Registration Into Spezia Football Academy

Entering Requirements

Before a young player can be accepted into the club, he must first be in the right place at the right time. That is such player should take note of the days for open try out and be available for them. Most of the time, players are usually accepted into the club through Spezia Academy scouts who are always present at such try outs. However, there is also the option of just applying directly through the clubs official website. But this method is not always advisable. You can also be accepted into the club through special drafting.

Some of the basic requirements are;

• A very detailed description of yourself, your previous club if you had any and all your contacts.
• If you are yet to attain the age of 18 then you would need a letter or signature showing your parent’s approval.
• If you are applying for a scholarship, you have to prove that you are actual in financial crisis

 Spezia Summer Camp

After being inactive for two years, SPEZIA SUMMER CAMP is back. It is a camp for youngsters filled with passion and fun. In Spezia summer camp, young players basically get to learn football in a fun and interesting way. They get to meet other players like themselves as well as coaches to help train then.

The camp runs a day program so that kids can return to their home after the days activity.

Spezia summer camp is usually organized in the La Spezia Sports Center. It runs from the 13^th to 18^th of June.

SPEZIA CAMP’s goal is to provide all participants with a wonderful experience of fun and game in white colors. All of this is done alongside the coaches of Spezia Calcio and many other boys who share the same passion for sport and football.

With daily practice, all of the boys and girls will be able to improve their technical background. All practices are done in a safe, fun, and entertaining environment.

SPEZIA CAMP is more than just training. The camp is proposed as a program of fun and entertainment.

During the day, football will be accompanied by recreational and educational activities. Mostly activities that allow children to have fun, socialize, and grow.

The recreational activities will involve all participants. They will be followed daily by specialized trainers. This will help the kids express themselves better.

MATERIAL WITHDRAWAL

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on June 11, 2022, the Intels Training Center ‘B. Ferdeghini’ will be open to all families. This is to allow them learn about the program, pay the registration fee, and pick up the official SPEZIA SUMMER CAMP kit. The content of the kit are; two game jerseys, two game shorts, two pairs of socks, a cotton t-shirt, Bermuda shorts, and a backpack.

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

The reception will take place at the Intels Training Center ‘B. Ferdeghini’, at Via Melara 91 in La Spezia, on Monday, June 13 at 08:30. Each morning will focus on a different topic. And each day will conclude with leisure and entertainment activities. Before returning to the field for games and team challenges. On Saturday, June 18th, at the end of the week, there will be a morning of celebration with the families. This includes an awards ceremony and the presentation of official Spezia Calcio participation certificates to all participants.

THE PARTICIPATION FEE

The Intels Training Center ‘B. Ferdeghini’ charges € 280.00 for the Camp. Lo Spezia Calcio is offering a discount to families with more than one child attending the Camp. The cost will be € 260.00 per person. It will be possible to enter the name of the other brother / sister registered during registration to allow us to verify the accuracy of the information provided.

What the fee covers

– Medical aid and surveillance throughout lunch

– Liability insurance for third parties -A complete set of clothing – Accident insurance policy

Spezia Calcio FC

This is an Italian professional football team headquartered in La Spezia. Spezia Calcio was formed in 1906 by Swiss financier Hermann Hurni (or Hurny in some papers)

He played for Crystal Palace’s early amateur teams while a student in London. In 1909, he returned to Crystal Palace.

When Hurny returned to La Spezia, he was given a second-hand amateur Crystal Palace kit in light blue and white. He wore this for the first time. Following Alberto Picco and others’ decision in 1911, plain white shirt with black shorts and black socks was selected to honor Pro Vercelli. It was to serve as an example of a tiny team capable of defeating the major teams. It is still in use today.

Prior to the formation of Serie A in the 1920s, Spezia played a number of top-flight games against the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, and Inter Milan. The club has competed at every level of the Italian football pyramid.

Relegation and Recognition

After a long dispute, the Campionato Alta Italia was formally recognized by FIGC (the Italian Football Federation) in 2002, and the use of a specific permanent badge was permitted. The tricolor insignia, which is different in form and size from the standard Scudetto, is worn on official shirts during games.

They were relegated from Serie A in 1951 and have been languishing in third and fourth division ever since. On May 15th 2022 Spezia secured its third consecutive Serie A appearance for the 2022-2023 season.

The full History of Spezia FC

Early history (1906-1994)

The Swiss banker Hermann Hurny (or Hurni in certain papers) formed Spezia Calcio in 1906, after playing for the reserves of Crystal Palace in London while a student. The light blue and white first Spezia outfit was allegedly a second-hand Crystal Palace kit given to Hurny when he returned to La Spezia. In 1909, he returned to Crystal Palace.

They won the Seconda Divisione in 1926 and were promoted to the Prima Divisione, the second-highest level of Italian football at the time. Spezia won the Prima Divisione in 1929, but the league was downgraded to the third division in Italy, so the team was relegated to Serie B the following year.

The team changed its name to AC Spezia for the 1929-30 season, which was the inaugural season of the newly founded Serie B. Spezia stayed at this level until 1935, when they were relegated, only to quickly return for the 1936-37 season.

The Split

The Italian football association decided to split the top division into regional rounds in 1944 due to World War II. The team, which was given the name 42° Corpo dei Vigili del Fuoco della Spezia (Firefighters of La Spezia) after a merger with a local firefighter in order to have a sufficient number of players, was placed in Emilia-Round Romagna’s D alongside Corradini Suzzara, Fidentina, Orlandi Busseto, and Parma.

Early wins

Spezia took first place in the round and advanced to the semi-finals. It faced Suzzara, Carpi, and Modena. Spezia was victorious is this round by winning five out of the six matches they played. They played in the two legged play off against Bologna after winning the Semi finals.

The first match, held in Bologna, was called off due to problems involving Bologna fans following Spezia’s 1–0 goal. Spezia was given a 2–0 victory as a result. Due to heavy bombings in the Ligurian city during the era, the return match was originally shifted to Cagoa. It was then cancelled due to protests by Bologna chairman Renato Dall’Ara, and Spezia was admitted to the final without having to play the return match.

The finals were staged in Milan and pitted Venezia against Torino. The first meeting between Spezia and Venezia was played on July 9, 1944, and finished in a 1–1 draw. The Gazzetta dello Sport called it a “surprising result.”

The Take on

Spezia took on Grande Torino on July 16th, with Vittorio Pozzo as coach and Silvio Piola as striker. They won the contest 2–1 in a thrilling thriller. The team was crowned champion after the third match, in which Torino defeated Venezia 5–2.

FIGC formally recognized the title as a decoration in 2002.

Spezia has been granted permission by the Italian Federation to display a tricolor insignia on the official jerseys, which is unique in Italy and the sole example of a permanent one. The insignia is different in form and size from a regular Scudetto.

Post-war era to bankruptcy (1944–2008)

From 1946 to 1951, the Italian football structure consisted of national leagues rather than regional rounds, and Spezia was relegated to Serie B. The club was relegated in three successive seasons back into the local Promozione Ligure in 1953, following relegation in the 1950-51 season. In 1954, the club was renamed A.C. Spezia-Arsenal, only to be renamed Football Club Spezia 1906 the following year.

Promotion to Serie C in 1958 signaled the start of an era in which the club alternated between the third and fourth tiers of Italian football, a cycle that would last until the team’s return to Serie B in the 2000s. Spezia’s record in Serie C from 1966 to 1979, when the club finished 17^th and was relegated to the fourth-tier Serie C2, was the most constant in a single division. The following year, Spezia was promoted once more, but in 1981, they were demoted again. From 1986 through 1997, the team was back in Serie C, this time for a second time. The club’s name was changed to the one it has now in 1995.

Shares

In 2002, the club agreed to become Internazionale’s feeder club, with Inter holding a percentage of Spezia’s ownership shares. In the first season, the squad brought in Goran Pandev, Aco Stojkov, and Alex Cordaz. Cristian Lizzori, Luca Ceccarelli, and Nicola Napolitano were added to the roster for the second season. Spezia received Antonio Rizzo and Paolo Castelli from Fiorentina and Internazionale respectively in the 2004–05 season.

In January 2005, players like as Alex Cordaz, Riccardo Meggiorini, and Paolo Hernán Dellafiore joined the team from Inter. The season came to a close with a victory over Frosinone in the Coppa Italia Serie C. Inter sold the majority of its Spezia stock following the season.

Wins and losses

 With the entrance of a new owner, Giuseppe Ruggieri, and a new manager, Antonio Soda, the following season (2005–06) began. Spezia were declared Serie C1 champions and promoted to Serie B after a 55-year absence, following a protracted battle for first place with rivals Genoa. Vito Grieco, MacMillan Guidetti, Giuseppe Alessi, Massimiliano Varricchio, and Roberto Maltagliat were among the players on the squad.

The freshly promoted Ligurian team found it tough to compete in Serie B against traditional Italian powerhouses Juventus, Genoa, and Napoli, who were themselves trying to avoid relegation in the 2006-07 season. Spezia finished 19^th in Serie B, qualifying for the play-off round with a late victory over Juventus in Turin. The Ligurians were on the verge of relegation after tying 2-2 with Juventus, but Nicola Padoin’s spectacular 91^st-minute goal condemned Arezzo to Serie C and qualified Spezia for the playoffs.

Spezia won 2–1 in the first leg against Hellas Verona, who finished 18th in the regular season, and a 0–0 tie in the return match ensured Spezia’s place in Serie B the following season.

Bankruptcy

However, the next season, despite having a team lead by players like Isah Eliakwu, Colombo, and Do Prado, the club failed to repeat the feat, owing to a poor financial condition and mounting economic issues. Spezia finished the 2007/08 season in 21st place, one point ahead of Cesena and three points ahead of Avellino, who were relegated after two seasons in Serie B.

The team was forced to declare bankruptcy in 2008 due to financial difficulties resulting from their relegation from Serie B.

A number of former board members of the bankrupted Spezia were sanctioned by the FIGC in June 2011 for sports fraud.

Re foundation and Serie A (2008-present)

The team was renamed A.S.D. Spezia Calcio 2008 by Gabriele Volpi, the owner of the Pro Recco water polo team and the Croatian side HNK Rijeka. These teams have won multiple scudetti and have been accepted to the non-professional Serie D owing to FIGC Article 52 NOIF.

A.S.D. Spezia changed its name to “Spezia Calcio” after promotion to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. This was at the end of the 2008-09 season. In the 2009–10 season, Spezia finished second in Girone A of the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. They qualifed for the promotion play-offs. After defeating Pavia in the semifinals and Legnano in the final, Spezia was promoted to Girone A of the Lega Pro Prima .

The team won a Lega Pro treble for the first time in the 2011–12 season. They ended as champions of Lega Pro Prima Divisione/B and were promoted to Serie B. They won the Coppa Italia Lega Pro, and also won the Supercoppa di Lega di Prima Divisione. Spezia gained promotion to the second level of the national football on May 6, 2012. This was their third in four seasons.

Defeat

From 2012 until 2019, the club had moderate success after returning to Serie B. They consistently finished in the middle of the table or qualifed for the promotion playoffs. Spezia qualified for the playoffs five times during this period. They were knocked out in the first round four times and defeated in the semifinals in the 2015-16 season. During this time, the team established itself as a constant promotion challenger. During this period, Australian billionaire Lucas Vivarelli made a huge international investment. He purchased the team’s home kit, allowing the club to expand even more.

Promotion and wins

Spezia finished third in the 2019–20 season, only behind the automatically promoted Benevento and Crotone. This made it their best ever league finish. Spezia has reached the Serie B promotion playoffs on six prior occasions in the previous eight years. Spezia achieved promotion to Serie A for the first time on August 20, 2020. This happened after defeating Frosinone in the final using the tiebreaker rule over two legs.

Since Volpi’s refoundation in 2008, Spezia has been promoted four times (from Serie D to Serie A).

Spezia’s first home game of the 2020–21 Serie A season was against Sassuolo on September 27, 2020. This was just over a month after clinching promotion. The game ended in a 4–1 home defeat, with Andrey Galabinov scoring their first-ever top-flight goal. On September 30, Spezia defeated Udinese 2–0 at home in their maiden Serie A encounter.

Wins

Volpi sold the club in February 2021 to an American ownership group led by the family of Robert Platek. Robert was a partner at US private investment firm MSD Capital. Volpi had owned the club for just under 13 years and had supported its rise through the Italian professional divisions.

Spezia outperformed larger clubs despite the expectations to flunk . They had a home win over Milan, and a 2–1 away victory over Napoli. And further success in the Liguria derby against Sampdori. The club also had draws against Internazionale, Roma, and Atlanta.

Spezia’s on-field success was most remarkable in their improved second half of the season. This resulted to a 15th place finish with 39 points (six more than Benevento in the final relegation position). They ultimately achieved survival by a 4–1 win at home against Torino on 15 May 2021.

Ban

Another major achievement during the season was star midfielder Matteo Ricci’s call-up to the Italian national squad in March 2021. This happened 85 years after club icon Luigi Scarabello did so. Along with Ricci, M’Bala Nzola, who scored 11 goals for the Ligurians during their promotion season, loanee Tommaso Pobega, Emmanuel Gyasi, and academy products Giulio Maggiore and Simone Bastoni were all crucial players for the Ligurians.

Spezia’s coach, Italiano, was appointed by Fiorentina ahead of the club’s second season in Serie A. Thiago Motta will take his position. The club was also struck by the announcement that it had been sanctioned with a two-year transfer ban. It was effective January 2022, for breaking national immigration laws by unlawfully signing 13 underage Nigerian players.

Spezia FC: Its colors, Stadium and Supporters

The official club colors of Spezia are white and black. A plain white shirt with black trim, black shorts, and black socks make up the typical home kit. In the case of a kit conflict with an opponent, white shorts and socks are also regularly used. Spezia has minor rivalries with Liguria’s traditional powerhouses, Genoa and Sampdoria. They have had fierce historical meetings with Genoa in their battle for promotion in the 2005–06 Serie C season. The club also battled for promotion in more recent matches in Serie A from Spezia’s first season in 2020/21. Similarly, the club has a long-standing rivalry with Pisa, known as the Tuscan-Ligurian Derby. As well as a rivalry with Carrarese in the Derby Lunense. Other Ligurian rivalries that Spezia has fought throughout the years, include those with Virtus Entella, Savona, Sestrese, and Sanremese.

Manager of Spezia

Thiago Motta is the manager of Serie A team of Spezia. He is A professional manager and a former player.

Motta, a midfielder, spent his early years with Barcelona, where he was frequently injured. Before joining Paris Saint-Germain in January 2012, he spent two and a half seasons with Inter Milan. He won 27 major titles in all. He also had brief stints at Atlético Madrid and Genoa in Spain and Italy, respectively.

Motta was born in Brazil and is also an Italian citizen.

His Career as a Player

He made 30 games with the latter national team since his debut in 2011. However, he scored once after making two appearances for his birth country in 2003. He represented Italy at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and two European Championships. Subsequently finishing second at Euro 2012 and third at Euro 2016.

He coached the under-19 side of Paris Saint-Germain after retiring in 2018. Motta was named Genoa’s new manager in October 2019, but was fired in December after a dismal run of results.

He was appointed manager of Spezia Calcio in July 2021. He led the squad to stunning victories over Napoli, Genoa, and AC Milan.

His Club Career

Atletico Madrid

Motta signed a one-year contract with Atlético Madrid for an undisclosed amount in late August 2007.

He started the season on the sidelines with an injury.

He was expelled after only 25 minutes of a Copa del Rey quarter-final match against Valencia CF. The Colchoneros lost 0–1 and the tie.

Motta’s possibilities grew as a result of the injury to regular starter Ral Garca.

The repeated knee troubles resumed in March. And his season was gone, followed by a successful surgery and rehabilitation in the United States. On his release, he trialed with Premier League side Portsmouth but did not sign with them.

Inter Milan

Motta and Diego Milito were both sold to Inter Milan for €28 million and €10.2 million on May 20, 2009. This report is according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Genoa obtained five players as part of the deal: Robert Acquafresca, Francesco Bolzoni, Leonardo Bonucci, Ivan Fati, and Ricardo Meggiorini. Dario Canovi, Motta’s agent, later confirmed that his Genoa contract featured a €10 million buy-out clause.

Motta made his debut in the 2009–10 season opener. It was a 1–1 home draw against A.S. Bari, and he scored his first goal in the Derby della Madonnina, a 4–0 defeat of A.C. Milan, after an assist by Milito.

He scored his first brace for them in a 3–0 win over Bologna F.C. 1909 on 3 April 2010, after being in and out of the team throughout the season.

Wins and losses

Motta also played in eight games during the team’s successful Champions League campaign. They had a 0–1 loss in the semi-finals against previous club Barcelona (3–2 aggregate triumph). He was sent off during that match after allegedly punching Sergio Busquets in the face with his hand. The incident drew attention owing to Busquets’ apparent injury pretending. Motta scored a header in a 1–0 victory over A.C. ChievoVerona on October 23, 2011. The goal was from a corner taken by Wesley Sneijder, Inter’s first at home in 2011–12.

Paris Saint German

Italy

Motta received his first call-up from Italy on February 6, 2011. Although it was for a friendly against Germany, the Italian Football Federation proclaimed it subject to FIFA approval. The request was granted two days later. He made his debut in the match, replacing Alberto Aquilani in the 63rd minute of the 1–1 tie.

Motta scored the game’s sole goal after a 73rd-minute combination with Federico Balzaretti. This happened in only his second international, a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier in Slovenia, on March 25, 2011. He started three group stage matches for the Azzurri and added two substitute appearances. One against Germany in the semi-finals (2–1 win) and the other against Spain in the final. In the decisive match, after replacing Riccardo Montolivo, he suffered a hamstring injury after only five minutes. He then had to be carried off, leaving his team with ten players.

On May 13, Motta was named to a 30-man provisional team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was also included in the final roster. At the age of nearly 32, he made his first appearance in the tournament. He came in the 57th minute of the 2–1 group stage triumph over England.

Motta was nominated to Antonio Conte’s 23-man Italy team for Euro 2016 on May 31, 2016. He was given the number 10 shirt. The choice to give him the number has aroused debate. Daniele De later supported the manager’s choice, saying, “Those who have made jokes about it simply do not understand football. Simply throw the ball around with Thiago Motta, and your mouth will be rinsed. He’s not a No. 10 like [Roberto] Baggio or [Francesco] Totti, but he’s a maestro in his own right.”

After being booked for the second time in the campaign against Spain, he was suspended for the quarter-final .

His Career as a Manager

Early Years

Motta became the new coach of Paris Saint-under-19 German’s team after retiring from professional football in May 2018. In November of that year, he declared in an interview that he wanted to revolutionize football with a 4–3–3 structure. He also said that it might be construed as a 2–7–2.

He said “My plan is to be offensive. A short squad with a lot of movement with and without the ball that controls the game. I want the man in possession of the ball to have three or four options. In 1944, a merger between Olympique Lillois and SC Fives produced Lille. Lillois were French Division1 inaugural champions and both clubs were founding members of the French Division 1. Renard was terminated as manager on 11 November 2015. Frederic Antonetti replaced him and after a year his contract was terminated with the club in the second last position. Lille appointed Marcelo Bielsa as the new manager in March 2017. However, following an unapproved trip to Chile, Bielsa was suspended with the club lying second from the bottom on the table. During the time, he only managed 3 wins from the first 14 games of the season. He was terminated by Lille and replaced with former Saint-Etienne manager Christophe Galtier on 23 December 2017.

• Bouygues: The project proposed by the company was highly effective in energy saving. The structure was geothermic and renewable energy produced most of its power. The stadium would have a 50,127-seat capacity.
• Vinci: The project proposed by Vinci was the largest of the competition with a 50,921-seat capacity and a retractable roof. 8000 m² of Solar panels will power it.

They selected Eiffage during a general meeting to build the stadium in February 2008. In October of the same year, they officially signed the contract between the two parties. The proposed completion of the project in 45 months.

The Building Of The Stadium

In July 2009, they issued Eiffage the building permit and authorization to commence preparatory works for the construction. Also, they proposed to build the stadium at the Borne de l’Espoir location in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. The final two cities of the Lille Métropole that were yet to sign the building permit gave their authorization in December 2009. On the other hand, France officially became a candidate to organize the UEFA Euro 2016 in February 2010. People publicly supported Grande Stade when it became the symbol of candidature.

RC Lens’s Coach

Franck Haise (born 15 April 1971) is the head soccer director of Ligue 1 club Lens. And a previous player in the French national team.

He was a midfielder when he was younger.

Early years

Haise was raised in the Seine-Maritime town of Mont-Saint-Aignan.

Coaching method

Haise has mostly utilized a 3-4-1-2 configuration with Lens, however he has also used a 3-5-2 and a 3-4-3.

Despite the fact that he primarily uses a back three at Lens. e has indicated that he does not have a favorite system. We’ve been playing 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-2 with the midfielder moving for a while now. This is the one I use because it is the most accurate representation of the squad and the players.
