    Burnley erected a hybrid grass (Desso GrassMaster) field in 2010 for £750,000 (equal to £980,000 in 2022). Thus it substituted the real grass that is cut up in the winter. The stadium seats 21,944, or about one seats for every three residents, one of the greatest distributions in English football.

    The North Stand dates from 1996. It can hold roughly 8,000 people and spans parallel to the pitch. However, the television crane and media stand are behind the North. The stand’s apartment has been permitted for civil weddings and banquets since 2005.

    Crystal Palace Stadium 

     In 1905, the Crystal Palace Company which owned the FA Cup Final venue situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, wanted a professional club to play there and tap into the vast crowd potential of the area. Crystal Palace football club was formed by them to play at the stadium. In 1915, the club were forced to move by the Admiralty when the Palace and grounds were seized by the army during the First World War. Although other clubs had offered the use of their ground to Palace, the club preferred to remain as close as possible to their natural catchment. They moved to Herne Hill Velodrome temporarily. Croydon Common F.C. was dissolved in 1917 and Palace took over their old stadium located at the Nest, but they began acquisition of the land of their current home, Selhurst Park in 1919.

    Archibald Leitch, a renowned stadium architect got the contract to draw up plans. They completed Selhurst Park in time for the 1924–25 season. In 1969, they built the Arthur Wait Stand and became an all-seater. Until then, the stadium has only seen lights improvement and routine maintenance. In the early 1980s, they built a Sainsbury’s supermarket, club offices and a club shop. That was the period of the Whitehorse Lane End’s renovation.

    In 1990,  Arthur Wait Stand became an all-seater. However, in 1994, a fresh two-tier stand replaced the Holmesdale Terrace. In 1979, Selhurst Park’s record attendance was 51,482. Presently, the ground’s capacity is 26,309 after all renovations and safety requirements.

    In 2011,they made proposals to move the club back to their original home at the Crystal Palace National Stadium. After the club gained promotion to the Premier League in 2013, there has been a renewed focus on rebuilding Selhurst Park into a 40,000 seater stadium. On the 19th of April 2018, the amendment plan got approval at a Croydon Council meeting for a new 13,500-seater Main Stand (extending the overall stadium capacity to 34,000).

     Crystal Palace have a fan base predominantly from the South London, Kent, and Surrey areas. Until the London Government Act 1963 saw Greater London contain Croydon, the Selhurst Park was within Surrey’s borders and their original home at the Crystal Palace was on the boundary with Kent. The Holmesdale Road Stand, in which the ultras group the Holmesdale die-hard fans which have been based since 2005 is where the club’s passionate support at home games comes from predominantly.     Actor, writer and producer John Salthouse was on the books of Palace as a player from 1968 to 1970 under the name of John Lewis, and was also a mascot for the club as a child. He incorporated the club into his role as Tony in Abigail’s Party. The television presenter Susanna Reid revealed her love of Palace while taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, and visited Selhurst Park for inspiration.

    Those In Charge Of Crystal Palace

    The Crystal Palace Company created amateur and professional clubs. Sydney Bourne was the first chairman of the professional Crystal Palace club. After reviewing records of FA Cup Final tickets, Club secretary, Edmund Goodman found him. Goodman noticed his name as one that had bought several tickets every year, and so met with Bourne and found him very agreeable to the idea of the new club. He was the chairman by-election, at the club’s first-ever meeting by the board of directors. Also, he was in the position of chairman till his death in 1930.

    Bourne’s death took along a series of short-term chairmanship appointments: Louis Bellatti (1930–35), R.S. Flew (1935), Carey Burnett (1935– 36), E.T. Truett (1936-39), before Percy Harper’s reign (1939–50). Local builder Arthur Wait established a consortium of seven other businessmen to purchase the club in 1949, and took over from Harper in 1950, initially rotating the chairmanship. In 1958, Wait became the permanent chairman until 1972 when Raymond Bloye took over.

    Bloye presided until 26 January 1981, when property developer Ron Noades and his consortium took control of the club. Noades eventually sold the club to Mark Goldberg on 5 June 1998, becoming the second longest-serving Palace chairman behind Sydney Bourne. Although Noades was still the owner of Selhurst Park, he leased it to the club.

    Goldberg’s tenure was unsuccessful and Palace entered administration in March 1999. Fans made a group they know as the Crystal Palace Supporters’ Trust. The reason was to gain control of the club, but millionaire and lifelong fan Simon Jordan negotiated a deal with creditors and the administrator, and a new company, CPFC 2000 took control. This company entered administration in January 2010 and presided until June of that year. Then, a consortium of four wealthy fans called CPFC 2010 took over.

    With a 25% share of the company belonging to each of them, CPFC 2010 consisted of Steve Parish, Martin Long, Stephen Browett and Jeremy Hosking. In August 2010, the four successfully had a negotiation on a takeover with the administrator Brendan Guilfoyle from the P&A Partnership. Also, company creditors made an acceptance of a company voluntary arrangement. They also made an acquisition of Selhurst  Park by the consortium, from Lloyds Bank after a demonstration by fans. This put pressure on the bank to agree on terms.

    American investors Josh Harris and David Blitzer signed a new deal with the club on  18th December 2015. The club stated that Steve Parish would continue as chairman alongside Harris and Blitzer as general partners in a new structure, and that Browett, Long and Hosking would also retain a substantial investment.

    The company accounts later show that the ownership figures were: Steve Parish 18%, Steve Browett 5%, Jeremy Hosking 5% and Martin Long 2.5% with the remainder being in possession of Palace Holdco LP (a limited partnership registered in Delaware) 67.5% and Palace Parallel LLC (a company also registered in Delaware) 1.5%. Both Palace Holdco and Palace Parallel have 180 preference shares each. Steve Parish confirmed that each of Harris and Blitzer had an 18% share to match his own, but the exact ownership of the club is unknown as Delaware companies do not reveal their owner. 

    John Textor, another American investor, joined as a fourth partner with an investment of £87.5 million for 40% ownership of the club in August 2021.

    Sheikh Tayeb El Okbi, of which the son Djamel will be USM Alger’s goalkeeper, leads the Islamic Reform Movement (El Islah).     All through World War II, the tournament structure in the League Algiers was modified to 3 groups, and Abderrahman Ibrir, an ex AST Alger center-half, had become a goalkeeper with USMA and had his 1st collection of Algiers under USMA colors. USM Alger negotiated with a set of players, including Zitouni Hassen, Zouaoui Rabah, Mahmoudi Smain, Naceri M’hamed, and Houari GS In 1939–40 season. USM Alger was featured for the 1st moment in the first tier. But due to World War II, the tournament was split into 3 categories where USM Alger agreed to sign in group A.

    The team performance was poor so they managed to win only two matches against the same team US Alger. And he was beaten in 9 games in which he could not confront the big players then like RU Alger and AS Saint Eugène. Finally, they came in second to be last whether in Coupe de la Ligue or Coup d’Or. Formal races resume in 1942. USMA moves to the third tier for the 1942–43 season. El-Hadj Ahmed Kemmat gets involved.

    How The Academy Maps Out Its Skill Training Schedule

    This well-structured program organized in partnership with our association is run in different locations across Sydney each school term. Players of all abilities are assisted to improve their own four Core Skills to improve their weekly club game. Players improve individually and practice newly learned techniques in their club matches. This is due to the holistic approach used by our Coaches to develop these four skills in game situations.

    The Academy On Development Level

    Schedules For The Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP)

    Sydney FC strongly believes the local associations or NPL arm is the best place for young players between 9-12 years of age to develop their skills weekly. As a result, the club does not run SAP or advanced programs for this age group.

    The Sydney FC Academy Training Schedule

    This year-long program is run across 40 weeks as a development program where players are offered an opportunity to train once weekly. While also participating in their SAP commitment in one centralized Sydney FC location. Prior to the start of the Academy from 13yrs and up, it offers these players an opportunity to train under the Sydney FC Youth philosophy. Expert coaches who work or have worked within the Sydney FC Academy run this program.

    AGE GROUP: 10-13-year-old boys & 12-14-year-old girls.

    ABILITY: Open to those who are currently part of SAP or Development squads at their local association or NPL club. By application and selection only.

    RUNS: Year-round Term 4 to Term 3, applications open in August each year.

    In 2015, the Sydney FC Academy Schools Network began full operation under the vision, philosophy, and delivery of the Sydney FC Academy.     AGE GROUP: Year 7-12 (High School Students)

    ABILITY:  Selections after applications and trials are based on Sydney FC and School opinion, as academic standards may also apply. In general, the application and trial process takes place in Terms 1 and 2 for students entering Year 7 the following year.  Entry points and trials for students in other years vary based upon availability.

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Applications by the public are not accepted by our Academy. Sydney FC finds talents by working all year round with scouts and our local associations.     Sydney FC Academy’s Participation In The 2021 NPL

    The Sydney FC Academy teams will participate in the U13, U14, U15, and U16 age groups in the FNSW NPL Youth Tier 1 competition. They will make use of players aged between 15 and 20 to compete in the NPL 1 U18, U20, and 1st Grade competitions.

    The Screening And Selection Program

    Sydney FC selects players for its academy by working with a network of scouts observing NPL 1 and 2 fixtures since the Pre-season in February.     About The Youth System Of Sydney FC

    The youth system of Sydney FC is the Sydney Football Club Youth. It is based in Moore Park, Sydney, Australia. The Sydney Youth play consists of U23 players who compete in the highest level of youth soccer in Australia, the Y-League. (November to February.) The club’s U21 also competes in the National Premier Leagues NSW (March to August), the top competition of Football in NSW. It is a completely different team from the Sydney Youth, involving different team selection and age groups.

    The Background Of The Youth Team

    Early Years (2008–2009)

    The youth team was founded as a Sydney FC representative team for the National Youth League (NYL) competition in 2008. Twelve contracted youth players consisted of the team, plus four overage players from the senior team allowed to play. Football superstar Adam Hett who was previously contracted by the club suffered a season-ending knee injury.

    Under former Socceroo & NSL Stalwart, Steve O’Connor, Sydney FC Youth won the 2008-09 NYL Championship in its first season. The side finished the regular season on top with 13 wins, 2 draws, and just 3 losses.     The Achievement Of The Managers (2009–2015)

    Club legend Steve Corica replaced Steve O’Connor as head coach after the second season. The team had mixed success after finishing fourth with 30 points behind Gold Coast United FC Youth on 41 points. The competition did not have a final series for the first time.     The Return Of Steve Corica

    Steve Corica then returned as head coach for Sydney FC Youth with immediate success. In the 2013-14 season, the team won the Foxtel National Youth League Championship. Corica again left to focus on his role within the senior squad after a failure to repeat this performance the following year.

    Emergence Into The National Premier Leagues (2014–present)

    It was confirmed that Sydney FC would compete in the NPL NSW 2 competition from the 2016 season onwards in early 2015. Football NSW recommended the youth sides of Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers, and Central Coast Mariners to join the National Premier Leagues followed a competition review. An under-20 and under-18 team would also compete in their appropriate age groups, along with a team playing first grade.

    PHILOSOPHY OF ACADEMY PLAYING AND COACHING

    The underlying beliefs that underlie all we do within our surroundings define our football coaching philosophy.

    “Every individual from U9 to U23 will be developed holistically as both a person and a player,” according to our ethos.

    We take pleasure in being able to accommodate the demands of every single athlete at every level of their growth.

    Our performance The philosophy is based on the first team’s Key Principles of Play and on player development with the necessary qualities to fulfil the needs of the contemporary and future games. Our concept for the game stays consistent at Blackburn Rovers as we develop our ‘Identity,’ often known as ‘The Rovers Way.’

    The cornerstones of all our club and teams represent are ‘Arte et Labore’ through talent and hard effort. We specialize in the education and improvement of fresh homegrown talent and offer a clear roadmap for them to get to our first team.
    Our playing mentality must be ingrained throughout our Academy system in order for athletes to make a seamless transition to the senior level.
    Our ideal play styles are those of the first team, although we are not bound by them since we are flexible and adaptive in our approaches; the only non-negotiables are that our Key Principles stay the same.

    Our coaching philosophy includes the key elements needed to produce autonomous, creative, and self-reliant athletes who will flourish in our training and athletics package.

    Under-23 and Academy Blackburn Rovers
    Academy and Under-23s are Blackburn Rovers’ junior squads. Blackburn Rovers Academy is Category 1. Billy Barr is the Under 23’s manager after Damien Johnson was promoted.

    Football TD. Billy Barr has coached various Blackburn young teams. Notably the U18s, and several of the 23s athletes had worked for him for years. The group was promoted from Premier League 2 Division 2 in 2017/18.

    Stuart Jones is the new Academy Director of Blackburn Rovers. The Under 23s play at Leyland, Preston’s Lancashire FA County Ground.
    Players from local academies like Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton now make up the squad. Lewis Travis, John Buckley, Joe RankinCostello, and Joe Grayson have joined Tony Mowbray’s first team (son of former Blackburn player – now Blackpool manager Simon Grayson).

    Blackburn Rover India Academy

    The company wanted to build a school in India. The club is establishing a centre of excellence near Pune, 100 kilometers (60 miles) from Mumbai, according to the managing director.

    Venky’s B. Balaji Rao said, “We’re building an academy and stadium in Pune.” “The location will be operational in a year-and-a-half to two years along the Mumbai-Pune route.” Rao claimed the academy on the outskirts of town would operate like a Rovers training facility in Brockhall, England, accepting youngsters aged 11 and 12. But as of 2016, no academy or stadium was available.

    Blackburn Rovers’ history

    Infancy

    Blackburn Rovers’ first game was on 11 December 1875 at Church, Lancashire.
    Blackburn Rovers joined the Lancashire Football Association on September 28, 1878. On 1 November 1879, the club thrashed the Tyne Association Football Club 5–1. Rovers were eliminated in the third round by Nottingham Forest, 6–0.

    Throughout 1881–82, the club maintained renting Alexandra Meadows however looked forward to transfering. As the local leader, Rovers required its own stadium. A field near Leamington Street was rented, and £500 was spent on a new grandstand seating 600–700. A massive ornate entry arch was created with the club and ground’s names to avoid a repetition of the crowd conflict with Darwen.

    In 1882, they got defeated by Old Etonians in the FA Cup final.

    Rovers beat Queens Park 2–1 to win the FA Cup in 1884. (Glasgow). Blackburn Rovers won the following season’s final 2–0. They won the FA Cup in 1886, beating West Bromwich Albion on penalties.

    2000

    Jack Walker, Blackburn’s benefactor, passed in August 2000, and 9 months afterwards the club got promoted. Blackburn achieved their inaugural League Cup in 2001–02, defeating Tottenham 2–1 at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. Notwithstanding being in a playoff fight, they ended 10th in the league.

    Under Graeme Souness in 2003 and Mark Hughes in 2006, Blackburn finished sixth in the Premier League.
    In 2005 and 2007, they reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

    Rovers replaced Craig Bellamy with Benni McCarthy after qualifying for Europe. Rovers won their European group and were paired with Bayer Leverkusen, losing 3–2. The team signed David Dunn, Stephen Warnock, Christopher Samba, and Bruno Berner in January. Dominic Matteo, Andy Taylor, Joe Garner, Lucas Neill, and Jay McEveley all left the team. Rovers were beaten in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup. In the FA Cup, they beat Everton, Luton, Arsenal (after a replay) and City. Then they lost 2–1 to Chelsea in additional time after Michael Ballack scored.

    McCarthy scored 18 league goals for 10th-place Rovers. The club progressed for the Intertoto Cup and drew Vilnius’ FK Vetra.

    Roque Santa Cruz, Maceo Rigters, and Gunnar Nielsen joined Rovers for 2007–08. Robbie Savage joined Derby in Jan 2008 for £1.5m (increasing to £2m). Santa Cruz scored 23 goals in all competitions with Rovers, who never finished below the top ten.

    Paul Ince signed a three-year agreement to replace Mark Hughes as Rovers manager on 22 June 2008. Ince met with the media on 24-June. Ince’s first assignment as Blackburn manager is to convince footballers who wanted to accompany Hughes to remain.

    Ince’s debut match as Blackburn Rovers manager was a 3–2 victory away against Everton FC. Blackburn drew 1–1 with Hull before losing to West Ham and Arsenal. After two victories over Fulham and Newcastle United, Blackburn slipped to 19th in the rankings after 16 games, with three draws and seven losses. This pressured Ince, who won the Carling Cup against Everton and Sunderland. Ince got fired after a 3–0 loss at Wigan.

    Ex Bolton manager Sam Allardyce took over. Allardyce ensured Premier League survival, and after a slow start, Rovers finished 10th with 50 points, 20 points above the drop region.

    2010-present

    V H Group acquired Blackburn Rovers for £23 million in November 2010. To substitute Sam Allardyce, the new management hired first-team coach Steve Kean, originally on a short term basis, however by January 2011 he had been signed up until June 2013. Jerome Anderson, Kean’s agent, advised Venky’s throughout the team’s acquisition months before Kean’s hiring.

    Blackburn Rovers made a £18.6m pre-tax deficit for the year ended June 30, 2011. Blackburn Rovers’ proprietors promised an ongoing investment even if they were eliminated. On 7 May 2012, the team was dropped from the Championship after losing to Wigan Athletic in the last match of the season.
    Management gave former relegation manager Steve Kean a chance to earn promotion and keep his position in 2012–2013. Fans had been asking for his dismissal for months, and he finally resigned on 29 September 2012. Blackburn’s current boss, Tony Mowbray, arrived right before relegation to League One in 2017. Blackburn gained advancement on their first try and have stayed in the Championship since.

    On May 2, 2022, it was confirmed that Jake Hicks will succeed Tony Mowbray as manager at the conclusion of the season.

    Stadium

    Ewood Park

    Ewood Park (/iwd/) is a football stadium in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, and home to Blackburn Rovers F.C. It has a seating of 31,367 with 4 segments: the Bryan Douglas Darwen End, Riverside Stand (on the banks of the River Darwen), Ronnie ClaytonBlackburn End, and Jack Walker Stand, named for Blackburn businessman and club fan Jack Walker. The stadium’s football field is 115 by 76 yards (105 by 69 meters).

    Former wood

    Rovers contested in four games there when it was named Ewood Bridge and presumably just a field. On 9 April 1881, they played Sheffield Wednesday.
    In the 1880s, Ewood Park hosted football, sports, and greyhound racing (not oval). Rovers signed a ten-year lease in 1890 for £60 per year. In September, they played Accrington. In 1893, Blackburn Rovers purchased the freehold of the pitch for £2500, however a pavilion crumbled under the pressure of 20,000 Everton fans.

    Darwen End’s roof cost £1,680 to build in 1903. 12,000 people packed the stand.
    In 1904, Archibald Leitch’s £24,000 Nuttall Street Stand was completed.

    In 1905, Laurence Cotton became chairman and revamped the team and stadium. In 1906, building began on a newly built stand seating 4,112 on its top tier with a grandstand for 9,320 in front and dressing facilities and offices beneath, angled to parallel Nuttall Street.

    Ewood’s “Remake”

    After trading Walkersteel for £330 million, Jack Walker bought Blackburn Rovers and rebuilt Ewood Park. Walker put forward a proposal to reconstruct the three other sides of Ewood Park in June 1992, after gaining total ownership of the club at the close of the 1990–91 season and funding the building of a new stand to substitute the Riverside Stand three years before. By February 1994, two-tiered Blackburn and Darwen End stands with car spaces were erected. This involves demolishing terraced residences in Nuttall Street and Fernhurst Mill.

    In August 1994, the Jack Walker Pavilion replaced the previous Nuttall Street Stand.

    This new stadium was a suitable home for the soon-to-be English champions. Blackburn Rovers inaugurated Ewood Park in 1995 by beating Nottingham Forest 7–0.

    Jack Walker’s signature appears on Ewood’s largest stand. It contains 11,000 seats and was erected amid Ewood Park’s 1990s renovation. Its Nuttall Street neighbors got damaged.

    Functions

    Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers, also hosted the 1941 Football League War Cup Final Replay. In 1891 and 1924, England played Scotland and Wales at the stadium.

    Throughout 1893 and 1947, the arena hosted six FA Cup semi-finals. Ewood Park staged a rugby league test match between Great Britain and New Zealand on November 9, 2002, as part of their visit of the United Kingdom and France. With 16,654 spectators, the visitors triumphed 30-16. The pitch has also organized a number of England U21 internationals, notably the 2004 match between England and Wales. However during Women’s Euro 2005 campaign, the stadium held three games: two England group matches and the finale. Rovers Organization, the club’s official fans trust, effectively filed to certify the stadium as an Asset of Community Value in 2014. Elton John performed a pop performance on the grounds in June 2017.

    Blackburn United Community Sport Club inaugurated the stadium on May 2, 2022, enabling Muslims to conduct the Eid al-Fitr prayer.

    Requirements

    Before a young player can be accepted into the club, he must first be in the right place at the right time. That is players should take note of the days for open try out and be available for them. Most of the time, players are usually accepted into the club through AC Millan Academy scouts who are always present at such tryouts. You can also be accepted into the club through special drafting.

    Inter Milan Youth Development System

    As stated earlier, Inter Millan Youth sector is a sub-set of Inter Millan FC. They have played and won several games including the Campionato Primavera 1. Now we will discuss this tournament extensively.

    Campionato Primavera 1

    The Campionato Primavera 1 created in the 2017-18 season is an Italian Youth Football competition. It was also given a name, Campionato Primavera 1 TIM in posthumous honor of Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti because of his sponsorship of the club.

    Campionato Primavera was created by splitting Campionato Nazionale Primavera into two leagues: Campionato Primavera 1 and Campionato Primavera 2. The two leagues were organized by Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A and Lega Nazionale Professionisti B respectively.

    The Elite Academy Inter Millan.

    The Inter Millan Academy has a youth division known as Inter Millan Elite Academy. This division contains 7 teams and they are; U19 Primavera, U18 Berretti, U17 Serie A/B, U16 Serie A/B, U14 Giovanissim Regional, and U13 Giovanissim.     The Suning Youth Development Centre was built in loving memory of Giacinto Facchetti. It is situated in the heart of the Youth Academy and is around 30,000 square meters in the large “Parco Nord di Milano”.

    Inter Millan Academy

    Inter Millan Academy

    As stated earlier, Inter-Academy is just an extension of Inter Millan’s Youth Academy. All academic activities follow the laid down rules by Inter Corporate Policy for Children majorly to protect each child. The club is well known because of the effort its coaches put in to ensure that each player becomes what they hope to become; Professional Players and also their many wins on the field.

    Program detail:

    The major reason why the Inter-Academy was formed is to specifically train youngsters irrespective of their gender as long as they are from 3 – to 17 years old. They create high standards for the players to meet. The Academy also has a Pre School Program: Early Learning.

    After careful consideration and observation, the Youth Academy in Italy sends out a team of dedicated and hardworking coaches to the Inter-Academy. The Inter-Academy Staff manages all the programs in the academy. Inter Academy partners are also not left behind in all of these benefits as the Academy offers them a unique cutting edge experience through technical, digital, and marketing support.

    Inter Millan Camps

    The Academy offers a chance to meet with the coaches one on one for about a week. All youth players from ages 6 to 17 get an equal shot at the Inter-Academy Camp. The Club’s selected Inter-Academy Coaches are in charge of all the sessions in the camp. All assistant coaches also get a copy of the syllabus before the start of any activity.

    Inter Millan Experience

    Just like the Camp, Inter Millan Experience is also one week program for youth players from ages 8 – to 17 who want to live a Nerazzurri Experience while receiving high standard specific training in the facilities in Millan. There is usually a tour of the facility, a Matchday experience, and a lot more exciting activities.

    Inter Millan Early Learning Program

    This program was formed for children. By paying special attention to their Cognitive-kinetic development, children can now play sports, engage in Soccer School activities, and learn with excellent results. The program provides an excellent foundation by reducing learning time in other to develop and nurture new upcoming talent. The Physical Educators for this program also o through a 3-year process before they can develop any child.

    The Inter-Academy found a way to make learning all fun and games involving both parents and children to show them that games can also be an efficient learning tool. This method also develops the kid’s coordinative skills, social skills, and cognitive learning.

    The Inter-Academy provides diet tips to the Early Learning Program as the nutrition habits of the 3 – 5-year-olds begin to develop.

    Stadium

    The Stadium was named after Inter Millan’s former player, Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. However, it is commonly known as San Siro which is the district where it is located. The stadium is made up of 75,923 seats.

    Piero Pirelli Millan’s then Chairman personally funded the construction and has been the home of Millan since 1926.

    After 13 and half months, the building was finally complete and was owned by a club until 1935 when it was sold to the city. It took about 120 workers to construct the stadium. Inter was eventually accepted as a joint tenant in 1947.

    The first game played at the stadium was a friendly match on 19 September 1926 between Inter and Millan in which Inter won by 3 goals. That same day, Millan played its first league game against Sampierdarenese and also lost. The stadium was renovated in preparation for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and its 35,000 seat capacity was increased to 85,700 all covered with a polycarbonate roof. Its capacity was however reduced to 80,018 in 2008 to meet the new standards that were set by UEFA.

    Inter Millan FC

    Inter Millan or Internazionale Milano as known to the Italians is a Millan-based Italian Football club in Lombardy. Since its debut in 1909, Inter is the only Italian club that has competed in the top flight of Italian Football. The club was founded in the year 1908 and has since then won 33 domestic trophies; 19 league titles, 8 Coppa Italia, and 6 Supercoppa Italiana. It is also important to note that the club won its first championship in 1910 after the separation of Millan Cricket and Football Club which is now known as AC Millan.

    They have since then won the championship title 3 times; two consecutive years, 1964 and 1965, and then 2010. The club had also won 5 successive leagues from 2006 to 2010 which was a record at the time. In the same year, Inter won Coppa Italia and Scudetto and this made them record breakers as this has never been done before in the history of Italian Football. The club has also gone ahead to win 3 UEFA Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups, and 1 FIFA World Cup.

    Inter has two rivals; AC Millan and Juventus. They contest the Derby d’Italia with the latter and Derby Della Madonnina with the former. They however share the San Siro stadium with AC Millan and this is where their home games are played. The rivalry with AC Millan is the most widely followed and anticipated derbies in the history of Football. Inter had the highest home game attendance in Italy in 2019 and was the 6th highest in Europe. It is the most valuable Italian Football club and is one of the highest in the world too.

    History of Inter Millan

    The Early Years (1908 – 1960)

    Founded in 1908 0n the 9th of March, it was known as Football Club Internazionale after the separation of the Millan Cricket and football club. The founding members of the club wanted a club that would accept not just Italian players but also players from other countries so they gave it that name. Virgilio Fossati who was killed in battle in the Italian Army during World War I 1 led the club to their first-ever Championship win in 1910 as the coach. They didn’t win another till 10 years later. Sometime in 1922, Inter was almost displaced to the Second Division but after winning two playoffs, they managed to remain at the top.

    The club was renamed Societa Sportiva Ambrosiana after it was forced to merge with the Unione Sportiva Milanese during the Fascist era.

    The club’s jersey was inspired by the city’s flag and coat of arms which was a White Jersey with a Red cross inscribed on it. However, when Oreste Simonotti became the Chairman, he brought back the normal Black and Blue Jersey and also changed the club’s name to Associazione Sportiva Ambrosiana. Because supporters continued to call it Inter, the new Chairman in 1931, Pozzani gave in to pressure and renamed the club Associazione Sportiva Ambrosiana-Inter.

    Giuseppe Meazza led the club to its first Italian Cup win in 1938-39. He also led the team to a 5th Championship in 1940 while injured and at the end of World War II, the club won its 6th and 7th Championship in 1953 and 1954 respectively. They also regained their original name.

    Grande Inter (1960-1967)

    Inter had a new manager in 1960, Helenio Herrera who joined from Barcelona. He brought his award-winning midfielder Luiz Suarez with him. Helen’s mission was to make Inter the greatest team in Europe with the help of the European Footballer of the year, Suarez. He made the flexibility for counterattacks greater by amending a 5-3-2 tactic known as the “verrou” (door bolt). Karl Rappan who was an Australian Coach invented the Catenaccio system. Rappan’s system was played with Four fixed defenders who play a strict man-to-man marking system and a playmaker in the middle of the field who played together with two midfield wings. This system was modified by Herrera who added a fifth defender and a sweeper or libero behind the two center backs. A sweeper is a free man and he deals with any attacker that goes through the two center backs.  The first, second, and third seasons in the Seria A had Inter finishing in the Third, Second, and First place respectively. This was followed by a consecutive European Cup Victory. All of these wins gave Herrera the title “il Mao” (The Wizard).

In the final of the European club, Johan Cruyff’s Ajax scored two goals against Inter thereby defeating them for the first time in 5 years. Between 1977 and 1982, Inter added another 2 Coppa to its Italian tally.

    In 1989, Inter again coped Seria A Championship led by German Duo Andreas Brehme and Lothar Matthaus; and Argentine Ramon Diaz. Although they couldn’t retain their position as champions even after adding fellow German Jurgen Klinsman, they won their first Supercoppa Italiana at the end of the season.

    Mixed Fortunes (1991-2004)

    The 1990s wasn’t a great period for Inter because while their rivals, Ac Millan and Juventus were thriving and making numbers, there were going around in circles, maintaining the same average positions in their domestic leagues. In the 1993-34 season, they had their very worse moment as they ended the season just one point away from being relegated. They still won three UEFA cups in 1991, 1994, and 1998.

    After Massimo Moratti took over from Ernest Pellegrini in 1995, Inter broke the world record transfer fee twice. The deals were 19.5 million Euros for Ronaldo from Barcelona in 1977 and 31 million Euros for Christian Vieri from Lazio in 1979. Simoni had just received the manager of the year award a day before he was unjustly relieved of his duties as coach. Inter didn’t qualify for any European competition that season for the first time in about 10 years. They eventually finished 8th place.

    Marcello Lippi, former Juventus manager was appointed the following year by Moratti. He also signed in new players like Angelo Peruzzi and Laurent Blanc. He also brought in Vieri and Vladimir Jugovic who were former Juventus players. For the first time since 1989, the team reached the Coppa Italia final but was defeated by Lazio.

    It seemed like the bad luck affecting Inter continued the following season as they were beaten yet again by Lazio in the 2000 Supercoppa Italiana match despite initially taking the lead through Robbie Keane a new sign-in.

    They also didn’t make it past the preliminary stage in the Championship league.

    After Inter’s first-ever defeat in Seria A to Reggina, Lippi was sacked. His replacement, Marco Tardelli was no better as he is only remembered as the only manager that was woefully beaten in the derby against Millan.

    Changes In ownership (2011-2019)

     A Chinese consortium led by Kenneth Huang declared interest to buy a minority interest in the club from Moratti and this was announced on 1st August 2012. On the same day, it was announced that an agreement for a new stadium has been reached between Inter and China Railway Construction Corporation Limited. However, the Chinese deal didn’t go through.

    Inter failed to qualify for any European competition and came 9th in Seria A in the 2012-13 season making it the worse season recently.

    Walter Mazzarri who has appointed after his tenure at Napoli eventually the team to fifth in Seria A and got them qualified for the 2014-15 UEFA Europa League.

    An agreement to acquire 70% shares from Internazionale Holding S.r.l was reached and signed by an Indonesian consortium led by Erick Thohir, Handy Soetedjo, and Rosan Roeslani. While Moratti’s Internazionale Holding S.r.l still retained 29.5% of the shares of the club, the shares of inter were now owned by a chain of holding companies. These companies include; Sports Capital S.p.An of Italy which owns 70%, International Sports Capital HK Limited, and Asian Sports Ventures HK Limited of Hong Kong. Asian Sports Ventures HK Limited itself another intermediate holding company, was owned by Nusantara Sports Ventures HK Limited which had a 60% stake and is owned by Thohir, Alke Sports Investment HK Limited which had a 20% stake, and Aksis Sports Capital HK Limited also having 20% stake.

    Thohir who co-owned a couple of leagues announced that Inter and one of the leagues he co-owned, D.C United had formed a strategic partnership. The club began to reduce its financial structure during Thohir’s tenure, yet it violated the UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations in 2015. The club was fined for this and had their squad reduced in the UEFA competitions. Robert Mancini returned as manager and Inter finished 8th. The 2015-16 season ended with Inter coming forth but they didn’t make it to the Champions League.

    0n 6th June 2016, the majority of the stake was held by Thohir’s consortium International Sports Capital S.p.A and the remaining shares from Moratti’s family were acquired by Suning Holdings Group.     The first season of new ownership surely did not begin as expected as the club started with poor performance in the pre-season friendlies. Head Coach Roberto Mancini left the club upon mutual consent having disagreed with the club’s direction. This happened on 8th August 2016 and he was replaced by Frank de Boer who was sacked on 1 November 2016 after leading the club to a 4W-2D-5L record in11 Seria A games as head coach.     Former Roma coach Luciano Spalleti was appointed on a2 year contract in 2017 and after 11 months of his reign, the club got a spot in the UEFA Champions League after 6 consecutive years. Because of this success, Spalleti’s contract was extended to 2021.

    A new president was appointed in 2018 and 2019, the club announced that an agreement to acquire International Sports Capital HK Limited’s 31.05% shares in Inter had been reached by LionRock Capital from Hong Kong as they intend to be the club’s new majority shareholder.

    From the unification of Serie A in the 1920s to the 1970s

    Initially, Italy had Foot Ball Club Empoli and the football section Unione Sportiva Empoli. Then, both came together as one. After the successful merge, the club got into the Group A of the Tuscan Promozione 1921–22. However, they joined the league of Terza Categoria, due to economic problems. Empoli performed well in that season and the next. As a result, qualifying for the final round which they also performed well.

    Guangzhou City F.C.

    Guangzhou City Football Club is a Chinese Professional football club that competes in the Chinese Super League under license from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). Just like its name, the team is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong and their home venue is the Yuexiushan Stadium which has a capacity of 18,000.

    The club is owned by the Chinese Property developers R&F Properties and they took charge of the club in June 2011. From the year 2011 till 2020, the club’s name was Guangzhou R&F, which was short for rich and force. In December 2020, the club changed its name to Guangzhou city.

    The Club was founded in 1986 in Shenyang, Liaoning and it was known as Shenyang Football Team. The capacity of the stadium was 55,000 and its name was Wulihe Stadium, up until they moved to Changsha, Hunan in 2007 to reside in the Helong Stadium.

    Relocation

    An American Sportswear and Sports equipment company known as MAZAMBA took over the club in 2010. The club relocated to Shenzen, Guangdong in February 2011 after this.

    They weren’t owners of the club for a long time as Chinese Property developers Guangzhou R & F gained ownership of the club in June 2011. Their most successful club season was in 2014 as they finished 3rd in the league and qualified for the 2015 AFC Champions League.

    History of Guangzhou City F.C

    History before moving to Guangzhou

    The club was founded in 1986 by the local Shenyang government sports body to take part in the Chinese football league system. As a result of this, the club bore the name Shenyang. That year, the team started at the bottom of the league by playing in the second division.

    They got a promotion to the 1988 Chinese Jia-A League after the league expanded and a club by the name Liaoning FC was ineligible to field their reserve team in the same division. Unfortunately, the club was relegated after one season. The club mostly remained within the second tier, except for a short foray in the 1992 Chinese Jia-A League campaign; however, just like de Ja Vu, they have been relegated once again.

    The Chinese Football League system took a professional turn in 1994. The team was allowed to garner sponsorships and also rename themselves Sheonya and were allowed to join the top tier due to their 1992 membership.

    Major Changes

    They renamed themselves Shenyang Huayang after they were relegated at the end of the season and then to Shenyang Sealion in 1996. After these changes, the club won promotion to the top tier. However, they were able to avoid relegation again. This was the beginning of the club’s establishment within the league although the team benefitted from a season where there were no relegations as the league was expanding.

    The club was taken over by Ginde Plastic Pipe Industry Group, a subsidiary of the Hongyuan Group in 2001 and changed the club’s name to Shenyang Ginde. The club’s home ground, Wulihe Stadium was demolished in 2007.

    Road to Relegation

    It was expected that the club move to another stadium within Shenyang, especially the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium however it was not a feasible deal. Hence the club moved to Changsha in Hunan and changed its name to Changsha Ginde.

    After Changsha Ginde were relegated to League One at the end of the 2010 season, the club was purchased by MAZAMBA and they were moved into the Shenzhen Stadium in the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong.

    The owners changed the club’s name to Shenzhen Phoenix and to represent this change, the club changed its home kit from sky blue to green. The club was later exposed to having serious financial problems by May 2011 and they also struggled to pay their players and their hotel accommodation.

    History in Guangzhou

    In serious doubt of completing the 2011 season, Shenzhen Phoenix was put up for sale. The club was acquired by Chinese Property developers Guangzhou R&F who moved the club back to the Yuexiushan Stadium in Guangzhou and changed the club’s colour back to blue. Results significantly increased under the new ownership. Thus the club gained promotion back to the top tier at the end of the 2011 China League One season.

    Seventh place was where the team finished that season and the owners decided to commit to a long-term future with the club by establishing a football school in Meizhou. The club struggled to a poor start at the beginning of the 2012 season and the manager, Sergio Farias, was fired.

    Road to Promotion

    The replacement was former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson who replaced him on June 4, 2013, and was given a 19-month contract. Eriksson’s first full season saw the club finish third, its highest league finish ever, and also qualify for the Asian Champions League for the first time.

    An essential player for the team was Moroccan striker, Abderazzak Hamdallah, who scored 22 times in 22 appearances. The manager, Eriksson however left at the end of his contract and moved to Shanghai PSG who had finished fifth that year.

    New Manager

    On January 2, 2015, the club appointed a new manager by name, Cosmin Contra. He coached the club in their maiden appearance in the Asian Champions League, defeating the Warriors Fc and the Central Coast Mariners in the preliminary stages to earn them a place in the group stage.

    Why was he sacked?

    Despite an away victory over Gamba Osaka, however, Guangzhou R&F was eliminated at the group stage. On July, 22, Contra was sacked as a result of the club’s poor league form. Li Bing was installed as a caretaker manager. There were more changes as Korean defensive midfielder Park Jong-woo and Hamdallah also left the club mid-season.

    Hamdallah only scored thrice in 2015, making him the all-time leading goal-scoring foreigner with a tally of 25, one ahead of Yakubu. the disruptions continued as R&F were forced to play some of their home matches at Guangzhou’s University City Stadium whilst Yuexiushan was being refurnished.

    The Dragon Stojkovic era

    Guangzhou R&F announced Dragan Stojkovic as their new manager on the 24th, of August and handed the former Yugoslavian international a contract till the end of 2017. He preserved the club’s top-flight status as they finished 14th out of 16 teams in 2015.

    In July 2016, R&F signed Israeli International, Eran Zahavi from Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. Whilst the stadium was being refurbished, R&F played their opening home games in 2017 at the Guangdong Provincial People’s Stadium. Stojkovic’s attacking style of play and Zahavi’s goals led R&F to finish fifth in the CSL in 2017.

    Golden Boot

    There was final day drama and disappointment as the club fell just short of qualifying for the ACL and Zahavi missed out on breaking the single-season CSL scoring record by just one goal. However, he earned the golden boot with 27 goals. Guangzhou R&F reached the semifinals of the CFA Cup in 2018 but had a disappointing CSL campaign as they finished 10th.

    Setting New Records

    In 2019, Guangzhou R&F finished 12th in the CSL. In attack, Zahavi’s 29 goals set a new single record, but the team had the worst defensive record in the league, conceding 72 times in 30 games. After spending over four seasons at the club – making him Guangzhou R&F’s longest-ever serving manager – Stojkovic left the club in January 2020.

    Giovanni Van Bronckhorst was announced as Guangzhou R&F’s new manager o the 4th of January, 2020. The CSL’s format was disrupted due to covid-19 but Van Bronckhorst led the team to an 11th-place finish. On December 3rd, 2020, the club announced that due to personal reasons, Van Bronckhorst had resigned as manager.

    In accordance with national rules on the removal of sponsors from club names, the club thus changed its name to Guangzhou City on the 18th of December, 2020.

    Rivalries

    The club took part in the Liaoning Derby, which was a regional fixture contested against Dalian Football club and Liaoning FC while the club was located in Shenyang. Thus the tie against Liaoning FC was the more intimate affair. Hence the clubs shared the Shenyang People’s Stadium in the 1994 League season, compared to the Dalian fixture, which historically saw few meaningful clashes. At the end of the 2006 league season, the club left this derby when they moved out of Shenyang.

    Canton Derby

    Moving to Guangzhou, they formed a rivalry with Guangzhou Evergrande, which is often referred to as the Canton Derby. The first derby was played at Yuexiushan Stadium on March 16, 2012. However, Guangzhou R&F won 2-0 at home against the reigning league champions.

    The venue was significant because it had been Guangzhou Evergrande’s home ground, However, the two club owners, Zhang Li, and Xu Jiayin did not view the derby with hostility, and on the return fixture, R&F won 1–0. They were seen enjoying a meal together instead of watching the game.

    Guangzhou City F.C. Ground

    The Yuexiushan Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, named for its location at the foot of Yuexiu Hill. It is currently mostly used for football matches and also sometimes used for athletics. Its location is 4, Yingyuan Road. The stadium is however owned by Guangzhou Sports Bureau.

    The original stadium at the same location opened before 1926. In 1950, it was completely rebuilt with a capacity of 35,000 people. However, following renovation and the installation of fixed seating in 2012, the capacity is now 18,000

    However, the stadium is best reached by taking Guangzhou Metro Line 2 to Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station.

    History of The Ground

    In the Qing dynasty, it was originally the location of the ammunition depot. When the Republic era came, Chen Jiongming planned to turn the area into a sports venue. The playground opened before 1926 and had muddy ground and few facilities.

    The new government refreshed the playground as both a sports stadium and arena for civic celebration in 1950. Friendly and International matches were hosted in this stadium in the late 1950s and early 1960s including matches against Algeria, Sweden as well as Soviet champions Spartak Moscow.

    These games would come to be known as ‘foreign battles’ and would see both Cuba and Albania play at Yuexiushan in the early 1970s, after the end of the Cultural Revolution, visiting sides included the West German Olympic Team.

    Events at the Stadium

    This stadium was also the venue for Guangzhou’s National Day celebrations, although an event to mark the 40th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution ended in disaster when 33 people were killed in a crush.

    The Yuexiushan stadium hosted the inaugural Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup match in early 1979. Guangdong however won by 1 goal to nil.

    With the opening of the new Tianhe stadium in the late 1980s, the Yuexiushan was no longer the premier ground in Guangzhou. However, Guangzhou continued to play their regular fixtures at Yuexiushan and finished second in the National Championship in 1992 and 1994, helped by an unbeaten record of 21 games at Yuexiushan.

    Renovations

    Yuexiushan has undergone multiple renovations since the late 1990s which have seen player facilities in the entrance tower at the city end of the ground improved and a roof, electronic scoreboard, and fixed plastic seating installed for spectators. Fans sitting at the Yuexiu Park end of the ground are still exposed to the elements.

    Promotion and First game

    Following their promotion to the Chinese Super League (CSL), original tenants Guangzhou Evergrande moved out of the Yuexiushan Stadium. Hence going across town to Tianhe Stadium for the 2011 season.

    Guangzhou R&F played its first home game at Yuexiushan in the summer of 2011. Thus they were promoted to the CSL at the end of the season. Following R&F’s third-place finish in 2014, Yuexiushan hosted four Asian Champions League games under floodlights in 2015.

    Another Renovation

    Yuexiushan was renovated over the winter of 2016–17. The pitch was relayed, and VIP facilities improved. Also, the whole stadium was painted blue which is the colour of tenants Guangzhou R&F. The first match at the refurbished stadium was held on 28 April 2017. However, R&F was defeated 3–1 by Guizhou Hengfeng in the CSL.

    Following a poor run of form, the Yuexiushan was repainted in gold and green. The decision was reportedly made on Feng Shui principles.

    Guangzhou City F.C. Manager

    Jacobus Johannes Martinus Paulus “Jean-Paul” van Gastel was born 28 April 1972 in Bred, North Brabant. He’s a retired midfielder from the Netherland. He also has five caps for the Dutch National team, scoring twice. He’s currently the head coach f Guangzhou City in the Chinese Super League.

    Club career

    Van Gastel started his professional career in 1990 with Willem II. He stayed for six seasons, before moving to Feyenoord. There he won the Dutch title (1999). He also moved to Italy in 2001 and played for Ternana Calcio (Serie B) and Como Calcio 1907 (Serie A). He ended his career in 2003 with De Graafschap.

    Coaching Career

    After his playing days, he worked from 2004 to 2005 as Head Coach of the U-19 team of Willem II. He however began his coaching career with the U-19 of Feyenoord on 30th, June 2005.

    During his stint at Feyenoord as an assistant coach, He, alongside Giovanni van, Bronckhorst won 5 trophies. As well as an Eredivisie and KNVB Cup. Then in 2020, he joined alongside Giovanni van Bronckhorst in joining Guangzhou R&F as an assistant coach. After that season, he became head coach of the club after van Bronckhorst’s resignation.
