético Madrid and Levante UD responded, with Lisci taking the latter after Atleti only offered him an eight-a-side football post. He began as an assistant for the Juvenil A side while also coaching an eight-a-side football club; he also worked as a representative in the Italian food trading market in Valencia during his first two years at Levante.
Lisa departed Levante in 2016 after manager Miguel ngel Villafaina was fired, he returned a few months later as a coach of the Juvenil B team. He was hired as coach of Levante’s Juvenil A team on June 12, 2018.
Lisci took over as manager of the reserves in Segunda División B on December 15, 2020, after Luis Tevenet left. He was able to keep the team in the Segunda División RFEF at the end of the season, avoiding relegation.
Lisci was named interim manager of the first squad in La Liga on December 1, 2021, after manager Javier Pereira was fired. The following day, he made his managerial debut, leading the club to an 8–0 away win over CD Huracán Melilla in the Copa del Rey.
He was officially named manager of the Granotas till the end of the campaign two days after a 0–0 draw at home against CA Osasuna.

Abdelkader Ghezzal
Club Career
Abdelkader Mohamed Ghezzal, a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, was born on December 5, 1984. He was born in France and played 28 times for Algeria, scoring three goals.
Crotone
Ghezzal began his career in France with several lesser league clubs until joining Crotone in 2005. There, he broke through to the next level by scoring 20 goals in the Serie C1/B 2007–2008 season, aiding his club to promotion to Serie B.
Siena
Ghezzal joined Genoa C.F.C. in Serie A on a €2 million deal on June 13, 2008. Ghezzal, on the other hand, moved to A.C. Siena for €3.5 million on July 2, 2008. Fernando Forestieri was sent back to Genoa for €4.5 million as part of the agreement. Manuel Coppola purchased a stake in Siena for €1.5 million in early June.
Bari
Ghezzal signed a four-year contract with A.S. Bari for €2.25 million on July 1, 2010, as part of a co-ownership deal. At the same time, Siena signed Pedro Kamatà and Filippo Carobbio to co-own the club for €500,000 each, valuing Ghezzal at €1.25 million in cash and players.
Bari bought Ghezzal entirely for €2.25 million in June 2011, again involving a player swap. The transfer did not involve cash because Kamatà and Carobbio joined Siena own for a pre-agreed sum (€1 million in total), while Nicola Belmonte joined Siena outright following a two-year loan in Bari for €1.25 million.
Ghezzal signed a season-long loan deal with A.C. Cesena on August 31, 2011.
Parma
After he rejected an offer from Kazakhstan, he was signed by Parma F.C. on August 29, 2013, for an undisclosed fee. Latina quickly signed him to a temporary contract.
International Career
In an interview with the official website of A.C. Siena on October 23, 2008, Ghezzal stated that he had spoken with Algerian head coach Rabah Saadane and that he would be representing Algeria in international competition. Because he was from France, Ghezzal was given the chance to represent his country.
Algeria manager Rabah Saadane also called up Ghezzal on November 12, 2008, for a friendly match against Mali in Rouen, France, on November 18, 2008.
Ghezzal made his Algeria debut in a 2–1 victory over Benin on February 11, 2009.
Ghezzal was introduced as a replacement in a match against Slovenia on June 13, 2010, during the 2010 FIFA World Cup group stage, but was sent off after only thirteen minutes due to two yellow card offenses.
Lavente FC Color Schemes and Nickname
The modern-day UD Levante was created in 1939 after merging with another club, Gimnástico FC.
They preserved the Levante name but switched to the Gimnástico colors, which were first proposed by a Catalan Jesuit, Narcs Basté, as a rip-off of FC Barcelona’s.
The most common nickname for Levante is Granotas (Frogs). Gimnástico was playing in the Estadio de Vallejo at the time of the above-mentioned merger. The connection was that it was near an old riverbed that was home to a great number of frogs.
Rivalries
In the eight games leading up to a bizarre match in May 2017, Levante went 19 games without defeating their Blaugrana cousins, scoring just one goal and losing 32. Barça was two games away from becoming the first team in LaLiga to go undefeated for a whole season when the unexpected occurred. The score was 5-4 in favor of Levante. Barça had only conceded five goals in a league match twice this century.
In 2019, Levante also defeated Barça twice. The first was a surprising 2-1 triumph in the Copa del Rey, but a week later, two goals from Ousmane Dembélé and one from Leo Messi settled everything. In November, Barça took a 1-0 lead in La Liga thanks to a Messi penalty, but the hosts won 3-1.
Their losses, however, all occurred in the Ciutat de Valencia. When the two teams met at Camp Nou, there has only been one outcome: Barça won 14 of the 14 meetings, scoring 48 goals while losing only nine.
The very last time these two teams met at Camp Nou, Ansu Fati scored both goals in a 2-1 victory (and Leo Messi assisted both times)
In the last nine matches against Levante, Messi has been involved in 12 goals (and ten assists as well)
Setbacks
Levante had a poor start to the season, losing four of their first five games, with only a 3-1 victory over Osasuna to show for it. This was followed by a disturbing record of FIVE consecutive 1-1 draws, which was finally ended last week by a 3-0 victory over Getafe, only their second win of the season and enough to lift the club out from the bottom of the table.
Lavente FC’s Notable Players
Over the years, Johan Cruyff and thirty different players, including Oier Olazábal, Sergio Garca, Frédéric Deh, and ngel Cuéllar, have worn the blaugrana of Barça and Levante.
Rubén Rochina, the current Levante forward, spent most of his youth at La Masia, as Blackburn Rovers fans will recall. Daniel Cárdenas, a reserve goalkeeper, spent a little time at the Barça academy.
