He learned the ins and outs of basketball at the university and professional levels, giving him a leg up on the competition.
As a result of being afforded the chance to compete with and learn from some of the best in the business, his expertise spans a wide range of perspectives on the sport.
He has both first-hand experience competing and coaching at the NCAA division I level, therefore he is well-versed in the requirements for success at that level.
As a way to give back to basketball and the community, coach Taylor developed basketball training programs out of his love for the game and his enthusiasm for developing athletes.
Now, he uses the performance training platform Evolve 2 Perform to help people in the basketball and athletic communities.
As professional athletes, we are all committed to bettering our skills over the course of our careers.
In the gym, we might try out some dribbling and jumping routines that we saw online or somewhere else.
Often, we assume we’ve put in a good day’s work when we realize we’ve been at the gym for many hours.
Athletes that dedicate themselves to training constantly and working toward a goal are favorites of coaches. “Practice makes perfect” is a proverb that has been misunderstood for a long time. What it really means is that repetition and deliberate effort lead to lasting change.
If you go to the gym and keep perfecting negative habits and terrible mental sets, you will never be able to progress as a player.
Every great athlete in history has gotten where they are by honing their skills to perfection.
Perfection is the end result of progress. When you notice yourself getting better at your craft with each new session of practice, you have taken the first necessary step toward mastery.
