AC Horsens: Youth Academy

The academy at AC Horsens is an initiative that gathers all of the most brilliant and diligent young people in the region. With the backing of our 25 partner clubs, we give players the best chances to realize their potential and aspirations.

Cooperating clubs

Our foundation consists of 25 partner clubs. Consequently, they are an essential component of ourselves as well. We work hard to encourage the local clubs in East Jutland and assist the growth of youth football. We have therefore introduced a broad range of advantages as a partner club in AC Horsens.

The club’s reputation as a desirable talent development organization in Denmark will grow and be strengthened by AC Horsens.

How to Be Scouted by the Scouts at AC Horsens Academy

Getting scouted by scouts from AC Horsens Academy is a step toward enrolling there. Therefore, the most common way to do this is to enroll in soccer schools close to you. The club has a wide network of football scouts that search the world for young, promising players.

Parents and guardians should try to enroll their children in one of the AC Horsens Soccer Schools if they are already displaying potential abilities. With years of expertise working with children and young athletes, the club has the greatest staff.

What happens after being scouted?

Additionally, it is anticipated that the player will depart the academy in a better condition than when he arrived.

Registration Requirements for AC Horsens

Football/ Soccer Academy Scholarships

AC Horsens

A professional Danish football team called AC Horsens competes in the Danish Superliga. They perform at Horsens’ Casa Arena. As a superstructure of Horsens fS, Stensballe IK, and FC Horsens, the club was thus established in 1994. Later, just Horsens fS left in the collaboration after Stensballe IK and FC Horsens both quit.

AC Horsens’ Background

Horsens fS had finished sixth in the 1994–1995 1st Division season when the new squad began to play in 1994. Thus, AC Horsens became eligible to compete in the 1994 Qualifying League for promotion to the 1994–95 Superliga.

AC Horsens missed out on the chance to receive an automatic promotion to the Superliga since they only won two of their 14 games and placed bottom in the Qualifying League.

In the latter part of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, AC Horsens became a regular member of the Danish 1st Division. After just one match, they were however demoted from the First Division and were unable to advance to the Qualification League.

After Demotion

The team played in the 2nd Division for two seasons before being re-admitted to the Danish Superliga.

The team was on the verge of being demoted to the 2nd Division after the winter break midway through the season, but a strong finish to the campaign achieved an 11th place finish, seven points clear of the bottom three.

Before ultimately being promoted to the Superliga in 2005, the team was demoted to the 2nd Division in 1994, 2001, and 2003. They are renowned for having a solid defense because they scored 41 goals in 33 games.

SuperLiga

In the Superliga of 2006–07, AC Horsens quickly pulled ahead of Vejle Boldklub as well as Silkeborg IF, two teams fighting for relegation. A string of impressive performances in the spring of 2007 was also followed by a string of dismal losses and draws.

As a result, AC Horsens is very close to being demoted. Henrik Hansen, a new offensive midfielder who joined the team in the middle of the season, quickly rose to prominence.

However, striker and Canadian national Ali Gerba did not receive a contract offer after his half-year loan stint ended in the summer of 2007. With twelve goals scored during the season, Brazilian Gilberto Macena of Holbaek B&I of the Danish 2nd Division East became AC Horsens’ leading scorer.

AC Horsens: The Stadium

A stadium Silkeborg IF in Horsens, Denmark is called Forum Horsens Arena, also known as CASA Arena Horsens due to sponsorship. It is the home field of AC Horsens and has a capacity of 10,400, of which 7,500 are seats. It is primarily used for football. The stadium also hosts concerts and a speedway track. Forum Horsens is the nearby indoor space.

The first band to perform at the stadium was The Rolling Stones. Also, Westlife, an Irish vocal pop group, performed live as part of The No 1’s Tour in support of their album Allow Us, to Be Frank on March 29, 2005. With 85,232 fans in attendance, Madonna’s concert in 2006 became the largest in Horsen’s history.

Recent performances

A few recent performances at the venue include AC/Black DC’s Ice World Tour in 2010, U2’s 360 Tour in 2010, and One Direction’s On the Road Again Tour on June 16, 2015.

2015 saw the Arena host the Speedway Grand Prix of Denmark at its third location. However, the development of Casa Arena Horsens was overseen by 3XN.

Head Coach of AC Horsens

Jens Berthel Askou, a Danish football coach and former player, was born on August 19, 1982.

AC Horsens is also under his management.

Before heading abroad, Askou played for a number of Danish clubs. Kasmpaşa in Turkey came first, then Norwich City in England. He then relocated to Denmark to play for Vejle BK. He committed to Esbjerg for two years in August 2013.

Career as a Player

Askou, a Videbaek native, started his professional career at Ikast FS before transferring to Holstebro Boldklub in 2002.

Following a successful trial, his performance led to a contract with Silkeborg IF of the 1st Division in the summer of 2003. During his debut season, he assisted the team in gaining promotion to the Danish Superliga. being a regular for four years as a result. Ask also moved to Turkish football with Kasampaşa in 2007 after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract with SIF.

In the 2007–2008 Süper Lig, Kasmpaşa placed last, with Askou making regular appearances and scoring twice. However, the team returned to the top division in 2008–09 at the first try, despite Askou’s own goal in the playoff semifinal. However the following summer, his contract was not extended.

Norwich City

Askou joined English League One club Norwich City in July 2009 while they were on a preseason tour of Scotland. He made a good impression with his defensive performances in the club’s exhibition games. Thus succeeding in beating Airdrie United with a headed goal.

Then, on July 27, manager Bryan Gunn declared that he had extended a contract offer to Asko. The two-year contract Askou had signed with Norwich was however made public on July 30.

Why was he dismissed?

Asko made a one-month loan move to fellow Championship team Millwall in January 2011. Also for a two-footed lunge on Yakubu against Leicester City on his debut, he was dismissed.

He only played once for the team, and in February he went back to Norwich. He did not return to his parent club either, and the club released him after his contract expired

Boldklub Vejle Kolding

In August 2011, Askou agreed to a two-year deal with Vejle Boldklub Kolding in the Danish first division.

He made 55 games for Vejle during his time there and was named club captain in the summer of 2012.

On August 2, 2013, Askou however agreed to a two-year contract with Esbjerg in the Danish Superliga for an unknown sum.

Career as a Coach and Others

Asko joined Skive IK as the playing assistant manager in 2015. He accepted the same post at Thisted FC a year later.

At Vendsyssel FF, Askou was also appointed Erik Rasmussen’s deputy manager in June 2017. Asko took over as manager when Rasmussen announced his resignation on May 8th, 2018.

Asko was fired following an overall loss to AC Horsens in the Danish Superliga relegation play-off games.

Career as a Manager

Asko joined Denmark Series 4 amateur team TIF All Stars in October 2019.

It was however announced at the beginning of November 2019 that Askou would take over as manager of HB Thorshavn in the Faroe Islands on December 1, 2019.

On December 5, 2020, a year later, he and HB Tórshavn had won the double. Consequently, the Faroe Islands Cup was won after first winning the Faroe Islands Premier League. He also received the Faroese Association of Football Managers’ award for best football manager in the Faroe Islands for 2020.

He departed Torshavn in January 2021 to take over as manager of AC Horsens, a failing Superliga team in Denmark.
