Since we really care about each participant’s progress both on and off the court, we sincerely love developing important relationships with each one of them. The Next Level Basketball Academy differs from other programs in that we recognise that, despite the fact that most student-athletes have the desire to be the greatest, there is no “cookie cutter” method for everyone to follow in order to attain their objectives. Through sports-specific I.Q. growth and personal performance breakdown, we meet each person where they are in order to help them reach THE NEXT LEVEL as student-athletes.

Association of North Dakota High School Activities (NDHSAA)

The first conference of school superintendents was convened on January 1, 1908, in Grand Forks, to ratify the “League’s” constitution. As stated in the original Constitution, the aim is as specified: “The High School League of North Dakota shall be the name of the organization to which we, the undersigned, voluntarily commit to constitute ourselves. to oversee and advance the objectives of sports and literary competitions.” Superintendent G.W. Hanna of the Valley City Public Schools was chosen to preside over that meeting. At first, the President’s office served as the hub for all Association operations.

    The NDHSAA’s mission is to:

The North Dakota High School Activities Association’s mission is to support North Dakota high school students’ education by:

    • Managing an interscholastic program of events, clinics, competitions, and festivals among its member schools.
    • Raising the bar for great sportsmanship and encouraging the development of good citizenship, not just among high school students however also among everyone else who interacts with school programs.
    • Guarding against the exploitation of member schools, students, and staff by special interest groups.
    • Promoting academic achievement pride as the cornerstone of a well-rounded activities program.
    • Adding to the school’s drama, literature, music, and physical education programs and placing proper emphasis on those trends that appear to have the best chance of advancing all students’ social, mental, and physical health.

    Background of NDHSAA

Athletics were not a part of the secondary school curriculum in the 1800s; instead, clubs like the YMCA ran these events. Student athletic associations were first established by students in schools at the turn of the century.

They were created primarily for leisure, with the overarching goal of “fun.” The players, managers, and game times were all chosen by the students. The teams’ high schools were identified by name, but the schools took no part for planning and running the program.

When disagreements emerged, however, being specifically linked to schools created considerable humiliation. It wasn’t long before adults with an athletic interest wanted to play alongside kids on these teams as the athletic rivalry amongst student sports clubs started to get increased recognition. Non-schoolers who had previously shown an aptitude in coaching teams also played on the teams they were coaching.

Even when some schools started using teachers as coaches, several of them continued to participate in competitions. In fact, initial teams in our home state of North Dakota often included students, coaches, bus drivers, and janitors. Boys or young men would often register in school in the autumn and discontinue their studies after the football season was done. They may continue doing this for more than 6 years.

Certain schools started competing when a few started using teachers as coaches. In actuality, early teams in our home state of North Dakota sometimes include students, coaches, bus drivers, and janitors. Boys or young men would often register in school in the autumn and discontinue their studies after the football season was done. They may continue doing this for more than 6 years.

The adoption of the three-point line for boys’ basketball in the 1981–82 season and for girls in the autumn of 1983 were two significant innovations that put North Dakota on the cutting edge of the country. The shot clock was tested by Class A boys’ basketball coaches in 1995–96, and they started using it in 1996–97.

Then, in 2002–03, the shift to the autumn for girls’ volleyball and the winter for girls’ basketball occurred, which had a significant impact on the whole state. Comparing Association finances from the beginning to the current is equally fascinating. The North Dakota High School League’s first three years saw a budget that varied from $30 to $45. The budget for 1982–1983 was about half a million dollars, and the budget for 2007–2008 is well over a million dollars.

Softball was introduced as a spring sport in 2008-2009.

Boys’ B basketball and Girls’ B basketball have their seasons switched in 2010–11, with the B Boys’ season starting and ending before the Girls’ season.

    Shoot Fargo 360

Craig embarked on a mission to combine basketball instruction, technology, and video games for the perfect basketball training and competitive encounter with colleagues Kirk Hendricks, Jurgen Achterbosch, and Steve Landis.

We are dedicated to the sport of basketball and have concentrated on setting higher standards for practice and competition on a worldwide scale. Ministry of Cross-Training

Short version: This is what we do.

A coach will have a greater influence on individuals in a year than the ordinary person will in a lifetime, according to the late Billy Graham. Actually, not only coaches have an influence on the next generation. All do. However over time, we’ve discovered that sports provide a fantastic platform for interacting with players, coaches, and parents. In a word, we help athletes develop spiritually in addition to their physical fitness.

    Mission

The aim of what we do is very straightforward. On the playing field of contest, give players the best coaching possible while sharing life-changing Christian values off the playing field. Briefly put, we support athletes in achieving accomplishment in their athletics and spiritual lives.

However, God, who is going to that?

It’s amusing how God speaks to people via dreams. Some people have visions.

Some people have pals who provide them the truth. This ministry had its humble beginnings on a piece of paper during a lunchtime conversation in the winter of 1994. That afternoon’s conversation was on ministry and the possibility of spreading the gospel via the medium of sports. The aspirations for a Christian basketball camp quickly came true. We started talking to individuals about our idea armed with enthusiasm.

Little did we know that not everyone would share our enthusiasm for the concept. Some would ask, “Who’s going to that?” Others questioned, “Why are you mixing sports and God?”

Thankfully, notwithstanding the first reaction, we kept moving ahead. … what began as a half-day basketball camp with 74 participants has grown into a full-fledged sports ministry that works with hundreds of players both on and off the field. Who’s going to that? asked the whole globe. God answered, “Everybody.”

“I’m extremely appreciative that my kids have the chance to participate in Cross Training. This organization is skilled in engaging children, surrounding them with a Christian community, and leading them toward an intimacy with Jesus. In addition, they offer excellent coaching and practice opportunities in volleyball, football, and basketball.”

    ~ Shawna G (mom)

    Your True Identity.

In this lifetime, your actual identity is not as an athlete, according to Cross Training. A disciple of Christ is who you are, whereas being an athlete is what you do. You are a son of the supreme Lord first and foremost (Galatians 3:26). You are a saintly anointed one who is meant to alter the world.

As to the Bible, “However, the anointing that you got from Him abides in you, so you are not in need of instruction. However stay in Him because what His anointing teaches you about everything is genuine and is not a lie, just as it has taught you.”

    (1 John 2:27)

You have the ability to represent the gospel as an ambassador thanks to his gift. A stand-in for Jesus. An individual who makes the cross’s suffering and the hope it gives clear. Teaching people that via His physical resurrection from the dead, they would also experience spiritual rebirth.

Therefore, don’t be fooled when you tie on your shoes, put on your cleats, pull on your swim hat, or put on your uniform. While the name on your jersey is a physical representation of the sports team you “play for,” the name on your heart is a sacred witness to the Savior.

Based in Bismarck, North Dakota, Cross Training is a nondenominational, Christ-centered sports ministry. Through camps, mission trips, discipleship groups, and our I PLAY FOR HIM online network, Cross Training has reached to tens of thousands of children for more than 20 years.

    Family YMCA of Minot

    Our Y

In 1943, the Minot Family YMCA started off small as a bible study. Proposals were created a short while afterwards to construct a facility in the heart of Minot.

At this point, the Colin Brown Y’s Men’s Club was established to aid in raising funds for the new structure.

The YMCA was established downtown in 1949 at the intersection of First and First. Eventually, this building functioned as temporary lodging for homecoming recruits from the war. Giving young men someplace to go and participate in healthful pastimes besides drinking at the neighborhood bar.

The Y started looking at ideas for resident camps in 1960. The Triangle Y Camp was then built on picturesque Lake Sakakawea close to Garrison with assistance from the Minot Y’s Men’s Club, who helped collect money for it.

As time went on, the YMCA began to accept women as members. This prompted the development of our Women’s Health Center and other women’s activities.

We rapidly outgrown our location, and in 1996 preparations were made to develop a new building and move.

The present building was constructed and made accessible to the public in 2001. The YMCA grew by building an expansion in 2008 that included a second gym, a climbing wall, training studios, extra locker rooms, and other amenities.

A local company called Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports (PGAS), which is based out of the YMCA facility and is a joint owner of it, and the YMCA engaged into a strategic relationship in 2022. In addition to actively participating in YMCA programming events to guarantee they are adapted, PGAS developed a pediatric occupational and physical therapy facility there.

    Mission

The Minot Family YMCA’s mission is to foster the cultivation of Christian character and to support the development of a Christian society through the provision of programs and services that foster physical, social, mental, and spiritual development.

To put Christian values into reality via initiatives that promote everyone’s spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.

    Our Purpose

We are aware that collaboration is the key to achieving long-lasting individual and societal transformation. Because of this, the Y’s mission is to build community. Every day, we collaborate with our neighborhoods to ensure that everyone has the chance to learn, develop, and flourish, irrespective of age, economic level, or background.

    Our Priority

We think that in order to affect real change in people, families, and our society, we need to be committed and responsible. Our 3 areas of focus—youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility—are how we gauge the effectiveness of our mission. That’s because investing in our children, our health, and our neighbors is the best way to build a thriving community.

    Setting out our focal points:

    • Youth Development: Nurturing each child’s and teen’s potential.
    • Healthy Living: Increasing the country’s wellbeing and health.
    • Social responsibility: Supporting and helping our neighbors.

Everybody may join the YMCA. Our projects, services, and programs assist individuals achieve greater physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, provide opportunities for families to have great times together, assist children reach their full potential, embrace and accept immigrants, and promote a culture of community service. BRETT’S COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Basketball coaching is something I am PASSIONATE about doing as a TEACHER. Building relationships with athletes, parents, and coworkers is a priority for me. The ability to communicate honestly and openly cannot exist without these connections. As a result, you won’t be able to teach and coach to the level necessary to unlock the full potential of your players until you have established a foundation of trust and open communication. This is something I have learned over the course of my years of coaching and teaching.

Players are more likely to be able to make the most of their inherent talents when taking part in game circumstances if you emphasize the value of mastering the fundamentals and treat them as students of the game.

This post describes the OBC policies and practices that the administrative and coaching staff will follow. It serves as a year-round reference for coaches, parents, and players. The academy expects players to compete and be aware of and adhering to the policies and requires parents to sign related consent forms when enrolling their athlete. Please read it carefully and in its entirety.

     Purpose, Vision, and Values

We wish to contribute to our neighborhood. We feel that teaching youngsters the game of basketball and the principles linked with it is the finest use of our passion and abilities. Children who are educated to learn, love, and work hard will contribute to and become the kind of community we want to live in, in our opinion. In order to achieve this, we collaborate with the student athlete, their parents, and their school coaches to help them reach their full potential and provide them with the tools they need to find a position.

In order to fully realize a student athlete’s potential, instill the fundamental abilities needed to move up the playing levels. OBC athletes are regularly assessed and given feedback on their strengths and potential growth areas. It includes using basketball as a metaphor for real-life situations and crucible moments, where time is set apart to talk about experiences and impart wisdom.

Projecting and connecting the athlete to the highest level of competition they are capable of contributing to—whether that be high school varsity, collegiately, or professionally—involves navigating the path to placement. In order to fight for and promote the athlete and secure scholarships for those who qualify our coaching team makes use of their extensive network of coaching contacts at all levels.

Our abbreviation for the life lessons we teach our players, W.O.R.K., stands for our values. When a player’s playing career is over, we think these values will help them develop a passion for the sport that will lead them to become a coach, a referee, or an informed fan.

    Club Principles

    We Don’t Pursue Players

Players are not pursued by OBC. We have seen the unfulfilled expectations that follow young athletes changing programs or schools because they refuse to face the reality that they have character flaws or gaps in their game that can’t be fixed by moving. We don’t want to “come up” or find the “best” players in order to win at any costs. Also, we don’t go on vacation for selfish reasons. We travel when needed for middle school or high school teams’ preparation or development, or for recruitment purposes for our high school teams.

    We Don’t Play Games

OBC is not a club that only cares about having fun and giving everyone a trophy regardless of who wins or loses. Our teams play and compete to win. All players will have the chance to play in games because teams are limited in size, but players decide how much time they spend on the field based on their performance. In light of this, the coach will assign playing time during contests that provide the team with the best opportunity to compete and for individual growth.

     Training

Our top aim is finding the best coaches to teach the game. We want to share our experience with OBC players because we have learned from some of the top college and professional coaches. Every coach has been examined and approved. Experienced, competent, upbeat yet demanding, passionate, considerate, well-prepared, able to communicate, and most importantly, ready and able to teach are qualities that OBC demands of our coaches.

    Success vs. Winning

“While society frequently views winning as the most coveted result of sport, a coach’s singular focus on winning might devalue every other deserving result of an athlete’s participation in sports. Nothing wrong with wanting to win and our club puts in the effort and training with that expectation. All teams would choose to win if given the chance, but not at any cost. Being focused and being obsessed are two distinct things. The methods used to construct a squad matter more than its win-loss record. We value success in addition to other outcomes.

Everyone has the potential to succeed, according to what we preach. Player development is aided by putting an emphasis on character attributes like dedication, perseverance, and hard effort rather than just the competition’s conclusion. Each player plays a specific team role that is equally important to the success of the entire team. The Lake Norman Volleyball Club Policies and Procedures Handbook states that placing more emphasis on the process and variables under the players’ actual control than on the result (scoring) “nurtures the athlete and ultimately leads to winning.” The qualities in our acronym W.O.R.K., which we continually attempt to emphasize in competition and which we believe will continue to benefit players long after their basketball careers are done, are what we at OBC define as success for our players.

    Work ethic

It’s important to reiterate that we think that potential can develop via hard work and we prefer working with athletes who focus on the long-term process of improvement rather than immediate results. Enjoying skill improvement as much as or more than games is a sign of a strong work ethic. It entails appreciating the game for what it is, independent of what it offers or what society adds to it.

    Ownership

A hallmark of personal maturity is taking ownership of the result and accepting responsibility for one’s actions. It takes a lot of practice to develop the ability to overcome challenges and keep going when they arise. Obstacles in youth basketball can take many different forms, including a turnover or missed shot, defeat, poor officials, a lack of playing time, etc. In contrast to elements beyond their control, such as attitude and effort, we instruct players to take responsibility for the things they can manage.

    Respect

Show respect for your parents, your teammates, your opponent, the officials, and the game. One of the biggest challenges facing today’s youngsters is learning to compete and battle for what you want rather than expecting it to be given to you. To gain playing time and win games, our players must be tough and aggressive.

Keep in mind that basketball is just a game. Fun is the goal. Due to pressure, parents, coaches, etc., youth basketball competitions frequently take the pleasure out of the game. We want to make sure the game is still enjoyable. Although there may be some challenging moments, playing kids’ basketball should be enjoyable generally. It’s satisfying and enjoyable to learn how to compete and realize that the world is rough, but you are tougher!

    Membership & Registration Procedures

Beginners looking to improve their skills and intermediate or advanced players looking to play are both welcome at OBC. To give our players the greatest experience possible, we divide teams by gender, age/grade requirements, location, and skill level. Please be aware that factors like as player skill, gym availability, and coaching ability have an impact on team composition. OBC retains the right to at any time change the teams it offers.

     Divisions by Teams

OBC anticipates fielding teams for boys and girls in grades 2 through 12 in each grade. The teams will typically be established according to ability level if there are enough participants at assessments to form many teams in a single grade and area. We think this enables players with all skill levels to make the most of their playing and practicing time, ultimately leading to growth.

    Assessments

Team evaluations take place all year long. A player commits to signing up for that season if they make the squad and accept their berth on it.

     General

By February 15th, we will publish evaluation-related material on our website. There will be two evaluation sessions per grade and venue.

Players must show up for one evaluation session in order to be considered for selection, but we encourage them to come to both if they can. OBC will conduct a quick sequence of drills and scrimmages to give players the best chance to showcase their abilities.

    The Sign-Up Procedure

You can register for evaluations at www.obc.work/registration.

     Evaluation Methodology

All evaluations are off-limits to spectators due to capacity restrictions. Warm-ups are done before evaluations, which are preceded by a brief introduction and explanation. The players then engage in a variety of workouts and scrimmages. Throughout the process, OBC assesses players on a variety of talents, including fundamentals like shooting and ball handling as well as intangibles like effort, IQ, attitude, etc.

     Expectations from parents

It is solely the parent’s responsibility to make sure their child is appropriately registered and dressed for assessments. Your athlete’s chances of making the team might be hampered if you don’t accomplish this. Please write an email before assessments if parents have any questions about the coaching staff, the game schedule, player fees, or OBC in general. Once more, NO assessments are open to observers. Please make appropriate transportation arrangements.

    Team Choice

     Process for Notification

Within 24 hours of the final evaluation session, OBC will email each participant. Please check your spam or garbage bin if you don’t receive an email.

Contact support@obc.work if you do not receive the notification email. The notification will include information on the team, such as the roster choice, coach, schedule, etc.

Selected players have 24 hours to accept or reject their roster slot.

The roster will be communicated to players via the email address they used to register, and it will be emphasized to them during evaluations that they should check the email within 24 hours after the last evaluation session.

    Recognition

All athletes during assessments are expected to accept their roster spot on any club, should it be offered to them. Please notify OBC staff right once if a player decides they do not want to be taken into consideration for a team at any point throughout the evaluation period.

After that, players and parents will have 24 hours to sign up for the season or buy a yearly membership and team items from the website. The player’s spot on the team could be forfeited if any of the aforementioned requirements are not met.

Once a player’s parents sign up for the season or buy an annual membership, the player’s acceptance is official, and they are in charge of paying the registration fee or annual membership regardless of whether they opt to pay in full or in installments.

No payments will be stopped or refunds issued for any reason other than those covered under our injury policy (see section 4.6.1).

How to Join Henderson’s Skyhawks Sports Academy

Our goal is to use sports to teach important life lessons. Skyhawks had the idea that every youngster should enjoy and profit from sports forty years ago.

Jeff Heimbigner realized in 1979 that kids with different degrees of athletic ability did not have the same access to learning sport-specific techniques as committed participants or talented young athletes. Sadly, these kids did not have the best environments in which to learn sport-specific skills, have fun, stay safe, and take those lessons home and implement them to their daily lives. Several of these kids wanted to be great players. Every youngster should be able to enjoy and profit from athletics, according to Jeff. “Teaching life skills via athletics” is the company’s mission statement, which Jeff wrote.

His mission and vision were clear, and the Skyhawks Sports Academy was established.

When Skyhawks Sports Academy first began, it was a regional soccer league with a Northwest emphasis. Over time, the camps gained prominence and produced some incredible athletes and lovely people. These Skyhawks soccer camps placed a strong emphasis on important life principles like sportsmanship, collaboration, and accepting defeat with class.

As the years went by, Skyhawks continued to stay loyal to its mission and vision. By adding more sports and more secure, enjoyable, and skill-focused camps for sports. Including basketball, flag football, volleyball, and baseball. Skyhawks currently provides camps, clinics, leagues, multi-sport programs, and even Mini-Hawk® programs for players as young as 4 years old in over ten various sports.

Boys and girls from all across North America, coaches, and long-term coworkers of Skyhawks have made memorable moments over the past four decades.

More Details about Henderson’s Skyhawks Sports Academy

The goal of Skyhawks Athletics Academy is to educate life skills via sports, which is what we value most.

Skyhawks Sports Academy’s growth has been an amazing experience for everyone engaged, and we hope to keep changing the world, one child at a time.

Coach BJ Mumford (Founder and Chief Coach)

I was homeschooled from kindergarten through the 12th grade, I didn’t play basketball until I was 12, and I was only 5’3″ tall in seventh grade, which upset me a lot because my sister was 14 years old. I first began playing basketball with a group of 12- to 18-year-old homeschoolers, some of them were as tall as 6’6.” Because I was small, inexperienced, and anxious under pressure, I took the hot-potato strategy, passing the ball to someone who was more qualified as quickly as possible.

I gained 11 inches in height between the ages of 13 and 15, growing to a league-standard 6’4″ center. I was untrained when I first started out and had to continually adjust because of how fast I was growing.

As you might expect, all of the homeschool coaches were volunteer parents doing their best to lead a professional team. Even though I got better during my time in high school, I was still mostly a “trash man,” whose key role was to clean up failed shots and throw them back in the basket.

Those who can’t do, instruct… So I became a head coach immediately!

Our camp focuses on the essentials of sports while offering entertaining teaching.

    Join Merrimack Youth Association (MYA)

The Merrimack Youth Association was founded to provide community youth with recreational opportunities. It was established in 1968, and in 1971 the federal government officially recognized it as a non-profit business. The Association’s influence extends to children in kindergarten through their senior year of high school.

Every year, this all-volunteer organization serves the community for more than 125,000 hours. Every year, it enter into an agreement with the Town of Merrimack to offer youngsters in the community organized recreational sports. Baseball, basketball, football/cheer, lacrosse, soccer, softball, and wrestling are the seven sports that the MYA now offers to the community.

Each program is in charge of its own budget and has a separate board of directors.

The Executive Board, which oversees all MYA Programming and communicates with the Town appropriately, receives monthly reports from all programs.

All Merrimack schoolchildren have the chance to engage in sports through the MYA, regardless of their ability or willingness to do so. This gives the kids the chance to interact with their friends around the Town and gives the parents access to a social network. More than 30,000 adolescents have been assisted by the MYA over the years, and throughout this time the Association has garnered recognition from numerous communities in New England and elsewhere for its solid administrative relationships and helpful influence on the neighborhood.

The MYA shows how the best interests of the Town of Merrimack and all of its residents may coexist. The Merrimack Youth Alliance will proceed to do good work with the help of the Town of Merrimack, the Merrimack School District, and also its corporate neighbors and volunteering network.

the potential to transform our area into two full-size basketball courts over a field
the season of summer. In addition to the HitTrax program, golf simulator, and ESA Fitness Center/Weight Room. We have seven specifically designated batting cages where elite athletes can train all year long.

The fact that our facility was “constructed different” makes us happy. Although we designed it for local athletes, the parent/family environment is where we put a lot of our attention.

We have invested a great deal of time in athletic infrastructure across the state as parents of young athletes. With families in consideration, we designed Elite Sports Academy to offer a cozy spot to plug in and get some jobs completed on our field view mezzanine. Customers can as well unwind and watch Television whilst checking up on the players as they play and practice.

Parents are welcome to use our fitness center, which offers a complete view of our main field and courts.

Additionally, fans can join a league and PLAY TO WIN by scheduling a tee time in our golf simulator.

Granite State Elite Baseball, Granite State Elite Softball, Revolution United Sports, NH Comets Softball, No Wasted Reps Basketball, Northern New England Soccer Club, Black Bear Lacrosse, and more are just a few of the teams that ESA is happy to host!!

Actual game play and league play throughout the winter in our facility.

Onxy Athletics, which has created programs especially for our players, will offer certified strength and conditioning services.

Being local residents who are presently the owners of ESA, we are thrilled to offer our company to the neighborhood.

For many coming years, we hope to offer the neighborhood an Elite Level Training Facility!
