    FAQs

    Who enrolls in NCTA?

An international school, a day school, and a K–12 residential school all rolled into one is NCTA. Three different categories of kids make up the student body:

    • Families that desire to send their children to a private, Christian school
    • Students from other countries that require the opportunities that NCTA provides
    • Students from low-income backgrounds who are strongly determined to succeed academically

    How did NCTA start out?

Gloria and Ed Shipman, together with their two teenage boys, Chuck and Todd brought some fugitive girls into their house. Thus starting what has since become one of the best international, boarding, and day schools in the country.

The non-profit organization initially received a 266-acre farm from the Shipman family. A few years later, another 250 acres were added, increasing the total campus size to almost 500 acres. The Academy was launched in 1975 with a small number of Students, limited resources, and lofty aspirations to create an excellent residential school.

    Does NCTA value “character” development?

Character development is emphasized at NCTA and is taught in a variety of methods. First, the Academy’s overarching goal of fostering a Christian worldview strengthens character. NCTA works to prepare students to view the entire universe through the perspective of the Bible. Students who adopt this philosophy can form a solidly Christian worldview.

The Academy’s weekly chapel services are another way that character is developed. Each student at NCTA has the chance to participate in a midweek chapel service where they can sing hymns that express their Christian beliefs and hear motivational talks from local speakers and community leaders. Students can see and learn from various Christian leaders during these chapel services.

    What city is NCTA in?

The location of North Central Texas Academy—a 500-acre working farm and campus—is among its most remarkable features. The Academy is conveniently close to Granbury, Texas, which is located south of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Students have the option to participate in the FFA/4-H program if they so want.

Llamas, alpacas, and buffalo are also free to wander the campus in enclosed areas. A complete equestrian program with an indoor riding facility is also part of the curriculum. The agricultural location also provides for a greenhouse, vegetable area, and orchard. The rural, out-of-doors environment is fantastic for pupils, many of whom are from the inner city. They can walk around on 500 pastoral acres in this area.

Is there an athletic program at NCTA?

At North Central Texas Academy, physical education aims to instill a love of fitness and exercise in students while also teaching them how to become physically fit. The focus is on motor development, fundamental movements, team and individual sports, games, relays, and cooperative activities.

The curricula for Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade emphasize the development of motor skills and basic motions. The programs for the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades concentrate on elements of team and individual sports, such as acting with excellent sportsmanship and cooperating. At NCTA, the topic of health is very significant. Given the increased occurrence of childhood obesity, it is crucial that pupils form healthy routines. Students study anatomy, safe practices, good eating, and the value of exercise.

    Basketball Academy in Texas

Do pupils engage in performing arts activities?

North Central Texas Academy is committed to assisting each pupil’s development. Both academically and artistically, this experience is significant. Students are encouraged to express themselves artistically through a variety of mediums from K–12. Including musical instruments, choir, music appreciation, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and musical theater. This training not only broadens each student’s horizons, but also fully prepares those who wish to pursue the arts in greater depth through higher education.

What kind of program is board?

Across rolling acres with a view of the valley, NCTA has lovely, homey-looking residence. Up to eight boys or girls and their Resident Parents can live in each one. The campus is open, and students can bicycle or walk to various locations, including the chapel and the animal barns.

The dependable daily schedule is one of the keys to the boarding student program’s success. Every school day, the students get up at the same hour. They eat breakfast at home and then go to school till around 3:30. Afterschool activities include sports practices, music practices, and livestock care for FFA/4H students. The campus dining center serves both lunch and dinner. After supper, there are various programs and activities as well as required study times. The students’ ages determine what time they go to bed during the week.

Each student is given daily responsibilities that improve the group’s well-being and general health. Time spent on television, music, and the internet is constrained as well as subject to content monitoring. Students are chosen based on their age for each residence of eight boys or eight girls.

Like siblings and sisters in a big family, the pupils interact also with the other residents. Strong bonds between people form. Relationships that span cultures are particularly rich and gratifying. The following are some examples of off-campus activities, particularly on the weekends: movies, shopping, musical performances, sporting events, parks, and cultural activities. Family visits are regularly organized, and students are permitted to leave school with their families.

Does “faith” have any influence at NCTA?

The program at North Central Texas Academy serves kids from all religious backgrounds and is interdenominational. Supported by very strong moral and spiritual pillars. Christian worship is held every Sunday at the West Chapel, which is perched on a hill overlooking. The campus’s Youth Minister organizes Sunday evening activities, which include contemporary music and Bible studies. Parents and visitors are welcome to attend with their kids.

Additionally, there are weekly programs centered on fellowship and teen-relevant topics. Inspirational speakers and musicians frequently visit the campus to share their experiences with the students. The Academy urges students to be morally and spiritually upright, to respect God and also their fellow human beings, and to keep up their religious practices.

    Basketball Academy in Texas

    Exist any scholarships?

The commitment to securing financial aid for any boarder who has a need sets North Central Texas Academy apart from practically all other boarding schools.

Many students who would not otherwise have the chance to make the most of their lives are able to receive the same high-quality education because to the hard work and generosity of the community. Scholarship money for disadvantaged students has typically come from the private sector for the majority of the Academy’s existence: individuals, corporations, as well as foundations. Similar to a university, the Academy also looks for underserved students with the same abilities and awards scholarships so that these highly motivated boys and girls can have the chance to learn, commit, develop, and eventually take on roles of responsibility and leadership in society.

What are NCTA’s plans for the future?

The over 40-year-old Shipman family ideal is still far from being realized. The end goal is to have 250 students enrolled each semester. That means creating an Endowment to cover a percentage of the campus’s annual operating costs is necessary in addition to generating enough money for more student housing, a larger chapel and auditorium, additional sporting facilities, and other improvements.

Raising money will always be difficult because one of the Academy’s goals is to offer enough scholarships for boarding and study based on student need. There is already a permanent endowment fund in existence. Within the endowment, there are distinct funds for music, missions, the agricultural program, athletics, as well as other things.

    Basketball Academy in Texas

    What does it mean?

This means that a donor who wants to give to the permanent endowment can also choose how they would like the money to be used. Donations made to the permanent endowment fund never expire. The ultimate objective is to create the best boarding, day, and international school in America.

“We continue to develop our program,” says Chuck Shipman, COO. “We are giving many boys and girls access to social, cultural, and academic components that they would not otherwise have”. Todd Shipman, President/CFO, adds that as the company grows and expands, “We will need a lot of help if we are to continue helping as well as educating the many students who come to our door asking for the help they need to grow, study, and have a positive effect on their world.”

    Join Blue Wave Basketball Academy

Three fathers, Shawn Legassey, Steve Haines, and Dajuan Eubanks, set out to create Blue Wave Basketball in 2011 so that their girls could play basketball in a supportive, encouraging, and challenging environment.

They began at the YMCA with a modest Skills & Drills program and soon realized that the families of Southern Maine all wanted the same things.

As their travel basketball and summer/winter leagues became increasingly popular, we had to move out of the YMCA and move into Guild Hall in Portland.

With our success validated, we expanded to 30+ teams and took advantage of a move to the Maine Basketball Academy (the former Maine Girls Academy).

    The Academy’s Viewpoint

In a supportive classroom setting, kids can develop their full athletic potential if they are taught the fundamentals properly and have a strong drive to succeed.

Blue Wave Basketball is the most popular youth basketball program in the Greater Portland area because of its emphasis on teaching players the fundamentals of the game.

    Join Atlantic Youth Sports, Inc.

At A.Y.S., Inc., our mission is to instill in our young athletes and leaders the self-assurance, teamwork, and respect that will help them achieve their full potential on and off the field.

CONFIDENCE: Each athlete, coach, and sports parent will learn how to boost their self-assurance to compete at their highest level.

Having faith in one’s own physical abilities, or self-confidence, is essential for success in any sport.

We can gain strength from the approval of others, but we must always have faith in our own ability if we are to give 100% effort in whatever we undertake.

TEAMWORK: We shall work hard to strengthen our relationships as a team and emphasize the value of cooperation.

A team’s level of cohesiveness depends on its members’ ability to share a common purpose and channel their individual successes in that direction.

An essential principle of team sports is that individual success must always take a back seat to the success of the team, and basketball does a better job than any other sport at recognizing this “sacrifice.”

Successful teams always remember that teamwork is the foundation upon which everything else is built.

We emphasize the importance of teamwork in every facet of the game and seek to instill in our players an understanding that everyone, regardless of position, contributes to the team’s success.

A key aspect of collaboration, however, is picking up your teammates when they’re having an awful day or making a mistake.

We firmly think that players can only attain their greatest potential when they have teammates who are well-versed in their respective positions and who encourage and support one another.

We will foster positive traits, recognize and reward sportsmanship, and instill a healthy reverence for competition, authority figures, and one another.

    More Information

SPORTSMANSHIP AND RESPECT: We conduct all of our basketball-related events with the utmost sportsmanship and respect.

The Madness program emphasizes having fun while playing the game seriously and with respect for its various components.

We’re firm believers in giving it our all in every game, but never letting success come at the expense of our values.

They academy will not tolerate players, coaches, or parents who show lack of sportsmanship. To compete at the top level while wearing the Madness outfit is a great honor.

Our actions reflect not only on our team, our coaches, and our families, but also on Madness Programs and the world at large.

We always show respect for the other team, the umpires, and the game itself, as well as for ourselves and our teammates.

Join The Alfond Youth and Community Center

On December 12th, 1924, the Waterville Boys Club opened, and on December 12th, 1948, the Waterville YMCA opened.

In 1972, they formed the Waterville Boys and Girls Club when the Girls Club and the Boys Club amalgamated to better serve the needs of the greater Waterville area.

The late Harold Alfond recommended merging the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club under one roof to better serve the needs of the community with a 3 to 1 match when both institutions needed upgrades.

By May of 1999, we had finished our work, and the Alfond Youth Center was home to both groups and their respective activities.

Secretary of State Colin Powell and Senator George J. Mitchell also attended the ceremony.

Having worked together, the club was able to improve its After-School Program by adding a Therapy Pool and a Six-Lane Lap Pool.

We built a three-court gymnasium, installed a rock climbing wall, and now teach karate, dance, and gymnastics.

With the 2006 addition of a second level, the AYC is now 72,000 square feet in size, making it one of the largest clubs in the United States.

The academy recently added a Boardroom, the Harold Alfond Library, the New Balance Youth Fitness Facility, and the Club Naha Karate Dojo to their upgraded youth center.

    Join Lee Academy

We also participate in a joint football and track program with a local school.

Many of our students end up joining interscholastic sports teams because they introduced them into our Health and Wellness curriculum.

At the end of the season, after 14 or 16 games, our sports teams usually participate in a tournament against other local schools of a comparable size.

Some of Lee Academy’s teams are among the best in the state, and the school regularly boasts multiple players who are in the all-conference team.

Developing our kids’ physical and mental health is a top priority, and lessons learnt in sporting settings play a crucial role in this process.

Our prep basketball team has players from the United States and all around the world, and they are among the most talented and most competitive in the country.

On their calendar are some of the best prep schools in the Northeast and Eastern Canada.

What Doug McDermott has to say about HHA and Coach Hoffman:

“The finest I’ve worked with because of his commitment to watching a lot of movies and learning the moves of some of the best players to play professionally. With Coach Hoffman’s help, I saw the most improvement in my ball handling and technique. Hoffman devotes the most time to film analysis. His commitment to the sport is unmatched.

Even if you believe you have certain things down pat, he won’t hesitate to correct you. I’ve never seen anything like the methods he employs. Some of the approaches occasionally made me uncomfortable, but at the end, everything made perfect sense to me.

Building a program that encourages moral and responsible behavior is our goal. Young athletes’ success is not appropriately assessed by victories and losses. They must be dedicated to a shared objective that represents a feeling of community, cooperation, and individual growth toward your goal in order to participate in our program. We accomplish this through in-depth lessons on leadership, tenacity, and mentoring. Success is inevitable when young people are properly instructed and have faith in their coaches, themselves, and the team.

    Viglianco Hoops

Thomas Viglianco, who I am, played basketball professionally for nine seasons, starting in Italy in 2006-2007 and finishing in 2015-2016. I have experienced a lot of blessings in my life, and basketball has enabled me to do a lot of things. I’ve always been passionate about supporting kids in achieving their objectives, both on and off the basketball floor. I believe that the information I have gained through playing basketball may be used to educate and mold the lives of young players and I am driven and eager to assist your kid in developing into a well-rounded basketball player and person.

And I have competed against and learnt from some of the finest basketball players in the world, so I am aware of what it takes to excel in the sport.

Although I was born in Washington, D.C., I consider Alabama to be my first home since my family moved there when I was a young child. My family means a lot to me. My parents helped me develop the strong ideals and values that make me the person I am today. More so, my father, who played collegiate basketball for Division 1 St. Bonaventure in New York, urged me to start playing sports, so I began playing basketball in the third grade.

I’ve always wanted to play professional basketball; it was a desire I’ve had when I was a young player and throughout my time in college. My game truly took off while I was a student at Madison, Alabama’s Bob Jones High School. As an all-state player, I competed on numerous prestigious AAU summer teams that toured the nation playing the greatest athletes. Some scouting services ranked me among the top 100 players in the nation, and I had the good fortune to be invited to the Adidas ABCD camp in

    More about Viglianco Hoops

My junior summer in high school, I traveled to New Jersey to play against the top 200 players in the country.

I chose to sign a full scholarship with Division 1 Mid-Major, William and Mary in Virginia after receiving offers from more than 20 Division 1 universities. I joined there primarily for the academics and basketball programs. Basketball is merely one aspect of my life, as I’ve already mentioned. Life off the court and my education has always been significant to me. I was top 10% in my high school class and always knew that studies came before ball. After two years at William and Mary, I decided to transfer to a different Division 1 school since that would give me the best chance to pursue my dream of playing professional basketball.

One of the hardest decisions I made as a young adult was to transfer, but it helped me grow as a person, and I was able to continue to have a great career both on and off the court at a new D-1 university, Birmingham Southern. I finished my college basketball career in 2006 after graduating from this institution with a business degree. After college, I had the good fortune to sign with a sports agency. I began my professional basketball career after college.

    More Information about Viglianco Hoops

Both personally and professionally, those nine years in basketball were crazy, exciting, and difficult. Over the past nine years, I’ve had the good fortune to play professionally in Italy, France, Denmark, Iceland, and Ireland. I’ve competed against and learnt from some of the finest players in the world, and I know what it takes to become a great basketball player. I’ve played in the top league in Italy and lived and played on the beach in the south of France.

You’re probably wondering how I got from Alabama to Nebraska. I relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska in the summer of 2007 following my debut season of professional basketball. At the time, my best friend from Alabama was living in Lincoln, and he invited me to visit and spend the summer with him. I assured him that I would, but I also needed a summer job and access to a gym. Unfortunately, I found a position with a brokerage firm and the rest is history. I now consider Nebraska to be my second home, and I adore this state!

Being 6’10 never forced me into a particular position. I actually grew up shooting forward and playing point guard, so I consider myself to be knowledgeable at every position on the court. That should give you an idea of the kind of player I am since shooting three-pointers and grabbing rebounds are both my greatest strengths and my paid specialties. Teaching youngsters the proper skills and work ethic needs to be prioritized more, in my opinion.

    More Information

Your child will learn NBA-style techniques and how to dribble behind your back five times before you shoot, according to several coaches or private instructors. Although I am capable of teaching those kinds of things, my main goal is to help your child develop the all-around basketball abilities necessary to excel in middle school, high school, and, ideally, college. Given that many players struggle with having a lot of thoughts running through their heads while practicing and playing the game, I’m also concentrating on teaching the mental part of basketball. Currently, I instruct athletes across the nation, including in Basketball Academies in Nebraska.

I founded VigliancoHoops in the brief period from August to November 2013 before departing for Europe, and I had almost 20–30 clients from all throughout the State of

Nebraska, in no time at all. I now have more than 500 clients (NBA, international, college, high school, and middle school athletes) from all across the country as of September 2022, and I’ve also worked with a number of teams. In the last six years, I’ve had more than 70 clients sign college scholarships! I am eager to impart all the knowledge I have learned over the previous 20+ years of playing basketball on your youngster.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me through the Contact Me part of the top right tab of my page if you live in Nebraska or one of the nearby states.

He left for Midland for two years before coming back to X-Edge in 2019 in a full-time sports performance position. What We Do

Since 2003, Private School Review has been devoted solely to educating parents about private schools, their advantages, and the admissions procedure. Families moving and needing to examine multiple potential schools or parents looking into various pre-college educational possibilities for their child can both benefit greatly from the website.

In order to give families the most recent information possible, schools regularly update the content on our website immediately. Families can quickly utilize our standardized forms to ask schools questions and obtain free informational materials. Schools readily reply to enquiries made from our website.

Our website strives to deliver its information in an objective manner that aids families in developing a deeper understanding of each institution. Private School Review does not currently (and never will) list schools in order of overall quality. We think there isn’t a single “best” school because every student has different needs and preferences. Families will make a better school choice by using the information on our website than they would have if they had relied solely on an overall ranking of schools.

Boarding School Review, the top website for assessing private secondary boarding schools, and Public School Review, a special source for investigating public schools across the USA, are partners in Private School Review. The goal of this network of websites is to inform and guide families in selecting the finest pre-college educational options for their kids.

    Football Academy at PGC

Provide an edge for your child this season.

Despite AAU basketball and personal trainers, the majority of players don’t succeed because they aren’t talented, confident, or big enough.

Don’t let your kid experience this.

Players learn how to outsmart opponents and play bigger than their stature at a PGC camp, which helps them form teams, stand out, and reach their full potential.

Does PGC Fit Your Child’s Needs?

PGC camps are attended by about 14,500 players annually, ranging from middle school to college, however PGC is not for every player.

PGC is just for committed players that are committed to improving.

Although we still have a lot of fun, your child doesn’t need to take themselves too seriously to benefit from our camps; they only need to appreciate working hard and challenging their preconceived notions in order to gain new abilities.

Find out if PGC might be a good fit for you by taking our quick test.

We offer options for competition, skill development, and training in a fun setting. Within the game of basketball and the larger community, we encourage and build a culture of pride, commitment, and respect.

    Domestic junior contests

The Vermont Vultures are a local team in the Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA Inc.), which is a part of Basketball Victoria, Victoria’s top basketball regulating organization.

We enter teams in the Junior Domestic Midweek and Saturday Competitions at all levels, beginning with Under 8s. The Greater Eastern Basketball Conference is another name for the Saturday contest (GEBC).

Only on weeknights do all junior training sessions take place. We try to give younger age groups as many early timeslots as we can.

The number of teams in each age level and the number of coaches, though, both play a major role in this.

Each team is given a 1-hour training period as a general rule, within the following hours:

    • 4:30–6:30 for children under eight
    • 4:30 to 7:30 pm for children under 10
    • 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm for those under 12
    • 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for minors
    • Ages 16 and older: 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The club currently uses several locations for training:

    • Vermont Primary School, 3133 Nurlendi Road
    • Vermont Secondary College is located at 27 Morack Road in Vermont.
    • Forest Hill College, 178 Mahoneys Rd, Forest Hill 3131
    • Mullauna College, 456 Springfield Rd, Mitcham 3132
    • Eva Burrows College, 100 Maidstone St, Ringwood 3134
    • Rangeview Primary School, 27 Churinga Ave, Mitcham 3132
    • Nunawading Basketball Stadium, East Burwood Reserve, Burwood Highway, East Burwood 3151

Coaches send requests to the club’s venue manager with their choice training day, time, and location before the beginning of each season, and this details is utilized to provide the best practice timeslot for each squad.

Right before the commencement of the season, the team manager will inform the players and their families of the specifics of the assigned training session.

    Crucial Info About Team Selection

    Weekend competitions (GEBC)

    Ages 8 and below

Teams are generally determined by buddy requests, school-based groups, and birthdate. The experience and skill of the player will be taken into account.

    Under 12

Attention switches from buddy requests, school-based groups, and date of birth to a heavier emphasis on skill set, expertise, and team balance.

    14 to under 18

Depending on each player’s skill set and positional aptitude, balanced teams are intended to be clearly structured.

    Competitions held midweek (FNJ/MWJ)

    Every age range

The main factors used to choose teams are requests and friendship networks.

    Extra Points to Take

The Club is aware that there can be exceptional situations that call for further attention. If this is necessary, we ask that it be communicated in writing through email to clubadmin@vermontvultures.org.au as soon as your child has been registered. All simple demands will be taken into account but there is no assurance that they will be fulfilled.

Additionally, there may be situations when a parent questions the team their child has been assigned to or objects to it. Furthermore, we ask that you send this to clubadmin@vermontvultures.org.au in written form. This makes sure we understand the request’s or concern’s nature and can respond to it appropriately.

After teams are chosen, their names, together with that of their coaches and team managers, if any, will be posted on our website. They will subsequently be communicated to the team manager and coach, who will subsequently get in touch with the team as necessary.

    Uniforms

    Here you are:

To compete in games, every Vermont Vultures player must acquire a playing uniform (singlet and shorts).

A uniform set, consisting of a singlet and shorts, costs $90. When placing an online order through the link below, kindly select the Playing Uniform alternative. The singlet costs $60 and the shorts cost $40 when bought individually.

Here is a link to purchase club-approved gear, including uniforms and other items:

    Please be aware:

Singlet numbers are assigned to players by the Club. When ordering, you can specify up to three chosen singlet numbers, however keep in mind that they may not be available for the player’s age group as a whole, not just the squad they are playing on.

The club does not support the sale of used uniforms, however if you do, you must get in touch with the uniform coordinator to make sure the singlet number is still accessible and register the player before the uniform may be worn during matches.

Each month’s uniform order cycles end on the 15th, and it takes about 4-5 weeks for them to be created and sent to the club. You will receive an email or SMS when your order is prepared for pickup.

    Here you are:

    Enrollment

The following are the club’s enrollment costs for the two seasons (summer and winter):

    • First kid: $110
    • Second child: $80
    • $50 for additional children
    • Less than 8 players: $80
    • Free registration for new girls ages 8 to 10 players.
    • Team not in training: $60#
    • NOTE – The aforementioned discount rates only exist when all siblings enroll at the same time and in the same deal, and they call for the entry of a specific discount code at registration.

To get this code, email clubadmin@vermontvultures.org.au.

Refunds will be given to team managers to use toward future team sheet fees at the conclusion of grading. The upfront fee for enrollment must be in whole. Team managers, if this applies to your group, kindly let venuesmanager@vermontvultures.org.au know that your group does not require a training session to be reserved for it for the current season.

Notice – Special registration code required for discount. Kindly reach out.
    For the code, email clubadmin@vermontvultures.org.au.

To aid in the coordination of getting teams on the court for their first game, the Round 1 team sheet charge is now included in the registration fee mentioned above.

If you play in both the Winter and Summer seasons, Basketball Victoria likewise levies a $25 annual membership fee that is added on top of the club’s registration expenses.

    Game day

The team manager must pay the $84 team sheet cost every game using the Teammo app right before the game, which is in addition to the joining fee. The cost is distributed equally among the team’s members, so a team of eight players would pay $10.50 for each match. The stadium entrance charge for athletes, parents, family members, and friends is now included in the team sheet fee.

After reaching the stadium, there is no longer a fee per individual.

Every team management collects this charge in a distinct manner, and they will let you know at the beginning of the season what they want. The team management must be paid in order for a player to be considered “financially sound,” and they will not be allowed to play until this is resolved.

The fundamental abilities of the sport are the foundation around which the Wisconsin Academy bases its training program. The discipline and confidence of a team can be developed by focusing on the fundamentals. Our basketball players may develop their abilities and reach their objectives by consistently working on the fundamentals. JOE CHAPMAN’S BIO

Chicago, Illinois, is where I was born.

    College: Bloom Township (1998-2002)

    Marquette University, a college ( 2002-2006)

Joe was born and reared in Chicago’s South Side. He frequently accompanied his father and brother to several courts in the region when he was younger, which finally introduced him to basketball. Although Joe’s upbringing in a poor neighborhood wasn’t always ideal, he eventually flourished because to the stability that basketball provided. Joe was a two-time first-team all-state selection at Bloom, a McDonald’s All-American nominee, and the school’s all-time leading scorer. After that, Joe played for four years at Marquette, where his freshman year saw him make it to the Final Four. He shared the court with Wes Matthews, Steve Novak, Travis Diener and Dwyane Wade.

After that, he played professionally for 11 years in 8 different nations.

Joe started working at Marquette Camps, coaching high school Summer league, and training high school athletes during the summers he would spend at home. He made the choice to officially retire from professional basketball in 2016 and pursue training/mentoring full-time as more and more training chances started to present themselves. CBA has expanded significantly over the past four years, offering not only training but also camps, leagues, and club teams. Joe, his wife Carolyn, and their three boys, Joseph, Stephan, and Trevor, live in the Ozaukee County region.

As a coach, it’s simple to lose focus on what’s most crucial. It’s not always about doing things well or getting the job done. Finding ways to grow and learn from each situation is important. preparing kids for life in general, not just the game of basketball. The most crucial aspect is to impart life lessons to players. Teach kids how to overcome challenges and be joyful. Teach them how to live honorably and confidently. Show them how to be wonderful teammates and friends.

    Philosophy

Everyone is capable! Our mission is to use the game of basketball to help mold the lives of each child since each one is precious and unique. Our training session will offer practical instruction with a focus on detail from top-tier professional players and coaches. In addition, we’ll give a video analysis of every game our youngsters play. Our objective is to improve each child’s basketball skills, but more significantly, to improve their character.

    Our Purpose

The goal of CBA is to create a structured atmosphere where young people may grow as people and athletes. Our children will have the exceptional chance to get instruction and guidance from elite basketball coaches and players in the NBA. Along with emphasizing the talent, we will also go into great detail about ways to improve each child. We will provide a hands-on approach to learning and enhancing each player’s general skills through practices, clinics, and film analysis. We think that the true success of the season isn’t determined by wins and losses alone, but also by the players’ development in terms of attitude, talent, and work ethic.

    Multiple-sport athletes:

We are aware that the majority of our athletes will play numerous sports during the AAU season. Athletes who play multiple sports have fewer chances of experiencing emotional and physical burnout. Players benefit from exposure to various children and roles. CBA wants all children to enjoy sports and gain new experiences.

    Players’ Expectations:

Players must act and speak with courtesy; fighting and coarse language are not permitted.

This program’s participation is a privilege, not a right. Playing time must be earned via a commitment to developing your basketball talents and hard effort.

Players must show up on time and prepared to begin practice. It is acceptable to arrive 15 minutes early for practice.

Each player entering a tournament must wear their full uniform (Jersey, Shorts, Shooting Shirt).

We urge that CBA players only participate for one club/AAU basketball team during the Spring and Summer seasons, and that team is CBA, in order to foster dedication, what it means to be a good teammate, and minimize physical burnout.

Respect all spectators, officials, CBA players, rivals, and coaches (CBA or otherwise).

    Parents’ Expectations:

They are the focus of this encounter, not you.

Encourage your youngster to speak up for themselves. It is expected that if a youngster has a problem or doesn’t understand something, they will speak with the coach. If the issue is still unresolved, the parent is more than welcome to schedule a private meeting with a member of the coaching staff. It is improper to approach coaches before, during, or after a practice or game.

    Rules of Gameday

Tom found two of them particularly poignant: “I wish I would have taken greater career chances, and I wish I would have done more to improve people’s lives, particularly kids.”

“I questioned whether I was following my calling,” Tom reflects. I didn’t believe that being a corporate CFO was my calling.

As a result, Tom left Hirshfield’s and joined forces with erstwhile Timberwolves player Chris Carr to launch 43 Hoops, a tribute to Chris’ jersey number and his mother’s age at the time of his birth.

A little, tenacious eighth-grader from Minnetonka who would ultimately receive a Division I football scholarship was 43 Hoops’ first client when it first debuted in April 2007.

The next year, CLUB 43 Volleyball was established.

Since then, hundreds of student-athletes of all skill levels have had access to elite coaches and trainers through 43 Hoops and CLUB 43, which has grown to be the area’s top facility for the development of basketball and volleyball players. Its main location in Hopkins houses hardwood courts that are the appropriate size and also productivity training services provided by Wellefast. The building has plenty of free parking as well as a roomy lobby with refreshments, televisions, and free Wi-Fi.

There are additionally a number of off-site classes in particular locations all across the Twin Cities metro area.

Tom fully acquired 43 Hoops in the spring of 2016. Tom like to always remain in the background and is uncomfortable with being the focal point in this fashion. But Tom is proud of his team and 43 Hoops’ dedication to using basketball and volleyball to test and motivate athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Tom explains, “Sports will teach you that life is not fair. It’s crucial for youngsters to know this.” “You might not be the team’s star player. You might not play often. But resist the urge to give up. Do your best at all times and accept the part you play on the team.

ALL PROGRAMS SKILLS TRAINING FALL LEAGUE

    Director Andrew Dahl

Hoops Training was created by combining my two loves, basketball and teaching. I adore helping young athletes develop their self-confidence via my work with boys and girls of all ages. And finally, enhancing their enjoyment of this fantastic game!

My basketball career started at Cottonwood, Minnesota’s Lakeview High School.

There, I received honors for All-Conference and All-Area (Class of 2000). My playing career was eventually cut short by a leg injury after I transferred to Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I founded Hoops Training in the summer of 2009 with the intention of assisting athletes in developing into great shooters and more comprehensive players after working as an instructor and coach for a Twin Cities-based basketball organization from 2005 to 2009. I’m confident that any athlete’s performance will significantly increase because to my history in basketball and my ability to teach and deconstruct both fundamental and advanced skill sets.

I presently serve as the Lester Prairie Bulldogs’ head boys varsity basketball coach.

Every great athlete in history has gotten where they are by honing their skills to perfection.

Perfection is the end result of progress. When you notice yourself getting better at your craft with each new session of practice, you have taken the first necessary step toward mastery.
