Paradou AC/JMG “El Ankaoui” Academy

In 2007, Paradou AC partnered with JMG Academy to start their academy. Jean-Marc Guillou, a Frenchman, was in charge.

The institution is expected to cost around 600,000 € over the course of seven years. The purchase of land in Tessala El Merdja (on the outskirts of Alger) as well as the construction of accommodation and facilities for the players and staff are part of this plan. The institution has had a significant amount of success since its inception.

How many players are in the team?

The current team consists of players between the ages of 13 and 15. They have, however, often defeated much older teams while playing without shoes or a goalkeeper. Olivier Guillou and Djamel Ach are the team’s coaches.

Joining Paradou Football Academy

Everyone is welcome at the Club, which operates on an open-door basis. The procedure outlined below can also be used to learn how to join a Football Academy in Europe. A large number of the prerequisites are also available in Algerian Football Academy Scholarships.

Paradou Academy Scouts and Open Football trials are used to recruit new members. Applicants, particularly international students, can still apply via the club’s website or by special drafts.

• Parents’ permission is required, especially for children under the age of 18.
• Make an effort to provide a video of yourself; this strategy is mostly applicable to overseas applicants

About Paradou AC

Paradou Athletic Club, also known as Paradou AC or just PAC, is a football club headquartered in Algiers, Algeria. Members of the Hydra AC junior team created the club in 1994. Thus Blue and yellow are the club colors.

The stadium where they play, Ahmed Fellak Stadium, has a capacity of 5,000 people. The club, on the other hand, will host its opponents at Omar Benrabah Stadium. Currently, the club competes in Algeria’s Ligue Professionnelle 1.

After a ten-year absence, Paradou AC returned to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 in May 2017.

Paradou AC’s History

Early Years

A group of friends wanted to build a venue where young people could meet for leisure and interests, particularly after long days of schooling, largely studying. After much deliberation and study of many suggestions, it was finally to form a traditional football team. The name Paradou Athletic Club (abbreviated PAC) was eventually adopted.

When it came to the club’s colors, the decision was taken on a purely anecdotal basis. Several proposals were offered, but none received unanimous support. When the Swedish ambassador arrived in his vehicle, waving his country’s flag, we were in the middle of a conversation. The concept came to me immediately (Yellow and blue)

The first meeting

The original members met for the first time at the COLOMBA restaurant. They were: Mahi Ali, Mahi Mohamed, Kabla Kamel, Kabla Rezki, Kheiredine Zetchi, Oudghiri Ahmed, Mahi Abdelfettah, Zetchi Hassen, Kabla Toufik, Hammouche Abdennour, Chitour Omar, Oudghiri Rafik, Guecem Kamel, Bouhellal Kamel, Kabla Toufik, Hammouche Abdennour, Hamm.

This “Collation” meeting also included a few people who were involved in the club’s formation.

The Paradou AC saga began with an Algiers Wilaya Cup match at the Ben Aknoun stadium in September 1994. Luckily The match resulted in a 3–2 victory, indicating a promising future.

Legal Approval

This is how the legal administrative procedures for obtaining approval were carried out together with all of the relevant authorities. The number 359 was assigned to this document on August 16, 1994. As soon as it was gained, the club’s managers started about forming senior and junior teams, as well as establishing training as a goal.

Since its inception, the founding members of the Paradou Athlétic Club, including brothers Kheiredine and Hassen Zetchi, have taken great effort to build the club with strict administration. They also hope to set an example by instilling moral qualities such as fraternity, humanity, and respect for others, which are the foundation of any high-level athlete’s success.

The Club’s Growth

The Paradou AC has progressed through the leagues from their inception in 1994–95, eventually landing in Ligue 1 in 2005. As a result, it was able to carve out a niche for itself among Algerian clubs and gain recognition.

 Paradou AC has finally found the elite after three years in DNA and is back in Ligue 2 as a professional team. Several players educated by Paradou AC, whose vocation it is, have played in the heydays of several D1 clubs and continue to do so. Lamouri Djediat, Hocine El Orfi, Billel Ouali, as well as others are among the players.

The Manager of Paradou AC

Tahar Chérif El-Ouazzani

Si-Tahar Chérif El-Ouazzani, a former Algerian footballer, was born in Oranis on July 10, 1967.

His Career

Chérif El-Ouazzani began his career in 1983 with Oran, a local MC. Furthermore He guided the team to its first league title in 17 years in his debut season. He led the squad to the African Cup of Champions Clubs final the following season. However, they were defeated on penalties by Raja Casablanca in a contentious encounter.

 He returned to MCO for one more season, hence winning the 1990 African Cup of Nations. After that, he got his first professional deal with Aydinspor in Turkey, where he joined fellow Algerian Djamel Amani. Before returning to Algeria, he spent two seasons in Turkey.

His Exit and Return to MCO again

Before leaving again the following year, he led MC Oran to a second league title. He went to the Moroccan side Raja Casablanca this time.

He returned to MCO for a third tenure after two trophy-less years in Morocco. However 1996, he guided the club to the Algerian Cup, and in 1997 and 1998, he led the squad to back-to-back Arab Cup Winners Cups. They also won the Arab Super Cup the following year, defeating Syrian side Al Jaish in the final. He was a member of MCO until 2002, when he retired.

He took over as coach of OM Arzew in 2003 and remained in charge of the squad until February 2008, when he was named coach of MC Oran.

His Personal life

Chérif El-Ouazzani is the youngest of seven children, and his brother Abdennour Chérif El-Ouazzani is also a professional player.

Hichem El-Ouazzani, Chérif El-son Ouazzani’s Chérif El-Ouazzani is also a professional footballer who has represented Algeria at the international level.

Paradou AC in Africa

In African football, Paradou AC is a team to watch.

On various times, Paradou AC has qualified for Confederation of African Football (CAF) events. Also on one occasion, they represented Algeria in the Confederations Cup.

History

Paradou AC is a team that has competed in Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions on a regular basis. However he success of Algerian clubs in their domestic league and cup competitions determines their qualification. The CAF Confederation Cup was the first continental participation in the 2019–20 season.

The team’s first continental encounter came against Guinea’s CI Kamsar. Luckily Abdelkader Ghorab scored the game’s first goal in a 3–0 triumph.

In Group D, Paradou AC had also advanced to the knockout stages, finishing third behind FC San Pédro, Hassania Agadir, and Enyimbaand.

Stadium Omar Benrabah

Omar Benrabah Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Algiers, Algeria. It is located in the Dar El Beda district. However is now primarily used for football matches.

The Algerian A’ national football team and the Algerian Under-23 National Team both use it frequently. Paradou AC and CRB Dar El Beda both call the stadium home. The stadium has a capacity of 11,000 people.

The stadium hosted the 2009 African Under-17 Championship. Also it was the venue for the finals.

Players Worth Remembering

Naidji, Zakaria

Zakaria Naidji was born on the 19th of January, 1995. He is a professional footballer from Algeria. On loan from Paradou AC, he played for Pau FC as well as the Algerian national team.

Career in the club

With 20 goals in the 2018–19 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, Naidji was the top scorer.

During the season, he scored 21 goals and added seven assists across all competitions.

Naidji joined Portuguese liga NOS club Gil Vicente on loan from Paradou AC in August 2019. Gil Vicente reportedly paid €50,000 for the loan and also acquired a €1.4 million option to sign him permanently.

International Career

Naidji debuted for Algeria in an African Cup of Nations qualification against Gambia on March 22, 2019, as a 64th-minute substitute for Oussama Darfalou.

Hakim Malek

Malek, Hakim, was born on April 4, 1972. He is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder for the French national team.

Career in the Club

Malek began his career at Vitrolles before moving to Toulon in Ligue 2 in 1997. In the 1997–98 season, he made 32 league games for Toulon. In the summer of 1998, he went to Martigues and played a season with the Championnat National team before returning to Vitrolles, where he finished his career.

Career as Manager

Malek was named manager of Consolat Marseille in 2003. Before going to amateur side Saint Marcel, he held the position for five years. During the 2010–11 season, he was the manager of Algerian team El Eulma before returning to Saint Marcel. Following the resignation of Bernard Bouger, he was rehired by Consolat in January 2012.

Josep María Nogués

Josep María Nogués Salvatella was born 29 April 1959. He is a retired Spanish footballer who was a midfielder as well as a manager.

A career as a manager

Nogués, who was born in the Catalan city of Barcelona, has previously coached teams in the Tercera and Segunda División. L’Hospitalet (1993–1995), Terrassa (1995–1996), Gimnàstic de Tarragona (1997–1999), Real Jaén (2002–2004), Girona (2005), Écija Balompié (2007–2008), and Real Betis B (2008–2009) are some of them.

As soon Paco Chaparro was fired, Nogués was named the new manager of Real Betis on April 6, 2009.

Racing de Santander was defeated 3–2 in his debut game as coach. Then came two defeats, 1–2 against Valencia and 0–2 to Atlético Madrid. Nogués however defeated Sporting de Gijón 2–0 in his second game.

He first managed in Algeria with Paradou AC from 2016 to 2018. Afterwards it was followed by a brief stint with CA Bordj Bou Arreridj in 2018.

Francisco Chaló

On February 10, 1964, Francisco Alexandre Lacerda Chaló was born. He is the current manager of Paradou AC and also a former attacking midfielder for the Portuguese national team.

Career

AC Alfenense

Chaló began his career as a district manager with A.C. Alfenense and F.C. Pedras Rubras in Ermesinde, Porto Metropolitan Area. He spent three years in the Segunda Liga with C.D. Feirense after guiding the latter to the third tier.

He was promoted to the Primeira Liga on 30 May 2007, thus replacing Fernando Mira at Associaço Naval 1o de Maio.

However n September 16, he was fired after scoring two points in four games.

Chaló then returned to Feirense in the second level for another 18 months before being relegated in December 2009.

FC Penafiel

He signed with F.C. Penafiel for the rest of the season on March 8, 2011, with the goal of avoiding relegation.

Following Fan’s departure in March 2013, Chaló was named manager of S.C. Covilh.

He finished in the middle of the table the following season after steering them to safety.

Lees da Serra

Despite interest from other teams, he stayed with the Lees da Serra and led them to fourth place in the 2014–15 season. It was their highest performance since the Segunda Liga’s inception. However they narrowly lost out on promotion to the Primeira Liga on goal difference.

By and Large, Covilh was considered as one of the favorites for promotion heading into the 2015–16 season. However, his team only finished fifteenth due to a string of poor results in the first part of the season. As a result of the 22-point drop from the previous season, he was released.

Return to Management

Subsequently, Chaló returned to management in December 2016, signing a one-year contract with Académico de Viseu FC.

He left in February 2018 after a seven-game losing streak, and a few days later took a job with Leixes S.C. of the same league.

He cancelled his contract with Matosinhos in June 2018, with a year left on his deal, before joining Paradou AC of the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1. In August of 2020, he quit the team.

He returned to Paradou AC in 2022.

Benguit, Raouf

Abdelraouf Benguit was born in Laghouat on April 5, 1996. He is an Algerian footballer who currently represents MC Alger in the Ligue Professionnelle 1 of Algeria.

Career in the club

Benguit made his professional debut for Paradou AC on August 14, 2015, after graduating from the club’s development academy. He made his Ligue Professionnelle 2 debut against USM Bel-Abbès in the first match of the 2015–16 season.

Tunisia’s USM Alger Espérance

Raouf Benguit signed Espérance de Tunis for four seasons on July 2, 2019, after leaving Paradou AC for 742,000 US dollars.

He made his Ligue 1 debut for Espérance in a victory over US Tataouine. Benguit then scored the winning goal against Elect-Sport in the Champions League, his first goal with the club. Benguit got his first brace in the Tunisian Cup against AS Marsa on March 15, 2020.

He won two titles in his debut season, the Ligue Professionnelle 1 and the Super Cup. He also had the most games played this season, with 42, and scored seven goals.

His International Career

Benguit was named to Algeria’s squad for the 2015 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal in November 2015.

Benguit was first called up to the Algerian national team on June 1, 2017 for a friendly match against Guinea and a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo

 Farid El Melali

Farid El Melali was born May 5, 1997. He is an Algerian professional footballer who plays for Ligue 2 club Pau also the Algeria national team on loan from Ligue 1 club Angers.

Career in the club

El Melali signed a four-year contract with Ligue 1 club Angers on August 9, 2018.

He signed a contract extension until 2023 in May 2020.

El Melali joined Pau on loan for the duration of the 2021–22 season on January 7, 2022.

His Personal Life

El Melali was caught masturbating in the courtyard of his block of flats in May 2020, while staring at a woman who resides on the ground floor. French police arrested him and accused him with public masturbating.

“In the past several days, I’ve been through a really difficult and stressful moment, whether emotionally or physically, I’ve been chastised and harshly criticised,” he wrote afterwards. “I know it is impossible for people that received the news to forgive this behavior” he added.

Why he was arrested

However El Melali was arrested for the second time in three months in July 2020 for the same offense.

He was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 18 months, fined €2,000, and ordered to pay €1,600 and €2,300 in compensation to two victims in October.

Ramy Bensebaini

Amir Selmane Ramy Bensebaini was born on April 16, 1995, in Tunisia. He is an Algerian professional footballer who currently plays for Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach as well as the Algeria national team as a left-back or center-back.

Career in the Club

Bensebani, who was born in Constantine, began his career at Paradou AC, where he joined the junior team in 2008 and made his senior debut in 2013.

Bensebani went on trial with F.C. Porto in the summer of 2013, and was later offered a two-week trial by Arsenal in the English Premier League. During this time, he represented the under-21 squad in two friendlies against Luton Town and Colchester.

Lierse

Paradou loaned Bensebani to a Belgian Pro League club for a season in June 2014.

On 3 August, he made his entire debut as a 94th-minute substitute for Wanderson in a league match against Club Brugge.

Despite making 23 league games and scoring one goal during the season, Bensebani was unable to help Lierse avoid relegation.

Montpellier

Bensebani was loaned out by Paradou once more in June 2015, this time to French club Montpellier for the 2015–16 Ligue 1 season.

He signed a four-year contract with Rennes on July 5, 2016.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

Bensebani signed a four-year contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach for 8 million euros on August 14, 2019. As a result, he became Algeria’s most expensive defender. Additionally In the Bundesliga, he made his debut for the team as a starter in a win over 1. FC Köln.

He scored his first goal for his new club against Werder Bremen on November 10th. Afterwards He was sent off with a red card in the same game.

More so n December 7, 2019, he scored twice in a 2–1 triumph over defending Bundesliga champions Bayern München.

His International Career

Bensebani made his Algerian national under-23 football team debut against Sierra Leone in a 2015 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying match on July 19, 2015.

Bensebani was first called up to the Algerian national team in November 2015 for a pair of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Tanzania.

Allan Okello

On July 4, 2000, Allan Okello was born. He is a Ugandan offensive midfielder who plays for Paradou AC in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 as well as for the Uganda national team. In 2019, he was named Fufa Airtel Footballer of the Year.

KCCO

Okello was launched at the Lugogo ground of the Kampala Capital City Authority on February 24,2017

During his senior debut, Okello scored a triple trick and assisted one goal as Kampala Capital City Authority trounced Onduparaka FC. On February 27, 2017, this however took place at Phillip Omondi Stadium.

As a result, he became the first player in the Uganda Premier League’s 2016–2017 season to score a hat trick.

Many professional clubs around the world, including Mamelodi Sundowns, Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, as well as Egyptian clubs, showed interest in Okello in July 2017.

“He will not leave the nation till he has completed his A-level studies,” his agent, Isaac Mwesigwa, stated.

Uganda Premier League 2018–19

Okello made his season debut on September 28 against Soana FC at Kampala Capital City Authority’s Phillip Omondi StarTimes Stadium (won 2–1).

On the 19th of October, he also scored his first goal of the season against Onduparaka at Green Light Stadium in Arua.

On 4 May 2019, Okello played his final game of the season against Maroons FC at Phillip Omondi StarTimes Stadium.

During the season, he appeared in over 24 games. Kampala Capital City Authority was crowned champions of the league. Thus Okello scored six goals in the 2018–2019 Uganda Premier League season.

AC Paradou

Okello signed a three-year contract with Paradou AC on January 21, 2020.

National Team

• Uganda U20

Okello was a member of the Uganda U20 team at the 2017 COSAFA U-20 Tournament in Zambia.

Although he made his debut against Zambia U20 on December 6, 2017, at Arthur Davis Stadium in Kitwe, as a substitute for Pius Obuya.

• Uganda’s U23

During the TOTAL AFCON U-23 Qualifiers, Okello represented Uganda U-23.

Also on November 14, 2018, at Star Times Stadium Lugogo, Uganda, he made his debut against South Sudan U23. The game ended in a 1-0 victory for U23.

• National football squad of Uganda

Sébastien Desabre, Uganda’s head coach, invited Okello to be part of the final team training for the 2019 Afcon qualification game against Tanzania on March 13, 2019.

Against Somalia, though, he made his senior national team debut.

Private life

Following the death of his biological mother in 2012, Okello moved to Kampala to study at the football powerhouse Kibuli S.S. Okello was born and reared in the northern town of Lira. Patrick Ojom (dead) and Joan Agomu gave birth to Okello.

Douar, Youcef

Youcef Douar (born September 15, 1997) is an Algerian footballer who currently plays as a defender for Paradou AC in the Ligue Professionnelle 1.

His Career in Paradou AC

Douar made his professional debut on May 12, 2018, after graduating from the club’s development academy.

Douar earned a four-game suspension and a 40,000 dinar fine in August 2021 after abusing a match official during a match against CR Belouizdad.

His International Career

Douar has represented Algeria at various youth levels, as well as at the U20, U21, and U23 levels.

Medjadel, Abderrahmane

On July 1, 1998, Abderrahmane Medjadel was born. He is an Algerian professional footballer who currently plays goalie for Paradou AC in the Ligue Professionnelle 1.

Career in the club

Medjadel was a young product of IS Tighennif before joining ASM Oran’s school. However he moved to GC Mascara in 2017, where he had his first senior experience in Algeria’s Ligue Professionnelle 2. In 2019, he joined Olympique Médéa and helped them gain promotion to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

Furthermore, On January 26, 2021, he made his professional debut for Olympique Médéa in a 0–0 draw with Sétif in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

His International Career

In June 2021, Medjadel was called up to play for the senior Algeria A’ national football team in a friendly match. However On June 17, 2021, he made his debut in a friendly 1–0 win over Libera.

Juventude FC: The Youth Academy

Juventude’s  Youth Wing is dedicated to developing the future generation of professionals. However, to train the kids, the club spends a lot of money on recruiting experienced coaches, fitness specialists, tutors, and other sports academicians.

The development league allows players to hone their skills in preparation for professional football. The club also keeps in touch with other clubs that are interested in purchasing young players who have shown promise in the developmental stage.

Esporte Clube Juventude

Juventude, or Esporte Clube Juventude, is a Brazilian football club based in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul. The club presently competes in the Campeonato Gaucho Série A, as well as the first category of Brazilian football.

The latter is the Rio Grande do Sul state football league’s first division. The club’s major titles were the Copa do Brasil in 1999 as well as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B in 1994.

Juventude also competes in the Rio Grande do Sul’s first-tier state league, having won it once in 1998. Caxias are their main adversary, with whom they compete in the Caxias do Sul derby, popularly known as Cajuns.

Its History

On June 29, 1913, 35 young people from Caxias do Sul, descendants of Italian immigrants created Juventude. It was one of the community’s early football clubs. The inaugural president of the club was Antônio Chiaradia Neto.

Juventude played its first game on July 20, 1913, against Serrano of Carlos Barbosa, Rio Grande do Sul. Luckily Juventude won the game with a score of 4–0.

The Debut Game

Subsequently, Juventude lost its debut game on March 8, 1915. Juventude was defeated 4–1 by Fußball from Montenegro, breaking a 23-game unbeaten streak.

However, Juventude joined the Rio Grande do Sul state football association on October 10, 1919. After recruiting three Uruguayan players in 1920, the club became professional.

Inaugural Match

The inaugural match versus Caxias was played on December 11, 1975, and Juventude won 1–0. Da Silva was however the one who scored the goal. The Ca-Ju derby is the name given to this encounter.

What was the Club’s First National title?

Juventude won the second division of the Campeonato Brasileiro on December 4, 1994. As a result, the club won its first national title and was promoted to the first level. Juventude also won the Campeonato Gaucho on June 7, 1998, without losing a single match.

Juventude won the Copa do Brasil, Brazil’s most important national title, on June 27, 1999. As a result, they will be eligible to compete in the Copa Libertadores the following year.

Juventude participated in the Copa Libertadores for the first time in 2000 but was eliminated in the first round.

Promotion

Finally, Juventude finished second in Série D in 2013 and was promoted to Série C for the 2014 season. In 2017, they were promoted to Série B once more.

Juventude finished third in the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, bringing them back to the top tier of Brazilian football after a 13-year absence. They finally finished 16th in the tournament in 2021. As a result, they will compete in Série A for the 2022 championship.

The stadium was first used in a Copa Libertadores de América match on February 16, 2000. Thus Juventude defeated Ecuador’s El Nacional 1–0.

The current attendance record at the stadium is 27,740, which was reached on November 27, 2002, when Grêmio defeated Juventude 1–0.

The Anthem

Ernani Falco wrote the text and Rodolfo Storchi composed the music for the club’s official anthem.

Another unofficial hymn was composed (both the lyrics and the music) by Paulo Gazzola. Hino da Volta do Ju, which translates to “Anthem of Ju’s Return,” is the name of the song.

Juventude FC: The Head Coach

Eduardo Alexandre Baptista (born 30 March 1970), better known by his nickname Eduardo Baptista, is a Brazilian football manager who is presently in charge of Juventude.

Career

Baptista began his career as a central defender for Clube Atlético Juventus in Campinas, So Paulo. However, his father, Nelsinho, persuaded him to retire from football owing to his outbursts on the pitch.

Baptista joined his father’s Goiás staff as a fitness coach in 2002, after stints with clubs in his home state. Thus for the next nine years, the couple remained together. As a result, they only split because of the Japanese tsunami in 2011, when they were both in Kashiwa Reysol.

 Eduardo went back to Sport Recife (where he had previously worked from 2007 to 2009), but Nelsinho stayed at Kashiwa. Baptista was named interim manager on January 31, 2014, after Geninho was fired.

Career as a Manager

On February 14, he was officially named manager, and he led the team to victories in the Campeonato Pernambucano and the Copa do Nordeste.

Baptista however departed Sport on September 17, 2015, and was hired by Fluminense to replace sacked Enderson Moreira.

Flu fired him on February 25, 2016, after only two wins in six games.

He took over Ponte Preta’s reign on April 15th, replacing Alexandre Gallo.

First Resignation

Ponte finished seventh in the league, only four points short of qualifying for the continental championship, thanks to Baptista’s efforts. He resigned on December 2, 2016, and fourteen days later signed a one-year contract with Palmeiras.

However, Baptista was removed from his duties at Verdo on May 4, 2017.

On May 23, he was hired as manager of Atlético Paranaense, but on July 10, he was fired.

Baptista returned to Ponte on September 20, 2017. He was also fired on March 9th and took over Coritiba on April 16th, 2018. On the 10th of August, he was fired from the latter club once more.

Return to Sport

Baptista returned to Sport on August 15, 2018, replacing Claudinei Oliveira and also returning to the club four months after his father Nelsinho left the same position.

However, after only eight matches, he resigned on September 24 and was named Vila Nova manager on February 23, 2019.

After being fired by Vila on July 13, 2019, Baptista was named in charge of CSA on February 10, 2020. He was fired by the latter on August 30, 2020, and four days later was appointed manager of Mirassol.

Road to Juventude

Baptista led Mirassol to their first-ever national title in Série D in 2020, and they avoided relegation to Série C in 2021. He was named Remo manager on November 11, 2021, with a return to Mirassol for the 2022 season also negotiated.

Baptista announced his departure from Mirassol on March 2, 2022, a day after knocking out Grêmio in the 2022 Copa do Brasil.

He was promoted to manager of Juventude in the first league the next day.

Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, or simply Brasileiro, is a Brazilian professional football league for men’s clubs. It is the country’s major football competition and is located at the top of the Brazilian football league structure.

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B is contested by 20 clubs and runs on a promotion and relegation system. The IFFHS named the competition the best national league in the globe in 2021, as well as the best in South America.

History

The Taça Brasil began in 1959 and lasted until 1968.

Due to the postponement of the 1968 Taça Brasil, CBD used Roberto to choose the Libertadores representatives 1968. Following the dissolution of the Taça Brasil, the Roberto was renamed “Taça de Prata” (Silver Cup) by CBD and remained the highest Brazilian title for the next two years.

Introducing New Module of Play

The top division was renamed “Diviso Extra” (Extra Division) in 1971, while the second division was called “Primeira Diviso” in 1972. (First Division). At the end of each Module, the first two teams would play each other. The national champions and the two teams who will represent Brazil in the Copa Libertadores in 1988 will be determined in this way.

Initially, CBF supported the Club of the 13 decision. However, with the competition already underway and under pressure from football clubs barred from the Copa Unio, the CBF issued a new set of rules a few weeks later. As a result, the Copa Unio was seen as part of a broader tournament that included another 16 teams.

Rejecting to New Module

Unfortunately, the Club of 13 never acknowledged the new set of rules, and the Brazilian media mainly ignored them. They would rather focus their efforts on the autonomous league.

Sport and Guarani from the yellow module, and Flamengo and Internacional from the green module, were to compete in the final tournament. Flamengo and Internacional, however, refused to participate, hence it never happened. As a result, Sport and Guarani competed for the 1987 Championship, with the first winning. Both, though, went on to represent Brazil in Copa America.

In 1988, the Libertadores have crowned champions.

Attempts at Championships

Despite Flamengo’s many attempts to obtain ownership of the championship through the legal system, Sport is still acknowledged as the 1987 Champions by both CBF and FIFA.

The champions of both Taça Brasil (1959–68) and Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa (1967–70) were recognized as Brazilian Champions by the CBF in 2010. As a result, there was significant controversy because both competitions were held over two years.

Due to this, Palmeiras received two awards for winning both tournaments in 1967, and both Santos and Botafogo were acknowledged as champions in 1968, as one of them won each event.

The Format of the Competition

Competition

The Brasileiro has a total of 20 clubs. Each club plays the other twice during the season (from May to December) (a double round-robin system). For a total of 38 games, they played once at their home stadium and once at their opponents’.

A win earns three points, while a tie earns one point. A loss does not result in any points being awarded. Total points, victories, goal differential, and goals scored are used to rank teams. The team with the most points at the end of the season is proclaimed champion. There are regulations to follow if two or more clubs have the same number of points.

The Rules

If there are more than two clubs tied and they are not vying for the national title or relegation, the tie is broken using games played against each other:

a) the number of games won

b) the total goal difference

c) the total number of goals scored

d) the head-to-head record (with the away goals rule in effect if only two clubs are taken into account)

If the tie remains unbroken, Fair Play scales will be used to determine the winner.

e) The least amount of yellow cards

f) the least amount of red cards

The Fair Play scales will not be used if there is a tie for the championship, demotion, or qualification to other tournaments. The winner is determined by a play-off match held at a neutral location. Otherwise, the last spots will be decided by a lottery.

Note

Between the Brasileiro and the Série B, there is a promotion and relegation system. The Brasileiro’s four lowest-placed teams are demoted to Série B, with the Série B’s top four teams promoted to the Brasileiro.

International competition qualification

Since 2016, the top six clubs in the Brasileiro have qualified for the Copa Libertadores that follow. The top four teams advance directly to the group stage, while the fifth and sixth teams advance to the second round. Depending on who wins the Copa do Brasil, Copa Sudamericana, or Copa Libertadores, the number of teams qualifying for the Libertadores may increase.

Clubs in seventh to twelfth position qualify for the next Copa Sudamericana, though numbers may vary depending on other tournaments, as mentioned above.

In 2012, the Brasileiro made a total revenue of US$1.17 billion. This makes the Brasileiro the most profitable football league in the Americas, as well as the most profitable outside of Europe’s “big five.”

In 2013, the Brasileiro was also one of the most valuable football leagues in the world, with a marketing value of nearly US$1.24 billion. Every club in the 2013 Brasileiro is worth a total of US$1.07 billion.

Media Coverage

Grupo Globo, which distributes live matches for its television stations in Brazil, has bought television rights. Rede Globo (terrestrial and satellite), SporTV (paid), and Premiere FC were the three (through the system Pay-per-view).

In 1987, the first television contract was struck, with only the Green Module of the Copa Unio being broadcast. Only Rede Bandeirantes owned the broadcasting rights in 1990.

After a contentious signing contract between Clube dos 13 and Globosat in 1997, games were barred from being broadcast on pay television. The Club of the 13 had already inked a contract with TVA, a firm that included ESPN Brazil, in 1993.

The Most Memorable moment in the competition

In 2001, however, the competition’s final was highlighted by an unusual circumstance. Vasco do Gama, a finalist in the competition against So Caetano, was featured on the logo of SBT, Brazil’s second-largest television station and a direct competitor to Globo.

This was an embarrassment for Globo, who had exclusive rights to broadcast the final, which was watched by an estimated 60 million people. Despite a strong crowd in attendance for the final match, this edition received mediocre ratings. The Rede Globo was forced to cancel the broadcast of a few matches as a result.

About Three Towns F.C. of Wuhan

Wuhan Three Towns Football Club (Chinese: 武汉三镇足球俱乐部) is a professional Chinese football club that presently engages in the Chinese Super \sLeague. The group is headquartered in Hubei’s Wuhan.

Background

In 2013, Wuhan Shangwen (Simplified Chinese: ) was founded, with a primary emphasis on the improvement of young athletes. In 2018, the team began to engage in Wuhan Super League, and came second right after Wuhan Chufeng Heli. Manager of Wuhan Three Towns F.C.

Pedro Morilla Pineda, a former Spanish midfielder who was born on October 31, 1972, serves as the interim manager of Wuhan Three Towns.

Playing Experience

Morilla, who was raised in Seville, Andalusia, has played for Real Betis and Sevilla FC. He transferred to Segunda División B side Écija Balompié in 1994 upon earning his senior appearance with CD Mairena and made sporadic appearances as his side was promoted to Segunda División.

On December 3, 1995, Morilla made his second-level appearance by playing the final 14 mins of his team’s 1–2 home defeat against CD Leganés. The next July, he quit the team and moved with third-tier Talavera CF.

The ensuing years saw Morilla continue to play for Real Murcia, Burgos CF, Dos Hermanas CF, Talavera, and CD Ciempozuelos in the lower divisions. In 2005, at the age of 32, he decided to retire with the second.

Career in team management

Morillas started coaching right away after retiring, taking over the youth program at his old team Ciempozuelos. He was made head coach of the 4th division’s top club in Jan 2007.

Morilla moved back to Talavera on November 8th, 2007 as manager.

He quit the team after being demoted and became the manager of CD Móstoles in November 2008.

Morilla was hired as CD Marchamalo’s manager on October 1 of that year and left in June of the next year. Later, he became a member of Betis’ backroom staff, where he was also in command of the reserve and junior teams.

Morilla began working for Granada CF in August 2016.
He took over as the B-leader side’s on July 9 of the subsequent year, succeeding Llus Planagumà.

On March 19, 2018, Morilla was appointed head coach of the top squad in the 2nd division, taking over for the sacked José Luis Oltra.

But he was fired on April 30.

In May 2018, he took up management of the B-side once more. Nevertheless, Morilla was fired in March 2019 following just one victory in the previous 14 games, which put Granada CF B in grave danger of being demoted from Segunda División B.

Morilla, who had earlier served as methods director, was named caretaker manager of Wuhan Three towns in July 2021.

He received a promotion to manager in December 2021 after winning Fourteen straight games.

Wu Fei (footballer)

A goalkeeper with Wuhan Three Towns in the China League One, Wu Fei (born 2 July 1989) is a Chinese football player.

League Career

Zall Wuhan

Wu Fei, a graduate of the Hubei academy system, began his professional football career in 2009 at Hubei Greenery, a Chinese football team in the third division.

He got his team appearance on September 5, 2009, in a league match that the team won 1-0 over Ningbo Hua’ao.

As the team came second at the close of the season, he would later be promoted within the organization.

During his 5 years at the club, he would serve as Wu Yan’s and subsequently Zhu Zisen’s protégé as he devoted the majority of his tenure on the sideline.

He switched to Shenzhen Ledman F.C. in 2017 and started playing for them in China League Two as their regular goalkeeper. Due to Shenzhen Ledman’s demise following the 2018 season, his deal was cancelled.

Three Towns F.C. of Wuhan

Wu Fei joined Wuhan Three Towns on an unpaid transfer on Feb 15, 2019, for China League Two. He would quickly become their preferred goalkeeper, and the next year he would help them secure their league tier.

Fei Xiong

As a right-back or defensive midfielder for Wuhan Three Towns in the China League One, Xiong Fei (simple Chinese: ; traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: Xióng Fi) was born on October 21, 1987.

Club experience

At the start of the 2008 league season, Xiong Fei transitioned to Wuhan Optics Valley’s senior club after initially playing for their youth squad. He was signed by Nanjing Yoyo, a second-tier club, after the senior team was dissolved in 2008. On April 19, 2009, he made his league premiere against Guangdong Sunray Cave F.C., which resulted in a 1–0 loss.

His execution was excellent enough for him to earn a regular spot within the team and he swiftly displayed his attacking prowess although being a defender when he netted his maiden goal versus Nanchang Bayi on July 11, 2009 in a 1–1 tie.

Upon having an individually good season for Nanjing he would switch to top level side Shanghai Shenhua where he would ultimately earn his appearance stepping on as a delayed replacement for Jiang Kun in a league match on August 22, 2010 in a 1–0 win lagainst Chongqing Lifan.

He would though find it difficult to earn much playtime until the 2011 league season when the club’s first option right back Wu Xi would be shifted further into midfield and Xiong got much more playtime where he ultimately appeared in 12 league matches by the conclusion of the season.

On 19 July 2014, Xiong was leased to China League One side Wuhan Zall until 31 December 2014.

Upon his comeback, he would begin to define himself as a regular player until the arrival of Zhang Lu, who took his spot as the team’s top right-back. On 17 Jan 2018, Xiong hence moved to Liaoning F.C.

As twos seasons at the club he departed on an unpaid transfer on 23 May 2020. Just following upon Football Club was dismissal by Chinese Football Association (CFA) because of wage outstanding debt.

Xiong relocated to Wuhan Three Towns on August 5, 2020. In his debut season with the club he would go on to assist them in earning the division championship and advancement into the second flight.

Wallace (footballer, born October 1994)

Wallace Fortuna dos Santos, also recognized as Wallace, is a center back who presently competes for Chinese Super League team Wuhan Three Towns. The footballer was born on October 14, 1994, in Brazil.

Club experience

Wallace, a Cruzeiro youth product, generated a lot of controversy when Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute spent €9.5 million to acquire him in beginning July 2014.
