If you wish to sign up for the VfL Bochum FC Youth Academy tryouts, mark your calendar on December. This is when it takes place. Players will be placed on one of three teams depending on their birth year. However, this is after the registration is completed. The academy has scheduled another tryout for January. Nevertheless, they will dispense further information as at the time and location for the tryout.

What are the necessary requirements for application?

There are quite a number of important requirements to be met by aspirants. Those that are interested in joining the VfL Bochum Youth Academy must meet the following requirements:

• Be between the ages of six and eighteen years old.
• Devout yourself to training sessions and games. This happens when you have passion for football.
• Currently residing in or near Bochum, Germany.
• Participating in the VfL Bochum academy’s training program.
• Being in an excellent physical shape and condition.
• Ability to work well with others in a team.
• Show zeal and passion by putting in the time and effort to improve your football tactics.

An Overview Of The Junior VfL Department

Many professional players have come out of this youth section of VfL Bochum 1848 known as the “Talentwerk.” There are at least ten divisions in our ‘Talentwerk’, which spans the ages of 9 to 19.

The ‘Talentwerk‘ focuses primarily on three areas: the training of our regular players and goalkeepers, the development of our young and enthusiastic coaches, and the scouting sector. Healthy relationship between professional divisions and “Talentwerk” is becoming more prominent since the start of this season.

Additional areas of focus include: sports psychology, educational support, private intensive care and social education. Also, it cuts across; video analysis, performance diagnostics, athletic training, medical and physiotherapeutic care. Lastly, assistance to players and employees in the field of social media, and a comprehensive taxi service for our talents is of great importance.

Having witnessed all these, it is clear that VfL Bochum 1848 is ensuring that its players experience the best and most competent training procedures.

As of the summer of 2015, when the U23 was deregistered, the U19 and U17 of Talentwerk are the highest-ranked teams from which players make the professional ranks. ‘Talentwerk’ coaches and top players from the U19 and U17 ‘Talentwerk’ teams take part in our professional training sessions, from time to time.

To this effect, the players from the ‘Talentwerk’ will be able to further understand and imbibe our football philosophy. At the same time, get the platform to unveil what they have in stock in terms of skills and abilities in the professional squad.

Alexander Richter is the chairman of the ‘Talentwerk’ while Timo Saviano is the manager. David Siebers handles the U13-U16 while Simon Schuchert oversees the U9-U12 category.
