The recently renovated Insports Trumbull is a 108,000 square foot multi-sport recreation center offering state-of-the-art facilities and inclusive programming for all athletes, families, and visitors. It is home to one of Connecticut’s largest indoor turf spaces, the only true Canadian boarded box lacrosse arena, a new restaurant, and outstanding amenities. Our Employees

The president and CEO of the company is PETER CORBETT.

Peter is thrilled to return to his native Fairfield County and share his extensive knowledge in sports facility building and operations, which spans over 23 years. In Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, Peter has designed, constructed, and successfully run a number of sizable indoor multisport facilities. Peter is also a member of the ownership group that runs and controls five indoor tennis courts in Connecticut’s Fairfield and New Haven counties.

In addition, he helped form the National Sports Center Consortium, a membership group that promotes best practices. Additionally, more than 30 sporting facilities are marketed, funded, and sponsored, generating about $80 million in yearly revenue. Peter also owns Sage Energy Investments, a company that works with the sports facilities sector to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy. Additionally, he has been actively involved with the American Cancer Society and is the chairman of the nonprofit organization The Courage to Speak, which works to reduce youth drug use.

Director of Operations Steve Perry

For around 22 years, Steve has worked in the field of sports management. At sports complexes in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island, he served as the director of operations. He supervised more than 250 leagues, oversaw the hiring, training, and assessment of up to 100 staff members, and handled all facets of food and beverage sales. Steve oversaw the building of a 67,000 square foot indoor sports complex as well. In addition, he sought advice from a business to handle the operations. His background includes all facets of creating, managing, and maintaining a sporting facility’s operations.

Stephen Santorella, manager of programs

Stephen Santorella was raised nearby in Redding, Connecticut, where he received his education. He graduated in 2003 from Joel Barlow High School. After Barlow, he also went to Ramapo. Stephen completed his studies at College of New Jersey, where he played baseball all four years.

Stephen graduated from Manhattanville College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Management Concentration. Shortly after moving back to Redding, he returned to complete his Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy. Stephen spent three years working at Redding Elementary School where he had the opportunity to develop and implement both sport-related and non-sport related curricula. At Manhattanville, Stephen had the opportunity to create and instruct a wide variety of programs for children ages two through eighteen.

Come and try-out for Fairfield County’s PREMIER BASKETBALL program run by world renowned Coach Dave Taylor! DTX is all about player development! The purpose is to teach and develop players so they can reach their potential on and off the court! As a licensed educator, Dave wants their players to learn the fundamentals of basketball and how to play the game with the help of his coaches!

Men’s Open Basketball: 9/18/22 Next Session

  • League games begin at 7, 8, 9, and 10 p.m. on Sundays.
  • Total of 8 games are assured (including playoffs)
  • Depending on the amount of teams registering, there may be two divisions (East & West).
  • Each team must pay $950.
  • A $200 down payment is required when signing up your team.
  • Minimum roster size is eight. The third week’s rosters are finalized.
  • To participate, all participants must be at least 18 years old. When registering, birthdates must be given for verification.
  • Scorekeepers and referees with experience are available.
  • The latest standings and schedules will be available online.
  • Jerseys—cotton t-shirts with the Insports emblem and also player’s number—are given and are included in Jersey.

Basketball for Men Over 30: Next Session Starts on September 19, 2022

  • All participants must be at least 30 years old or have a 30th birthday within the current year. When registering, birthdates must be given for verification.
  • Scorekeepers and referees with experience are available.
  • The latest standings and also schedules will be available online.
  • Jerseys—cotton t-shirts with the Insports emblem and player’s number—are given and are included in the price.

Rules and Regulations

Policies & Guidelines for Adult Basketball Leagues (Revised on 8/25/21)

The team captain must communicate with their team and also assist in facilitating payments toward the team fee in order for it to be completed on schedule.

Costs & Payment Plan:

  • $950 team fee

There will be a minimum of 8 games in the league (including playoffs).

  • Upon registration, a $200 team fee deposit is required.
  • Week 1 of the league will see the remaining team cost of $375 due.
  • Week 2 of the competition will see the last $375 team fee due.
  • If teams do not adhere to the payment schedule, games may be forfeited.
  • At Insports, all purchases are final and also no refunds will be given.

Membership

We are removing the facility need of memberships to take part in our adult leagues as a result of extensive customer feedback and discussion.

As of September 2021, participation in our adult leagues DOES NOT REQUIRE AN INSPORTS MEMBERSHIP.

League/Game Format:

  • 5 v 5 full court games.
  • Games will consist of two, 20-minute halves with a running clock.

The clock will stop accordingly with a dead ball with two minutes left in each half.

The clock will restart on a foul shot once the ball makes contact with the rim.

  • The clock does not stop under any circumstance after a basket is made, other than a time out, or a referee appointed stoppage.

Referees reserve the right to add or remove time at their discretion.

  • Each team has two timeouts per half.

A time-out can NOT advance the ball at any point in the game.

Each team will receive one total timeout for all overtime periods.

Fouls:

  • Team fouls:
  • fouls = 1 & 1 bonus

10 fouls = double bonus

  • Personal Fouls

6 personal fouls will result in an individual foul-out.

A technical foul will result in two shots for the opposing team as well as possession.

  • Two technical fouls on the same person, in the same game, results in an ejection and also suspension for one game.
  • Two ejections in the same league session may result in suspension from the league indefinitely. (without refund or credit)

Forfeits:

If a team is unable to meet the payment deadline, they may receive a forfeit.

Following the week 3 roster deadline, a team may receive a forfeit for playing a player who is not listed on the roster.

If a team does to field a team of at least four players within five minutes of the game’s start time, they may be given a forfeit.

Teams may be removed from the remaining session schedule without a refund or credit if they incur two forfeits for failing to field at least 4 players for a game.

Refund Procedure

  • At Insports, all purchases are final and no refunds will be given.
  • The team fee cannot be retrospectively transferred to another team, program, or individual.
  • A player will not be entitled to a refund if they are expelled from the league or facility as a result of their behavior.

Sportsmanship

The objectives of the Insports Adult Leagues are to continue playing team sports in a pleasant, social, and competitive setting while meeting new people.

Any conduct that is deemed undesirable may result in a ban from the league or a game, with no refund or credit. Officials, referees, and other staff members will not be subjected to abuse. Insports Centers maintains the right to eject a player from a match or league if they are detracting from the enjoyment of the other players.

Fighting is not tolerated in sports. Fighting will automatically result in ejection from the game and, in most cases, permanent ejection from the league. Keep in mind that Insports can expand the welcoming and safe environment for adult leagues that we are delighted to offer with your assistance!
