The Chauncey Billups Elite Basketball Academy (“CBEBA”) is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes college basketball.

NBA star and Denver native Chauncey Billups, along with former NBA players and youth basketball activists Ronnie DeGray and Elton Davis, conceived of CBEBA.

In the spring of 2010, CBEBA came forth, under the reign of local businessmen Ronald Sally and Vince Buckmelter.

The Academic Requirement Of The Academy

CBEBA recognizes the value of education, it is no longer acceptable for athletes to rely solely on their athletic abilities to gain entry to our prestigious academy.

That’s why we want all of the athletes in the CBEBA to have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Athletes from the CBEBA who have a GPA of less than 2.8 will get extra help from tutors.

If a CBEBA athlete’s grade point average drops below 2.5, they will be undergo probation and have to take extra classes to raise their grade point average.

Lastly, the student-athlete must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to be on the CBEBA Honor Roll.

Denver Club Basketball Teams

In 2009, two ex-Davidson Wildcats and current professional players from abroad established the basketball club.

The first Pro Skills Denver Basketball Club camp held in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1996. Since its humble beginnings, the academy has expanded to include more than 175 Club Teams, 100+ Camps and Clinics each year around the United States.

The academy honored the invitation to join the Jr. NBA’s “Flagship Network” in 2017 after they named it as one of the top 15 youth basketball academies in the United States.

However, the academy teamed up with NBA All-Star Stephen Curry in 2020 to establish Team Curry.

Since its inception, more than 175 successful college and professional athletes has emerged from it.

Colorado Miners Basketball Club

The Colorado Miners is a nonprofit basketball club with the registration number 501(c)3. They established it in 2004.

Basketball activities are available all year round for kids in grades 3-12. To “Be a Good Player…Be a Better Person” is to live by the Club’s creed.

We know that our players’ academic achievements and positive contributions to their communities are just as important to their long-term success as their athletic prowess on the court.

The Mission Of The Academy

The Club not only emphasizes fundamental basketball skills, but also keeps tabs on its members’ scholastic progress and makes them do volunteer work in the neighborhood.

In 2014, the Club offered about 31,000 hours of basketball programming to young people. In addition, the Basketball Club hosted a weeklong Summer Basketball Camp that about fifty budding ballers attended.

We field teams in local tournaments and leagues throughout the year for kids in middle school and elementary school, including the JAM Basketball Leagues, CYB Premier League, MAYB, and more.

Two or three times a year, our top teams in this age range will travel to compete in other states like Kansas, Utah, Nevada, and California.

The NCAA enables Division I coaches to observe high school athletes in competitive settings for a total of six days in April and fifteen days in July.
