AC Horsens

A professional Danish football team called AC Horsens competes in the Danish Superliga. They perform at Horsens’ Casa Arena. As a superstructure of Horsens fS, Stensballe IK, and FC Horsens, the club was thus established in 1994. Later, just Horsens fS left in the collaboration after Stensballe IK and FC Horsens both quit.

AC Horsens’ Background

Horsens fS had finished sixth in the 1994–1995 1st Division season when the new squad began to play in 1994. Thus, AC Horsens became eligible to compete in the 1994 Qualifying League for promotion to the 1994–95 Superliga.

AC Horsens missed out on the chance to receive an automatic promotion to the Superliga since they only won two of their 14 games and placed bottom in the Qualifying League.

After Demotion

The team played in the 2nd Division for two seasons before being re-admitted to the Danish Superliga.

The team was on the verge of being demoted to the 2nd Division after the winter break midway through the season, but a strong finish to the campaign achieved an 11th place finish, seven points clear of the bottom three.

Before ultimately being promoted to the Superliga in 2005, the team was demoted to the 2nd Division in 1994, 2001, and 2003. They are renowned for having a solid defense because they scored 41 goals in 33 games.

SuperLiga

In the Superliga of 2006–07, AC Horsens quickly pulled ahead of Vejle Boldklub as well as Silkeborg IF, two teams fighting for relegation. A string of impressive performances in the spring of 2007 was also followed by a string of dismal losses and draws.

Before heading abroad, Askou played for a number of Danish clubs. Kasmpaşa in Turkey came first, then Norwich City in England. He then relocated to Denmark to play for Vejle BK. He committed to Esbjerg for two years in August 2013.

Career as a Player

Askou, a Videbaek native, started his professional career at Ikast FS before transferring to Holstebro Boldklub in 2002.

Following a successful trial, his performance led to a contract with Silkeborg IF of the 1st Division in the summer of 2003. During his debut season, he assisted the team in gaining promotion to the Danish Superliga. being a regular for four years as a result. Ask also moved to Turkish football with Kasampaşa in 2007 after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract with SIF.

Norwich City

Then, on July 27, manager Bryan Gunn declared that he had extended a contract offer to Asko. The two-year contract Askou had signed with Norwich was however made public on July 30.

Why was he dismissed?

Asko made a one-month loan move to fellow Championship team Millwall in January 2011. Also for a two-footed lunge on Yakubu against Leicester City on his debut, he was dismissed.

He only played once for the team, and in February he went back to Norwich. He did not return to his parent club either, and the club released him after his contract expired

Boldklub Vejle Kolding

In August 2011, Askou agreed to a two-year deal with Vejle Boldklub Kolding in the Danish first division.

He made 55 games for Vejle during his time there and was named club captain in the summer of 2012.

On August 2, 2013, Askou however agreed to a two-year contract with Esbjerg in the Danish Superliga for an unknown sum.

Career as a Coach and Others

Asko joined Skive IK as the playing assistant manager in 2015. He accepted the same post at Thisted FC a year later.

At Vendsyssel FF, Askou was also appointed Erik Rasmussen’s deputy manager in June 2017. Asko took over as manager when Rasmussen announced his resignation on May 8th, 2018.

Asko was fired following an overall loss to AC Horsens in the Danish Superliga relegation play-off games.

Career as a Manager

Asko joined Denmark Series 4 amateur team TIF All Stars in October 2019.

It was however announced at the beginning of November 2019 that Askou would take over as manager of HB Thorshavn in the Faroe Islands on December 1, 2019.

On December 5, 2020, a year later, he and HB Tórshavn had won the double. Consequently, the Faroe Islands Cup was won after first winning the Faroe Islands Premier League. He also received the Faroese Association of Football Managers’ award for best football manager in the Faroe Islands for 2020.

He departed Torshavn in January 2021 to take over as manager of AC Horsens, a failing Superliga team in Denmark.

Pyramids FC

Cairo-based Pyramids Football Club is an Egyptian professional football team. The highest league in the Egyptian football league system, the Egyptian Premier League, is where it competes.

Originally established in Beni Seuf in 2008 as Al Assiouty Sport, the club was acquired and relocated to Cairo in 2018. Home games for Pyramids FC are held at the 30 June Stadium.

In 2008, Al Assiouty Sport, a club, was established in Beni Seuf.

2014 was the club’s first promotion to the Egyptian Premier League. They were demoted in their first season despite finishing 19th. They were promoted back to the Premier League after winning Group A of the Second Division in 2016–17.

Reign of Pyramids FC: 2018-present

Al Assiouty Sport was purchased by Turki Al Sheikh, the chairman of the Saudi Sports Authority, in the summer of 2018. After several disputes, Al Sheikh previously resigned from his role as president. Beni Seuf sold the club to him.

Pyramids FC became the new name of the squad, and the club relocated 400 kilometers to Cairo. Former Botafogo coach Alberto Valentim was named as the new manager, along with former Al Ahly coach Hossam El Badry serving as the club’s chairman and spokesperson.

Pyramids finished third in the Egyptian Premier League in their inaugural campaign under the new moniker. Thus earning a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup for 2019–20. They competed in the 2019 Egypt Cup but lost. Salem Al Shamsi, an Emirati businessman, bought the club’s ownership in July 2019.

Participating in African Tournaments

Pyramids, who were taking part in a continental competition for the first time, advanced to the Confederation Cup final of the 2019–20 CAF. Despite beginning the competition in its opening rounds, this was the case.

They advanced to the First Round by winning their group after defeating Étoile du Congo, CR Belouizdad, and Young Africans in the qualifying rounds. Enugu Rangers, FC Nouadhibou, and Al-Masry were also on the team, and they all won save for one game.
