About ES Setif Youth Academy

The club’s Youth Wing is dedicated to developing the future crop of professionals at ES Setif. To train the kids, the club spends a lot of money on recruiting experienced coaches, gym specialists, instructors, and other sports scholars.

ES Sétif and football in Africa

On multiple instances, ES Sétif, an Algerian professional association football team, has qualified for Confederation of African Football (CAF) events. In 11 instances, they have featured Algeria in the Champions League, 4 times in the Confederations Cup, and twice in the now-defunct Cup Winners’ Cup.

ES Setif’s Background

ES Sétif, whose club has competed in Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournaments on a routine basis. The achievement of Algerian clubs in their regional league and cup contests determine their accreditation for the primary African tournament, the African Cup. ES Sétif has consistently qualified for the African Cup by earning the Ligue Professionnelle 1. ES Sétif has also qualified for the African Cup of Nations through the Algerian Cup and has competed in the previous African Cup Winners’ Cup.

The first game was a 1–0 setback to Kampala City FC. The best win was against ASC Linguère 7–1 in 1991, and the greatest failure was against Union Douala 5–0 in 1981. For the 1st occasion in 6 years, ES Setif moved back to continental tournaments, this occasion in the African Cup of Champions Clubs. Despite dropping to the second division the succeeding year, Les Aigles Noirs won the title for the first moment in the same contest, defeating Iwuanyanwu Nationale of Nigeria in a game played at Stade du 17 Juin in Constantine. They started their adventure against ASFA Yennenga and Coton Sport, where they qualified for the group phase. They were placed in Group B with CS Sfaxien, Espérance de Tunis, and Al-Ahly Benghazi from Libya.

In the semi-finals, they beat TP Mazembe on away goals regulation, and in the final, they beat AS Vita Club in the same method.

To qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup as the first Algerian club, they lost 1–0 to Auckland City.
